  1. Happy Birthday! Hope you're doing well and you have great holiday season & New Year!

  2. I'm doing good, thanks! Just working. I have a monotonous office job, so nothing exciting happens. I need to find a concert to look forward to!!!

I hope you had a great birthday. I saw on fb that you worked, but I hope you at least got a nice dinner and relaxing evening to end the day!

  3. Happy Birthday Cris!

  4. Almost Accoustic Christmas was ok. Phoenix, Cage the Elephant, Vampire Weekend, and 311 were there and had good sets. But it was pretty obvious that most people were there for Muse. They played 11 songs--which was a lot compared to the other bands, but it felt way too short. And they didn't put up the full set, so I haven't seen those famous Towers everyone on the boards have talked about. SXSW sounds cool. I've never been to Coachella before, but I expect there will be way too many people! :)

  5. That's a lot of Muse! I'm quite jealous! I got in a little Christmas show but it was a short set since it was one night with about 8 bands. Only one other SoCal show--Coachella, which I would guess is similar to SXSW. I'm guessing a short set again. How long did they play at SXSW?

  6. Good, thanks! and you? Did you make it to the Ft Worth show?

  7. Thank you! And Happy Birthday to you too!

  8. And yet we're connected! Thank you!

  9. Many Happy Returns of the Day!!!

  10. Hey good Muse person - How was the 12th? Hope you had a great night!

  11. Hehe! I've almost done that a couple times!

Congratulations on getting tix to both shows! I'm sure they'll be great! October is a long way off - but the new album and a "real" tour are even farther, so it should be a nice hold-over!

  12. :( Sadly, no Dallas tickets. Did you get tickets?

I didn't jump on in time to get GA - the best seats were in section 436 in the Upper Concourse. It's hard to tell from a seating chart just how bad the worst seats are gonna be, but if that place seats 80,000 people you have to imagine that Upper Concourse is way up there! Anyway, even those tickets were $95. With fees, 2 tickets were $230. I decided that was too much for me to just see the opening band from that far away!

I hope you had a better outcome!

  13. If I make it to this show it will definitely be the largest I've been to. I saw Nine Inch Nails at the LA Forum (where Lakers used to play)--that was probably the biggest and that only seats about 17,000. I can't imagine 80,000!!!

I'll let you know on Monday what I end up with. Have a great weekend!

  14. Wow - I haven't gone to many stadium concerts. Mostly amphitheatres. I assumed General Admission would be comparable to pit tickets - which at the venues here tend to run almost double the price of a seat. Who wouldn't want to get closer to the stage? And why pay more for Mezzanine than the Floor? Hmmm... I guess I'm more of a concert novice than I thought.

  15. Funny about the Dallas stuff not being in Dallas. LA's the same way. UCLA in Westwood, Disneyland is in Anaheim, etc.

I haven't investigated prices yet, but I'm guessing Gen Admission will be out of my price range. Especially with travel expenses - the tickets need to be under $100 for sure. (Another reason why I don't want to pay the $50 fan club fee.)

Maybe the stars will align for us and Muse will announce their own tour before tickets go on sale on Monday!

  16. I'm good, thanks. Little bummed that Muse doesn't seem to be coming to the West Coast.

I actually have a friend in Dallas who has been bugging me to go visit. So I was thinking about getting tickets to that show. Hopefully there are some good seats left when it goes on sale to the public. As much as I'd love a great seat, I don't really want to join the U2 fan club just for pre-sale. I like U2, but not enough to shell out $50 on their fan club!

  17. Hi Klock- just quick note to say hi. I've been watching the Dallas U2/Muse onsale date creep up and made me think of you! You gonna try to go? (And I thought REM tickets were expensive!)

Hope you're doing well. take care!

  18. I've only seen them once (sigh). It was a good show - it was at an outdoor amphitheater in '99 after Up came out.

Unfortunately their shows are always crazy-expensive and, until fairly recently, I've been on a starving-student income. I don't know why they don't factor concerts and beer-pong into financial aid and student loans!

Hopefully they come to LA again soon.

  19. Oh that's awesome! Is he as nice in person as he seems?

Living in the LA area makes it impossible to run into musicians in small settings. Even at the smaller venues there are always a hundred other more obnoxious fans in the way. But I bet all the boys are really great and down to earth! Well, okay, maybe not Stipe as much as the others. I imagine Peter being a great person - he seems like it in his writing.

  20. Hi Lena! Lena--or even Angelique--is much easier to spit out than SomeRandomPerson! :)

No worries - hopefully you have more of a life than myself and don't have time to reach out to everyone you come across on message boards! Despite a full time job, I'm usually here M-F 9:00AM-6:00PM PST. Helps pass the time. Not that I play on the internet at work--I would never waste company resources like that! (whistle-whistle-look away.) :)

Hope this finds you well. Thanks for the note!

    Take care! -Laura
