I'm glad most of the idiots left. Lessons are more challenging but that just means they're more interesting. I actually get enthusiastic about certain bits of homework

You'll have a blast, it really is so much fun. Only thing I'd say is keep up with work as you go along (i didn't and it got very stressful)

Violin? Awesome I played it for about 3 years then gave up for some reason Italy was immense, we only did 3 concerts so it was mostly just a holiday Time at the beach and whatnot. Also fell in love with a piece called Chameleon that the Swing Band played. If you like any jazz i'd definately recommend looking into it.
