Sounds so good without the distortion mic he used a lot in the Abso era..

  2. My top 5:

    5. Download Festival 2015

Surely one of the best setlists Muse have done for years (incl. Zepp). Micro Cuts was a surprise and Agitated sounded massive.

    4. Manchester Academy 2015

Arguably not the best setlist from the Psycho tour, but the intimacy of the venue (went to my first concert 10 years prior at the academy) and the crowd made it one of the best (and most exhausting!) Muse gigs. I'll never forget hearing Fury being soundchecked - a favourite of mine that has always eluded me from all the gigs I've been to.

    3. Wembley 2010

I was aware of the previous night's cheese-fest of a concert, so was blown away when they played Bliss, CE, MK Ultra and RBS on the second night. Matt's vocals were on top form that night and I think the CE performance is still the best version of that song. The stage, although had its flaws, was visually striking. The gig felt more special than The 2nd Law Emirates and Etihad gigs that I also went to.

    2. Leeds Festival 2011

Very difficult to fault. The performances (Hyper Music, Micro Cuts, Space Dementia and Darkshines, in particular) were incredible, along with the visuals, pyro and minimalist stage design.

    1. Teignmouth 2009

I agree to a certain extent with Cunge that the performances were a little lacklustre and (to add to that) the setlist was quite short, but this gig, for me, felt special. Partly because of its location and that it felt like a mini festival, but mostly because it was my first Muse concert.

  4. I find it nigh impossible to choose between Leeds Fest, London 12th, London 14th, Manchester Academy or LCCC as my best/favourite gig

Gotta be Leeds, surely? I was ever so slightly disappointed with the Manchester Academy concert given they played Assassin, Futurism and Muscle Museum at previous shows. Still, can't complain...

I can't choose between the two shows I went to, Assassin and AP were great to hear again but night 1 at Manchester just seemed to flow a bit better, plus Take a Bow really is one of their best songs.

Plus, MotP which sounds great on this tour IMO.

  5. Micro Cuts though :facemelt: Fucking immense, definitely a 'best ever' shout imo. Was nice to see after the kinda disappointing version I saw at Leeds 2011. I thought Agitated from Download kinda went under the radar a bit also. Easily the best ever version of that for me, don't even think it was planned to be played either.

Both great versions, but I thought micro cuts at Leeds fest was better. I agree with you on agitated though

  6. The lack of real drones is kinda sad in hindsight. Would've been awesome with them flying around shining lights on people and raining confetti

The reality doesn't tie in with their description.

'They are quite intimidating' They're balloons!.. I have a feeling something didn't go according to plan since that teaser video was recorded.

  7. I'm not sure I'd put standing in line all day in sub-freezing temperatures in the easy category.

Regardless, I have tears in my internal organs, which does make it physically impossible for me nowdays.

It also means I likely wouldn't be able to maintain my closer spot once inside, as well.

While I'm a little tall for a girl, most guys are significantly taller than I am, and I often have difficulty seeing when bands have a NORMAL height stage, in GA and have to move around a ton. The taller Muse stages were a bit of a godsend for me, even if I did have to look up a bit.

Even if it wasn't freezing outside in Jan/Feb (which it severely is) queuing and barrier are completely not a possibility for me, and the low stage has scared me more than ever that if I'm halfway back, I'm not even going to be staring at the back of the band's heads half the night, but the back of some guy in the crowd for the entire thing.

How many more reasons do you need before you realise seated tickets are most appropriate for you? :p
