  1. I wonder if the £250 ticket is standing at the front, or some sort of hospitality package. I'd pay £250 just to be in the pit... but it's borderline ridiculous for a standard ticket.

If it's the same as the Warchild gig in 2013, the regular tickets are downstairs standing, the £250 ones are likely to be VIP tickets in the balcony. Possibly with a free bar. Remember, standing at the back downstairs at SBE is similar to being on the barrier at a festival in terms of distance to the performers

EDIT: Was able to ad my virtual card as a payment method, so I guess I can buy tickets with it. Still, the 'no physical card'-problem remains :(

Hmm, why not call TicketMaster and ask?

My passport still shows my maiden name. Eek!

To be extra sure, your marriage certificate would complete the chain of authentication - daft, though! If you get tickets, I'd call up afterwards and ask how they'd like you to deal with it - there will be a process.

  2. Reading all the info, I only see credit cards mentioned as payment method. Can you not buy tickets with a debit card? 'Cause in that case, I'm fucked. Credit cards aren't really common here in the Netherlands...

Try adding your card as a payment method in your Ticketmaster account now. (If you don't have a Ticketmaster account, then create one first). I suspect that if it allows you to add the card now, then it will be acceptable for payment later. This way, you remove one stressful step from the buying process.

If I use my husband's credit card will he have to go with me? He wants to pay for them if I'm lucky enough to get them but not go.

He's a keeper! Honestly, your best bet is to pay for them yourself and then he pays you. Not so romantic, maybe, but *waaay* sadder to be turned away. The rules say photo ID and the payment card are required, where they'll expect them to match the name on the ticket. Shows like this usually require the ticket buyer to attend. A pain in genuine cases of wanting to transfer ticket ownership, but great to avoid touts.

I've seen people in tears at ID-required gigs when they realise that not only are they not going to get in to their special night, but that they've also lost a whole load of money...

  3. The stage revolves a lot faster than I thought...

1 revolution per 5 mins, but much faster for Revolt & Supermassive.

Thought the revolving stage was a perfect solution for being in the round where normally there is still always a "favoured" side. This was the first ever in the round show that I thought worked for all sides.

  4. There may have been fewer attempts at creating moshpits on the floor, but actually, those pits only serve a few people who want to charge at each other, like demented toddlers, while annoying the hell out of everyone else close-by.

Heaven forbid - someone actually speaking the truth... ;)

  5. We thought the central and satellite stages made the 02 seem really intimate and I have never been as close to the band, even when I saw them at the Royal Albert Hall!

Same here! And "intimate" is never a word I thought I'd be using with the O2, which I normally detest. We decided that we were about half the distance from the stage than we were in Shepherd's Bush Empire a few years back, which is going something!

It was my 8th gig and I honestly can't remember feeling that much like a giddy kid since my first one in 2010. Top gig imo, can't wait for what might happen at the next two.

My 8th too! And, as Facebook bizarrely reminded me yesterday morning, 8 years to the day since my inaugural gig at the RAH - surreal...

Although it meant we missed both supports instead of just one, we were actually pleased that they were taking security so seriously.

Same here. Wasn't necessarily looking forward to the supports, but a bit hacked off that we wasted so much time in that queue and arrived just in time to hear Phantagram say "thank you London" - toss! And still not sure if it was "security" or "removing everyone's food/drinks so they'll drive revenue"....

  6. I'm going to disagree with everyone else and say that I thought tonight was simply breathtaking.

I've not been a massive fan of Drones and was wondering what I'd make of tonight. My seats had a handrail between them and the stage, but a complaint got us moved to dead centre in front of the stage - quite some result! So intimate, and a great place to experience the whole production, even if the people around us were a bit sterile.

I was gripped by "the show" from start to finish, unlike previous gigs, no moment really dropped for me, which was quite a surprise. Definitely a less visceral gig, but an absolute treat...

Bastards took my two bottles of water and one woman told me free water was available. Free water my arse! £2.50 a bottle and £3.50 for fizzy drinks.

Took mine too - found that the bars were happy to give free cups of tap water (saddo designated driver) - if you don't ask...

  7. I'll be in a wheelchair pushed by a tall, young man.

That reminds me randomly of a chair I spotted at the O2 back in 2012 with the wheels adorned with the Resistance album cover. I was very taken by that, and always rather regretted not stopping and complementing the owner - it was pure class!

  8. AlecSp, gigsandtours have tickets available for the Friday at O2 again now, I just caved and got myself a standing ticket for Friday as well.

I know! But with three of us, that would be another £230 - which I really just can't do...

If we were just a two, I'd have chanced it and offloaded the Tue tickets, but it's much harder to sell threes.

Won't stop Tue from being good, but it's not the last night...

  9. Congrats to Norwichred - so 2016 will be some year for you!!!

And grr to this whole ticket business. I *always* want the last night, so get in early for these tickets - then they add extra dates on the Thu & Fri, with even better seats available. Must not be bitter & twisted....:$

  10. Actually we were level four for Queen in January and the view was excellent! Got level one this time though.

Sat up there for Paul Simon & Sting with last minute tickets earlier this year. Admittedly the seats were about as high as you can get, but the sound was the worst arena sound I've *ever* heard. So bad I complained. Ended up OK, as we were moved to *much* better seats :D

Sat up there for War of the Worlds, too. OK, but nowhere near being down on level 1.

I hate arenas so much, that very few acts will tempt me into them, and the seats *really* have to be right!

  11. What does VIP package get you?

    - One (1) premium reserved ticket in rows 1-15 of the lower bowl or on the GA floor

    - Access to designated VIP entrance with early access to the venue

    - Admission to the exclusive Uprising Exhibit - an intimate and interactive experience allowing guests to relive the greatest moments in MUSE history and view private memorabilia and keepsakes from the last two decades (only available to friends, family and VIP guests of MUSE)

    - Invitation to an exclusive VIP pre-show party in the Starlight Lounge with complimentary snacks and a cash bar

    - One (1) limited-edition MUSE tour poster designed exclusively for VIP guests

    - One (1) VIP laminate

    - Private 'crowd-free' merchandise shopping at the venue

    - On-site concert concierge

So, *possibly* the best seats. Otherwise, a load of old tosh with a few bits of merch that they've knocked up, and a bag of nuts....

There's a mid-price? I'm in block 105 row U. I think it's ridiculous to include albums in the ticket price but I'm going with my son who doesn't have a copy and I'll give mine to someone who couldn't afford to buy one when they came out.

Yes, £51, £73, £84. Presume the cheapest are the level 4 - I'd never buy those at the O2. Guessing the other two are a kind of apartheid in level 1.

  12. I'm getting tickets not availiable...it is only ticket master you can get them from is it?

For the presale, yes. But on Friday, there will be other ticketers, including Gigs&Tours. If you're after seats, you can often find that one company has better groups of seats than others. Ticketing - all a pain in the arse!

  13. 2 seated Block 105.:D

What row and what price? My bugbear was that there was no clue over where the different prices covered. Guessing the lowest price was in the top level. Just not sure how they were splitting the bottom tier, and didn't want to waste time.

Unable to stomach the higest price, I went for the "only" mid price and got Block 109 row N. A bit meh, but I think we were around there last time for the O2, and it was fine. Hard to work out if side or end is the best place for an in the round show, mind...

And hacked off to realise that I've also just shelled out for three more copies of an album I've already bought...

  14. They showed not available for about 30 secs and then it looked fine, got 2 standing with no probs :)

    Fucking expensive though :(

Sorted out my three O2 seats no problem. Couldn't stomach the top price, so went with the "only" £75 ones.

And, remember, so many presales are just a piece of hype, with only a small number of tickets allocated. I've lost count of the amount of stress I've had trying to get presale tickets and failing, with more luck in the general sale. Plus the face that some presales don't even have the best seats (if seats are what float your boat).

  15. I thought VIP meant being able to meet the band but someone on another thread said it doesn't.:(

Noooo, it's just a case of decent seats (or GA!!!), a bit of pre/post show exclusivity, and a few bits of merch.

Anything that involved Meet & Greet would be marketed as such and probably more in the £400-600 price range.

In my view, it's all just a cunning ruse to milk fans for all they can, and a sadly growing trend.

  16. Invincible - love it. It was a highlight for me at my first Muse gig (RAH), never heard it live since

Guiding Light I also love. Great as it creates a dynamic against the full on stuff.

Survival - I went to two Olympic events, and the showing of the Survival video was a great way to raise the emotion levels before the event started. And who can forget that insane performance at the Olympic Closing Ceremony!

  17. So did they actually play Isolated System, or was it just the normal playback?

    Playback only, sadly.

But a great night - especially for the price!

No ID checks in the end, so happy for everyone that shared tickets here.

A great set, considering. Longer than billed and the encore felt like a great extra, however planned it may have been. Crowd pretty dead a little further back, but that was never going to be a massive surprise. Just pleased to have had such a great little add-on after last week at Emirates. :D

  18. So are we assuming that, indeed, Muse are not taking to the stage until 9pm at the earliest? The film World War Z is 110 minutes long, according to Wikipedia. What are the chances that the film is being shown on a big screen before Muse's set starts?

I'm expecting a 9:30pm show start, which is what LiveNation's page says, and which makes perfect sense with 7-9 admission.

Don't expect them to show the film, as that's what the premiere is all about, down the road. And, with many people arriving towards the end of the 2 hour admission, it hardly makes sense to show thousands of people the *ending* of a film! There may well be lots of promo shown, but who knows...

  19. I'm at horse guard now and seats are all up, no stage yet thou so

Don't know which side stage is. Tried to upload pic but image is too large

For forum. From layout of seats it makes sense for the stage to be on the

Side as supposed to the clock tower side but we shall see!!!

My earlier post showed how it's set up for the next couple of weeks.

There won't be a stage until after tomorrow morning, as they've got a few hundred soldiers to fit in there in the morning first of all! The LiveNation stage layout indeed shows the stage, as expected, in front of the memorial statue that the seating all faces towards. Plenty of room for everying in front of that!

LiveNation's page does say 21:30 for the start, which sounds about right given the 19:00-21:00 admission times
