  1. So, well after general sale started, tickets freely available in all sections.  I remember when standing would have sold out in seconds at the O2.  Is it waning interest, or just those prices...

£110 for standing and rear L1

    £149 for decent L1 seats

But £245/270 (and possibly more) for platinum seats further forward in the stageside L1 blocks - greedy gits!

£66-110 for L4, depending on where you are.

Legged it during last knights chorus, stomped it back to car in plenty of time, thinking omg yes M8 we're gonna avoid the rush... took us two fucking hours just to be able to move our car. Didn't get home till 3am.

Ugh - we were on level 9 of the car park 😐  After last year's experience getting out, we'd decided that we'd head into Westfield and eat after the show, rather than wait in the car.  In the end, a prompt exit from the GA seating at the end of Knights and a dash across the bridge got us up to our floor before anyone else seemed to have left, so we gave it a go.  We made it down to the barriers before the traffic came to a near standstill.  It was clear that it was all the pedestrian management that was causing gridlock - but were out in 5 mins.  5 mins later back to the car and we'd have been 2 hours in there.  Felt a bit too smug being back home before midnight....

But yes, a more hideous venue and logistics is hard to imagine.

I couldn't get tickets using the members pre sale this time, so ended up seating in the Am-Ex allocated area.  It had no atmosphere at all - all corporate types and families taken for the concert experience rather than Muse fans.  Took the shine off the concert - never seen so many people getting up for drinks/food etc  and started leaving around 10pm - Musers usually stay in place for most of the act.

Such a shame - it did look dead over there.  GA seating was great - everyone on their feet from the start, and decent engagement.  Worst too for you was that there was no rush for tickets in the end - you could even have picked up the £30 GA Twickets tickets last week.

Like a lot of gigs, though, I enjoyed it a lot - but the memories mature and improve afterwards.  And, interestingly, a 5* review from the Guardian

And here's a handful of pics from me:

My wife messaged me to say that the sound didn't seem to be up to the usual high standard of Muse. Also, I think that the Drones tour set the bar very high, and from what I have seen so far, the current tour doesn't quite reach the same level - I'd be interested to hear from those that saw both Drones and Simulation live.

Enjoyed tonight quite a lot more than I thought I would.  I'm no setlist snob, and was quite happy with what we had.

The Drones shows did indeed set the bar high, and this one didn't beat that - not least as it was a vast stadium show.  But plenty of bells and whistles to keep us all amused.  Started off the day wondering if it might be my final "must go" Muse show, but ended the night looking forward to next time!  There's clearly life in the old dog yet...

What does "stadium island opens" mean?  Do they not let people up to the venue until then?  How will that work with people queuing early - I assumed there would be a queue at each turnstile?

Also, is the only way to get there to get to stratford station and then walk a mile?  Ugh

Presumably, early people will queue at the bridges - it'll be pretty obvious.

And yes, for most people, it's the walk from Stratford - which doesn't really feel that long when you do it.  It's the walk out that's worse, as they tend to send you the long way round - I think it's become more controlled than ever since West Ham moved in.

Of course, the other option is to drive - but it can take an age to get out of the car parks.

  5. Ah, not being a sportball fan, I hadn't realised about the clash.  Doesn't bother me, but I do wonder how empty the place will be - still not sold out and lots of people wanting to be somewhere else...

Crikey - a quick look at Twickets, which has 390 tickets advertised for Saturday, with a total asking price of over £22,000.  Would happily have paid £30, rather than the £90 or so I paid for my tickets!

People asking about GA tickets - they're standing and L1 unreserved seating, so you get to stand/sit where you like - I like this arrangement.  If you're not bothered about getting too close to the barrier, you can sit for support, and then head onto the pitch for the headliners - the best kind of tickets!

What's it like as a venue?  It was brilliant for the Olympics.  I thought it was pretty ropey for the Stones last year, but I had fairly rubbish seats - hopefully it's better nearer the bottom.  Getting out after the Stones was painful.  I remember it being less controlled, and much quicker/easier at the Olympics - I could make it to the train in 20 mins from the stadium back then.

On timings, the stadium website has this - not fantastically helpful, mind:

    10:30am: Ticket office opens

    4.00pm: Stadium Island opens

    5.00pm: Stadium doors open

5.00pm: Hospitality food & beverage packages begin

    6:00pm: Show starts

    10.30pm: Event curfew

    11.30 pm: Hospitality areas close

I booked my tickets (e-tickets) on ticketmaster.co.uk and I can't print my tickets yet, for those who are telling the same, do you know when the tickets and e-tickets will be available ? Thx

You should be emailed.  I had this from Ticketmaster last month: "We know you’re eager to have them in your hands, so we’re working hard to have this completed as soon as possible – we’ll email you again once they’re ready."

Mind you, unbelievable how poor ticket sales have been.  The public clearly don't see them as the Muse of old...

  7. Plenty of tickets still available. Price & new material, in my view. The two together made me wonder if this might be the first tour I'd miss out on, but of course I bit in the end.

All stadia gigs are rubbish really - any joy from the event is quickly sucked out in the interminable trudge out. It was grim after The Stones last summer, defo.

  8. Is "pitch / unreserved seating" regular standing? And the map displays "front standing", but no seperate ticket category for that? I'm confused

To the first question - yes. You can freely move between the pitch standing area and the unreserved lower level seats. Have used that before - works very well.

  9. Golden circle at the front was an extra £10..

Surely, that was just a local rule for that show?

For the Stones last year, it was something like £90 regular standing, £250 golden circle - an extra tenner would have felt like a bargain.

The floorplan at TM looks like it's just one standing section for 1 Jun.

  10. My only problem with RAH is that you get people there who aren't into the band we got told of for singing and dancing to the point this bloke kept turning around and screaming at is then started throwing stuff at us; they where out number as people around us started on these blokes for there behaviour. Still my 2nd favourite gig to SBE

This is an unusual experience. I'm a regular RAH patron and have never seen behaviour like this. After all, you'd presume to be a fan if you're paying over £100 for a ticket. That said, there are always people there on comps, who are less engaged. But also bear in mind that not everyone has the same expectations of gig behaviour - though I'd still expect the venue to be standing and on fire from the get go with Muse!

Wishing everyone who got tickets a great time. Still a few regrets about giving up the seats I had in the presale, but my pocket thanks me..!

  11. I honestly don't get how anyone can justify paying that much for a ticket, it's a complete rip-off! Yes, I'm aware it's a charity gig, but they clearly jacked-up the price so that the band still get paid. I've known much smaller bands do charity gigs, and get nothing in return. Hell, I've been to entire festivals for less than the price of these tickets!

If the gig has sold out, then the ticket prices are arguably not too high. You don't know the band are being paid - neither do I, though it's quite likely they're not. And, as a charity gig, why wouldn't the charity aim to raise as much as it can?

All that said, I had to walk away. A few pangs of regret, but £275 for a pair of reasonable stalls seats....

Also, while it's a gorgeous venue, and small for Muse, there'll likely be just standard gig production - don't expect drones and the like flying around (though, at that price, I'd expect every ticket to come with a personal jet-pack).

And I thought the See site worked as well as could be hoped for with high numbers seeing a small number of ticket. Depending on how restricted the pre-sale allocation was, it could be even easier on Friday - those prices are a pretty good filter!

Should still be a special night for those who've gone for it :)

  12. I wonder if the fact you can only re-sale tickets at face value (is that correct?) is making it easier for us. No more bots buying up the tickets.

Probably still wouldn't stop the likes of scumbag Viagogo, even though buyers wouldn't get it.

In the end, I just couldn't bring myself to pay those prices this morning, even when tickets were available. My level of fandom has been tested, and found failing... :(

  13. Does anyone know what gallery standing would be like? I don't mean the view, I mean, would there be few enough people that I would definitely get a spot at the balustrade, or might I end up standing behind other people?

Pretty crappy, to be honest. You're way up high, it's usually hot as hell up there. Sound for rock shows can be poor, though not always, but it's a great position for classical stuff. The worst bit is that there's not enough space for everyone to be at the front - so, if you're behind, you're looking down over people's shoulders.

If you want to stand, it's a chalk and cheese experience between the Arena and the Gallery..

Those prices, though - crikey. Might not be such a fight to get tickets tomorrow. Even I am baulking at the cost, which is unusual.... Just been back and checked - 10 years ago, it was just £50 for Arena standing tickets!

  14. Just need Photographic ID Right to get in, nothing else?

    From Ticketmaster's event details:

"At the time of entry, you must present the credit card used to purchase your tickets as well as a valid photo ID (such as a driver's license, state ID or Passport). Your entire party must enter the venue at the same time. Tickets are non-transferable."

Ask the venue just in case but, yeah, if you queue up and go inside together then I think security will just let you switch once you go through the doors.

2 completely separate queues and entrances at SBE - one for standing downstairs, the other for the three balconies. I've never seen friendliness for any swaps.

At Biffy Clyro's Warchild gig there earlier these days, they went down the queues checking ID well before doors, so that actual entry was quite prompt. If they're doing that this time, then you may be able to get them to agree a swap. No guarantees, mind.

You could try calling the venue beforehand to see if they can give you a steer - otherwise you'll need to play it on the night.

  15. I think everyone is overthinking the whole voting for songs thing. It's hardly like there'll be Electoral Reform Society oversight of the vote!

I'm sure you'll be able to vote for whatever you want, and then the band will look at the results and decide what to play from that. Doesn't guarantee they'll play the top 15 songs, and not pick some from further down the list. Nor does it guarantee that every song in the set will have been voted for. However, it's pretty sure that it'll be a great gig - the last one at SBE was...
