I was recently dealing with a case to do with a conversation group who are trying to breed and release snow leopards, it's a really sad situation for them as the Chinese normally use tigers for Chinese medicine but as they are running out of tigers they are using snow leopards instead

I like your job. Endangered animals have always been a concern of mine. I went to a big cat refuge in Tampa, FL where I saw a beautiful tiger and it saddened me to know that they are endangered.

You've seen some good films there. Wild Strawberries is on my Netflix queue. Netflix is seriously the best way to get a hold of some good foreign films. Downfall was amazing--the youtube parodies are even better. Seriously though, try to get a hold of Netflix. If you liked Bout de Souffle try Shoot the Piano Player and The Bicycle Thief. If you get a chance, see a film called "Children of Heaven" from Iran. Iranian cinema is amazing.

I'm only familiar with Godard at the moment, mainly because it is so difficult to find many foreign films in this godawful city. I've also seen Bande à part and Le petit soldat, and I'm forever looking for more. The only non-English films that ever seem to be for sale at reasonable prices are Amélie, The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, Metropolis and Downfall. I love them all, but some variety would be nice! Perhaps I'm a bit dim for not using the internet to buy more...haha. It's probably a good idea to torrent some until I can get them on DVD, but I hate having to watch films in low quality.

Thanks! The ending of that film is so brilliant. "Qu'est que c'est degueulasse?
Vivre sa Vie is also a favorite of mine. Are you big on the French and Italian new wave films? -
I haven't seen too many of his films yet, so I cannot really comment on his recent works (everything I have seen is supeb, however). The DVD shops that are going down right now should be selling them dirt cheap, though, so I'll be picking up as many as I can over the next week. I've heard good things about Match Point, but his recent films really do seem to split the fandom.
OH, and that picture from À bout de souffle on your profile is great! I love that film. Jean-Paul Belmondo is such a great actor. I need to see him in more roles.

I think the quintessential Woody Allen film is Annie Hall, without a doubt. Manhattan is his sonnet to NYC--loved the Gershwin in that one. However, the one I keep going back to is Hannah and her Sisters. I really appreciate the multiple narratives in the film. And at the risk of sounding sacrilegious I really liked Matchpoint and Vicky Christina Barcelona--but his later films don't really feel like Woody Allen films at all. They're good enough to stand on their own.

Love and Death, probably. I love the Dostoevsky, Bergman and Tolstoy parodies, but I might be biased towards the film because it was the first of his that I saw.
In terms of screenwriting and direction (which are better indicators of his abilities, I tihnk), Annie Hall is my favourite. The script is so naturalistic and really captures most of the subtleties of real-life dialogue. And I love Diane Keaton's outfits. She's so quirky.

Ha yes, I'm surprised you know that awfully bad film. Please tell me you're an Alan Rickman fan and not a Hugh Grant fan I just like the eyeliner <3 I wish you a Merry Christmas seeing as I'm here
