  1. Can't agree with this part, lol. For me alcohol is an absolute must if I'm going to have soaking wet strangers packed against me like that. That doesn't mean I overdrink and act like a dick or puke on anyone. Just means I'm more equiped to particpate in the fun pit stuff and tolerate the bad pit stuff.

And yes there's risk of dehydration - and I have an absolutely crazy personal story about dehydration I won't share right now - but I usually limit the full-contact pit stuff to about an hour or less. I try to get in and get out. I've never tried to endure 5 or 6 hours of it.

To me the worst part is just standing for too long. Sore feet, sore legs, sore back - do not like. But in my experience the rough stuff mostly only happens up close to the stage. The other 75% of the fans in GA have a reasonable amount of personal space and can escape for a break when necessary.

she said drunk. There is nothing wrong w/ people wanting a beer or two but when they are drunk that is a different story...some people can't handle their liquor.

  2. Center stage and to the left is ridiculous. If you're in the center and you expect to not be moved by a sea of people, forget about it, lol. If you're in the center and worried you won't have a good view of Matt, forget about that too, because most likely the crowd will pick you up a few inches off the ground the tide will push you to just a few feet away from him. Been there, done that, lol.

Its not so bad, you just have to get over the claustraphobia/loss of control. Its a mental trick. If you can lose yourself for a bit, you'll be fine.

ugh that is irritating. whenever you're at the side where the lead singer is people just freak the fuck out! I ended up in the center 2nd row at the mcr/muse gig. I regretted that very quickly forgetting that is exactly the spot where gerard performs on stage.

I was elbowed, kicked, kneed and pushed throughout most of the show.

  3. i didn't care to check if this has been said before, so if it's repeat stuff...sorry.

Don't encourage pushing. Pushing hurts the people up front and some people who aren't ready for it could fall and falling in a crowd is not fun.

Pushing will happen, I know, but don't egg it on... :indiff:

If someone falls help them up.

Do NOT crowd surf b/c you think it's :awesome: trust me it is not :awesome: it's annoying to everyone. Only do it if it's your only way to get out of the pit.

If you see a crowd surfer's shoe apporaching someone's head don't be afraid to protect and cushion that persons head or at least forewarn them in some way. It's okay to look out for one another. The person at first may be like :wtf: but once they realize why you did they will be all :awesome: and  that you saved them from getting a shoe to their head.

Do not wear heels/pumps in GA. It would suck if you're jumping and the spike of your heel stabs someone's foot.

yeah and do not wear flip-flops either.

    p.s.

get there at a decent time if you want a good spot in GA. don't expect to get there 30 minutes before the show starts and think it's okay to push your way to the front.

and last but not least...have fun! :awesome: and look out for one another.

Percentage-wise, what are the chances that my glasses will get broken? I don't have contacts, and I kinda like to see. :erm: I've been wanting new ones, so I guess I don't care that much if they get pulverized. :)

Thanks for this thread. It's given me a lot to think (worry) about. ;) I'm definitely someone who likes to do the research and be prepared.

they'll stay on your head, I promise! unless you get involved in moshing then there will be a huge chance they'll fly off.

  4. Literally just noticed  They don't allow that over here as far as I know - I tried to use my parents card to book a last minute ticket for Download this year, and got told my parents had to be there as it was their card. Other friends were told the same thing when they tried to book box-office collection tickets. I think they're just a hell of a lot stricter over here with that kind of thing.

And yeah, I just hate the idea in general  I like having my ticket in my hand whilst I'm queueing, without having to worry about having to take both my card and my ID into the gig!

I see your point. Yeah I guess some people are more strict w/ it. I like having a ticket as well b/c it's a nice souvenir :awesome:

I also do like the idea that paperless tickets stops scalpers from playing their dirty game completely.

Ah I'm sure in a few years they'll figure out how to make it more convenient and safer for fans.

  5. I still see it ending up as a big mess :erm: And tbh, even if it was quicker and more organised, it still wouldn't work. Most ticketsites do not accept my card because it's a visa debit; I have to use my parents card to book 90% of gig tickets. I bought all of my Muse tickets using my parents card, and a huge amount of people on here have to do the same. So what are they supposed to do, bring parents along with them to collect their tickets? It's a good idea in terms of beating touting, but when you look at it otherwise, it just wouldn't work.

I edited my last post, I guess you didn't see it in time

But yeah..same last name and same address it's fine.

The Miley Cyrus concert did paperless tickets and everything went fine. The only problem was people who were not prepared and that was their fault for not bringing their CC.

  6. Aye, a lot of sites won't let you cancel your ticket - so you'd be stuck with it. Also, it'd take a hell of a lot longer to get everybody inside, plus what would you do if you used someone elses card to book your ticket with?

I agree that something should be done about the touting problem but I genuinely do think that paperless tickets are a shit idea.

actually it's quicker and more organized to get people in.

All you need in your hand is your CC and ID. They scan it and let you in. That's all. If you have a seat ticket the will print out a little slip that prints from the CC scanner and the slip has all the seat info. Well I guess it's no longer then when they have to see your ticket and tear or scan your ticket. The part that does take long is the purse search and the waving of that weak wand to detect weapons..lol

P.S. If you used someone else's CC? If you have the same last name and same address it's no problem.

  7. The only problem with paperless tickets is that if you need/want to resell your ticket becaus eyou can't go (and when I say resell I mean face value) you can't, can you?

No you couldn't. Unless you show up w/ the person who you sold your "ticket" to and make the Credit Card scanner person scan your card.

  8. Yes, I just signed up for the muse message board today, but i've been here many times before. I do totally agree with you. I wanted tickets for the NYC show in march 2010 so badly but I don't think it's gonna happen because of these people who buy the tickets and sell them at outrageous prices. I've been pretty angry about it all day. It really isn't fair but I guess nothing ever is :(

    :( that totally does suck!

Paperless tickets for the win. Seriously bands need to start doing this NOW! It ensures the actual fans will get tickets and scalpers absolutely cannot do shit like that.

  9. the only dream i had of muse was...odd...

    and pointless...

just matt and dom dancing in dress shirts and no pants...lol...they were choreographed and everything and chris and i were just standing there watching them...haha...i can't remember the rest of it though...but i had the dream a few weeks ago anyway...

  10. i hear 'starlight' randomly play on the sattelite station at the grocery store i work at i used to hear it twice a day but lately it only plays once a week...and one day i heard the station play 'tiro' that was an odd occurance though b/c i never heard it play again, and i work A LOT at that gorcery store...
