Aftermath >The Globalist

I'm pretty sure JFK is the same speech they used as an intro for parts of their North America tour for BHaR, they played a JFK speech into Knights of Cydonia and i remember the speech ending with "free and independent", as one of the track reviews said JFK did, it fit well going into Knights so it'll be interesting to hear how they do it on the cd

the "DEAD INSIDE!" part really does sound like backstreet boys though good job whoever pointed that out
-
LOVE this song, has some electronic elements to it sure, but I think there used very effectively. And it has some excellent guitar moments, bass is really powerful, drums incredibly piercing and Matt's vocals sound GREAT on this track. While its definitely a very pop kind of song I didn't expect a riff heavy song from the first OFFICIAL single from the album. Very happy with this song, and i'm very pumped for the rest of the album as after hearing 3 songs including the live version of reapers this is already the best 3 song introduction to an album we've had for Muse in quite a while.
Very exciting time to be a MUSE fan.
your RANDOM capitalization of CERTAIN words make me want to CLAW my eyes OUTMan, it is ROUGH time to be a USER on this MESSAGEBOARD

I wasn't super excited or disapointed by it, I'll have to keep listening i guess
But im honestly not pissed there's a song that isnt super rock/heavy on the album, I was glad to hear they were trying to have more guitar driven songs but at the same time i was hoping there would still be some touches of their electronic/poppier stuff, but then again this is coming from someone who doesnt mind and actually enjoys Undisclosed desires..which is a pretty unpopular opinion around these parts

Would love to see Glorious and Take a bow played at the next show
-
Hoping they stick to sort of the same plan setlist wise even if they do play arenas in the US again, Lots of more stuff from the first albums this time and maybe like 3 songs each from TR and T2L...curious how they're going to play it when it comes to the bigger gigs
-
Well they have two days off, right? That should give them enough time to really run through Assassin and have it ready to play, Also why the hell can't they just play Muscle museum its starting to bug me, I think it might happen though....also Take a Bow returning would be cool
-
A way to fill out that chorus a little more vocally would be to have Chris maybe sing a lower octave, or some kind of lower harmony sort of like the Panic station chorus, or maybe they tried something like that in rehearsals and it didn't really work, either way like someone else said everything will probably tighten up as the song gets played more live
-
It's a bunch of random noise, if it wasn't for that i'd love every second of the song
It's a bunch of random noise thats extremely hard to make come out of a guitar
-
I feel kinda surprised i feel like more people would be pumped about this song and not immediately thinking of things to call out about it, I personally think it sounds awesome, the chorus vocals sound a little weak here but im gonna assume they're more layered on the studio version and will sound great
-
ah that bent 5 instead of a 6 in Psycho really stands out live
Yes, this! I complained about this a few days ago, wish they kept the 6th fret in there
-
Welp, im officially on board
-
Heard from a friend that a station in Philadelphia (93.3) gave Psycho a spin, apparently its not too offensive, not sure if they cut the sargeant parts out but i doubt it
-
I think the part im most pissed about is that fact they slightly changed the riff, back in the old days after the 0305035 they'd hit the 6th fret, and now they just slightly bend the 5th fret
Not a huge difference, but noticeable enough to me and i'm sure a few others
-
Yeah honestly the song didn't get me that pumped up, the drill sargeant and Your ass belongs to me now being the lyrics kinda ruins it for me, can already see the drill sargeant on the screens at the concerts and I'm just picturing it being super lame, hoping Dead Inside gets me more pumped for album
-
Now what do we think the chances are of us actually hearing the song today?
-
There is a festival in Belfast this weekend about freedom of speech, politics, controversials ideas, etc
The festival end on sunday, maybe there is a link with muse or a psycho premiere to close the festival (or not)
Now to me that sounds more logical than a secret gig
-
If there is this supposed Citizen Erased sequel, my guess is Matt meant it more as it has the same lyrical and musical themes as CE, not a literal second part to the song called Citizen Erased II, who knows though
-
Yes, we know.
Tough room
-
The craziest part is that this riff has been around since the beginning, took them almost 20 years to make it into a song
Around the 2 minute mark
-
Maybe not radio but YouTube upload is more likely
Yeah kinda forgot to think about that as i was writing that post lol, A youtube upload of that tomorrow would be fucking awesome fingers crossed, maybe it'll be like Psycho is the first song we hear from the Cd but the first radio single will be something different, sort of like Survival/Madness from last time around, atleast im pretty sure thats how that went last time

is there a way to get the audio from the dvd of the deluxe version? sorry if thats breaking the rules to ask lol, its just the handler sounds so good "live" and the version of Reapers with the whole audience screaming Drones is awesome, the audio is too good
