    Instrumentally, and vocally, this is definitely one of the best tracks they've done for years! I do admit, it does seem like they've recycled a lot of elements from some of their older tracks (plus RATM), but I can live with that.

     

    However, the more I listen to it, the more I realise how absolutely awful the lyrics are. I know Mutt Lange told Matt to be "more literal", but this is just too much. :LOL: I'm sorry, but I just find them cringe-worthy. They will make sense in terms of the concept for the album, but it would have been nice if they were a bit more cryptic.

     

    Still love it though!

    So far Drones is fitting nicely between BH&R and TR, although it could easily equal BH&R in quality, if the rest of the album is as good, maybe even surpass it.

    I hope to be proved completely wrong. But I just don't see a Reapers video coming today wouldn't make any sense why take the attention off Mercy? Maybe the Mercy video, that'll be imminent.

     

    But happy to be proved wrong. And in this case, willing myself to be wrong.

     

    The Mercy video would appear on YouTube initially, but then would be aired on music channels, so it'd get more mainstream exposure. A Reapers lyric video would be a YouTube only thing, I imagine.

    Why would you not listen to it? :LOL:

     

    They'll probably stay on 'packing for days though, until the end of the week then get shipped in time for the 7th...

     

    I've been listening to Muse a lot more recently, particularly the released Drones tracks, and I fear I'm overplaying them. I don't want that to ruin my listening experience when the album finally arrives. Although I've seen Reapers live anyway, so I guess it doesn't really matter. :LOL:

    Looking forward to studio Reapers myself. I know enough people have gone on about it already, but I just hope it's not another Supremacy. I have high hopes though.

     

    Also, I have a feeling this "surprise" is somehow related to Muse's festival tour kicking off tomorrow. As it's the start of the Drones tour cycle, I reckon we could have a track or two premiered. That's the most realistic outcome of this, in my opinion.

     

    Although, if it does end up being either, I don't think I'd be able to resist listening. :LOL:

    I'm still not letting myself get overhyped for the album :D

     

    Yeah, these reviews are getting me WAY too excited with the stuff I've read. Revolt being one of their most creative?

    I mustn't get overhyped haha

     

    It's too late for me, I was over-hyped after Psycho. :LOL:

     

    I've set myself the difficult challenge of not listening to any Muse tracks until I have Drones. I see myself breaking that though. XD

    The crowd were always going to be average at best so I think I would have preferred them to have just gone "fuck it" and pulled out SS, Hyper Music, Agitated or The Groove and ditched Starlight, SMBH and Uprising. In my opinion they're at the stage now as a band where they could afford to do something a bit more ballsy and unpredictable to shake things up at these sort of events. I'm a real believer in pulling out Dead Star or something at these events to pack a bit more of a punch rather than playing it a bit more safe. On the other hand, the Drones songs and Bliss were solid

     

    True that, although I guess they had to cater to the mainstream. I can see them being a lot more ballsy at Download and onwards. That said, this is the most rock they've sounded for ages, the songs seem heavier than ever!

    Don't know if this has been mentioned (although the thread exploded, and I'm not trawling through tons of pages to find out :LOL:), but is this actually a song where Matt doesn't use "Drone(s)" in the lyrics?
