He doesn't do that any more though.
He's done it on this tour a number of times for sure - less than the TR tour though where it just about became the norm.
-
It's easily among Muse's best ever live songs, it's been consistently brilliant since they first started playing it.
Definitely the best closer I've ever seen live, especially when preceded by Stockholm and a gargantuan riff fest.
-
Not pro-shot, nor a great actual performance, but those fucking lasers, lights and visuals - stunning .
-
I like how the intro varies from the album version and from gig to gig. During Toronto night two, Matt did the People of the Sun intro to Hysteria. T'was pretty good!
Yeah, I do like that too - I'm not a fan of him playing a muted version of the bass though. Stealing Chris' limelight, innit? .

The atmosphere at Reading was immense, it felt like there were genuinely a lot of massive Muse fans there - certainly where I was. The whole golden circle was buzzing.
-
I thought the R/L songs were probably almost the best versions I've heard of all the Origin songs. They were all pretty raw.
It was the last genuinely good New Born, I loved the synth intro to Bliss and meaty guitars, the guitar outro to Space Dementia was so so so heavy, Hyper Music rocked, Plug In Baby was as good as ever, Citizen Erased was huge, Micro Cuts suffered from slightly wussy verses but the chorus, outro and vocals made up for it, Screenager and Darkshines were exceptional and Megalomania massive with the flames and organ crashes.
Genuinely the joint-best Muse gig I've been to.

Hysteria has been crap since the Absolution tour.
Matt's guitar has no punch, he doesn't play the intro right and the solo is terrible without whammy.
-
That noise you can hear is a bloke singing.
I just checked it out bro', case closed.

Obvious post is obvious.

Love Andy Burrows, good chap and good musician. He was the only talented member of Razorlight.

I was just thinking... a 'greatest hits' set by Muse, so to speak, would still absolutely rock.

I thought you had said it was Earls Court..?
EC among the best I've been to, Glasto a more momentus moment.

I know some of these technically 'haven't gone away', but I'd love to see them at my next Muse gig.

It's so much better than the HAARP version everyone, erm, harps on about (soz).
Love the feedback at the end with the guitar on Matt's head. Just another one of those little moments that makes Glasto '04 their greatest ever gig, imho.
-
But does it sound like that? No. The beef when it comes to heavy/feedback bits in that MM performance is just immense.
-
HTAILY is such an underrated song.
Also, the creepy circus version of MM from the Absolution Tour was absolutely amazing.

EDIT: Omg, Matt's guitar actually sounds like a guitar! :'(. What was wrong with just plugging it into an amp and PA without all the stupid crap he has going on these days? Plus, bring back more whammy. Whammy rocks.
-
It will be like the last two tours, I'd imagine - screens and lights, nout too extravagant.

New Born is my favourite Muse song, always has been, still is.
Sadly, it sucks live these days which is a real shame as it used to be monstrous. That switch over moment from piano to guitar was just epic.
Then you had the riff, the many varieties of solo, massive chorus and Matt's outro wail (the longer, the more epic).
Sadly, it died as of Reading 2011which was the last truly great New Born.
