  1. Well that may well be, but i it is not uncommon for two supposidly identical cymbals to sound different to one another. Also, i wouldnt go onto a drum website and just buy a snare drum or a new kit, without going and playing one in the first place. I personally feel its a bit foolish. By all means try a drum out in a shop and then buy it cheaper online but not just blindly hoping it will sound like you want it too. Same with clothes etc.
  2. whoops, i was actually talking about DDrum kits, but i absent mindedly wrote dw. But i do also agree about the dw thing as well, i never buy anything musoc related (apart from stands etc) from the net. You NEVER know how different two of the same thing can be, especially with cymbals and stuff.
  3. i tried out a dw kit, and i wasnt veyr impressed with it overall. the sound was medicore, but what struk me most was hopw cheap the kit felt. the lugs looked cheap, the powedercoating was poor. i wouldnt buy one, for that money id head to ebay and see what i could pick up. lots of exports and stuff for that money.
  4. he was using an eliminator hi hat stand when hey did sfa on cd uk. the drums were live, but the rest wasnt.
  5. ah mr t, good to see you around again. got any more pics of that gorgeous kit of yours?
  6. lol even the guitarists know these days ! yeah tis a rythmtech crashermm, theyre around £50. there a bit naff and dound sound much like the real recording.
  7. ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh yeah! i would have done it myself, just i took em straight up to school for a rehersal where they were all of last week so i didnt have really have time. as for the dies cast hoops...no. what are the differences?
  8. went to music shop this morning to pick up my swet ride, and whilst i was there got g1, and g2 combo pu on my 12 and 16 toms and i got some cases for all my drums, all for the rather whimsical price of £100 so im rather pleased. also included free seating and tuning from the bloke there. so im rather pleased with that really!
  9. oh yeah, just looking through shots of the new stockholm vid and saw this: looks like he was using a mix of red and orange vistalites for the new vid, only props i would have guessed but at least its actually related to doms drums, not like most of the stuff in this thread...
  10. uh no, i bought thw wrong one and im looking for something to replace it with
  11. cheers for all the help guys, im trying out this sweet ride on satuday (becuase i have a gig next week and i need some kind of cymbal to play...not that the shop now that ) im gonna try and see if i can try out the paiste 2002 ride they have, whjich will invlove me paying some more money and i will see of they can get in a k, or a k custom ride or some description. and yeah those little aplha splashes are brilliant, im gonna try and get one when i get my checks cashed
  12. dunno they didnt have any z's some people think they are a bit too "punk" or something...amthough taylor hawkins swears by them... argh its a prob cos my local store doesnt have a great selection so i will have to go throuhg them to get the new cymbal...
  13. well after much antagonising, ive changed my mind over this new ride... its a gorgeous cymbal but its just do dark and low pitched, so the shop has offered to swap it for anything else in the 200 price range which was nice of them really. current contenders are a k 20 ride (needs to be ordered in) or an avedis sweet ride, or a paiste 2002 ride, but that latter is a littel out of my proce range, i was miserable unimpressed by the sabians i tried downt hrer including aa's and hhx's rides and crashes. if anyone else has any advice on a rgood all purpose ride in that price range give us a shout. p.s. i know that creting barker uses a sweet ride and it in know way influenced my desicion, i did exatly what the david partay said and they were the ones that came up tops. cheers amdrew
