  1. Agree with the nifty fifty, that lens changed my life, kinda.
  2. Ha yes! I remember, think it might have had a name like muser tribute or something like that.
  3. I like black and white as long as it's striking and the contrast is right.
  4. Aww he wants one? Ha bet he is jealous. I'll have to give it a play. The stuff from leicas look soooooo nice though, but I do know it costs an arm and a leg in comparison. The lenses pricey? It sounds a bit like those mini dslrs they were coming out with but better.
  5. I find 2seconds is enough for self portraits to hide or get rid of the remote, but 4 seconds is probably more handy and less rushing involved. I agree that having wireless is better for long expo cause you have little risk of moving the camera. I suppose it depends if you have a specific need. I don't know if there's a range on the wireless remotes where you might want to use it at a large distant. Next time I see you bring it and I'll play. I don't know, you still get the diversity of lenses and stuff with a dslr, I take it the mirrorless is fixed or limited? And you'll always have the need for manual focusing for particular situations. I agree, smaller is more portable and comfortable to use especially travelling. I've always like the idea of a leica mmm
  6. I saw your photo of Lauren, very nice, seems to handle really well. Crispy
  7. Aww so I see the plus points, apart from the price! Is that the camera you posted a pic of? Looks well retro in the design, but very cool. What camera you getting it for? I've only ever had the canon remote switch that's wireless and has either shoot now or delay 2 secs option or I think you can lock it as well to shoot continuously.
  8. Sounds like you want to replace Lauren with a camera. Yeah I like having a favourite camera of the time, found that as I delved into film. I should really shoot more film now I'm going to be close to the lab I use. Anyway, what's so good about mirrorless? Are the sensors like super clever? Cause surely that's just the same as another non dslr camera right? A normal digital?
  9. Nah more like the whole big camera with big lens in your face thing. I don't even have one and I do kind of wish I had a compact of sorts again.
  10. IN YOUR FACE I still want a G erm..whatever number they've reached now for compact moments. But part of me wants to get a water resistant camera for me hols
  11. The stitched image is very well done, love the mirror-like water and reflection.
  12. Can I ask how much post processing did you do on these? They're awesomely beautiful.
  13. Haha also on second glance, that shadow created by the arm on the left of the shot on the dress is annoying me too. Yeah they look like good shots regardless but being anal about it that's what got me. I was dabbling about going on a course with this dude (http://adambronkhorst.com/), I knew of him from when I did 365 and he's good. I've also heard of welovecreate from when it was called Garage studios? Wasn't lomokev involved with them at one point? And maybe someone else but I can't think who it was. But yeah I think popping to Brighton and doing a course with someone sounds like a great idea. Plus I want to try and purchase some basic studio lighting kit over time so it would be good if I actually learned how to use it. I've kind of reached that point where I need some proper tuition on certain things. Kenny's style is very unique, a bit surreal for me, love the image near the end with the blue and yellow lights though.
  14. First one, love the composition and pose but for me the whites are starting to bleach out a tiny bit. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing. The second is ace, wish all the hair was perfectly in focus though. Oh Beast Bob, have you ever take any studio lighting courses in Brighton at all? I know there's a few photographers based round that way I'm tempted to do a few courses with them later down the line.
  15. I should shoot with my sigma 24-70mm, won't compare obviously but it's a good lens, but soo heavy to carry.
  16. Mmmmm smooth crisp bokeh Haha camera IN THE FACE. I wonder how much distortion you get at 17mm, though I like the lens distortion effect. How you finding the 24-70mm?
  17. Ideal solution is to get a full sensor body? I love the 50mm f1.8, and I think on a full frame sensor it is as true to the eye as you can get, I think the 50mm was the standard focal length of film cameras? In regards to buying cameras nikon/canon it's all good, it's just what you prefer and feel more natural to use. To me that was canon, plus I have loads of friends on canon means you can try out/borrow their lenses woo!
  18. I dislike. It's so much style over substance full of flaws. The thing is I can kind of see what they were trying to do and where they were going with it but they've ditched a lot of useful functionality and missed a few tricks. Like the home page should be customisable, we should have customizability over how our feeds are displayed, and jeeze bring back the space The new pricing model is a load of tosh too. 2tb for £327!! £32 to remove ads when I can use adblock for free. Plus you lose the pro features like stats and referrals. Flickr looks like a glorified fb gallery, especially with the header image (the only customisable addition to the site which is an awkward shape and size, though it seems perfect for photos from a Spinner to fit into it ha). Sorry I'm definitely not in love with it, I know they wanted to make it more image focused (but encouraging uploads of high res images means they're easier to steal under the abandon works law thing going on at the moment) but it's all a bit too much. The thing is I love the iphone app redesign, I think it works brilliantly for that, but sigh meh
  19. Just seen one, awww your cute awkward smile face. N looks all lovey dovey too.
  20. shutterspeeds for dummies, hope it improves more creatively Ooo what ideas are going with? Or do we have to wait and see. Good luck hope it goes well
  21. I've scanned my first roll and I struggled with getting all the detail I wanted. Then again it was fisheye and it wasn't shot in the brightest conditions. Hoping the next roll will be better.
  22. Curious, how does the filming use affect the condition of the body? Also curious about the shutter count too, does the body degrade over time? Because I was under the impression if you looked after it they keep well.
  23. Boo! I'm still waiting to even start my camera fund My 400d is so old now, I just feel like waiting and doing the big jump. Not sure of prices but I know with the mkiii release it's become a lot more realistic in affordability. Boo about getting stung with ebay, I hate ebay for that reason, especially when you go for something expensive. Mmm leica, one day...one day.
  24. Well ef-s doesn't really cause an issue unless you've built up a bank of them. I'm all for the full frame awesomeness, you can't deny that it seems to be the camera body of choice for most pros (cept they're all upgrading to mkIII now bastards - though that's apparently got some light leak in earlier release). Screw the 10% issue! I would much prefer a 5dmkii than my 400d right now. At the moment it annoys me with its own lack of focusing on what I want issue a lot of the time.
