Defector is something like Hysteria or Darkshines. Not a masterpiece,but a great and enjoyable song,if you try not to pay attention to the shite lyrics (no I don't like Hysteria's lyrics...) .

USoE is miles,like miles better than NSC. It's still a bad song by Muse standards,but NSC is their all time low.

Well just listened to Revolt in full... verses are rather okay in the end. Chorus sounds like something from a nineties Eurovision Song Contest mixed with the soundtrack of a cartoon. Dreadful. I'd now give the song a 4/10...

Aftermath is rather good but that chorus man... The ending I'm not sold either Defector would be up there with Reapers and The Handler weren't it for the stupid excuse the lyrics are... I still haven't listened to Revolt in full. The Globalist needs a shorter ending and preferrably longer midsection and it'd be the best song on the album. It's great. Drones... well... nothing saves that one. It's just well...

Well it could be shorter indeed. But it's there with Mercy,DI and Psycho in the "mediocre" part of the album. It's just sad the "good/great" portion of the album only includes 3 songs.

Aftermath would be 8/10 but for cheesy chorus... I think.

Am I the only one who likes the first part? It's kind of Radiohead meets Pink Floyd meets Abso Muse imo... The middle riff is musical gold.

Dead Inside : Meh. A nice electropop track,it's certainly not musically bad,but doesn't quite do it for me. 6/10. Drill Sergeant + Psycho : Nice riff,but all in all a repetitive,boring,standard alt rock track. Oh,and leave my ass alone,Matt you fkin perv! 7/10 Mercy : A nice piano song,much like Starlight,but not what I'd except from a serious rock band. 6/10 Reapers : One of two gems. Absolute musical gold. The solo is the best Matt has ever done by far. 10/10 The Handler : The other gem of this album,a simply "Muse" track. That's the type of track that made me like them in the first place. 10/10 JFK + Defector : Musically solid,but loads of unnecessary Queen inspiration and the lyrics are the worst in the album. 8/10 Revolt : This doesn't exist. *repeats constantly 0/10 Aftermath : Closest to an actual rock ballad Muse have ever got. Guitar work at the start is great,but lyrics are bad and the vocal melody is rather cheesy. 7/10 The Globalist : While musically it's great,lyrically it's not,while the heavy section should have definitely been longer (or the USoE section shorter). 7.5/10 Drones : Erm,sorry,what? 2/10 Overall it's level with TR and Showbiz. 6.5/10.

Defector is a solid alt rock track lost in awful lyrics and unnecessary Queen vocal harmonies.

Not sure about this... I like the guitar work at the start,but the rest... It's not bad,but the vocal melody is a bit of a cheesefest.

What I was going to say as well. If this had better lyrics and no/more subtle Queen harmonies it would be up there with Reapers and The Handler.

I certainly wouldn't expect e.g. Revolt at Download (imagine the scenes),but all except Drones could be played live I reckon.

Revolt... Oh man... Revolt. Oh. That's... terrihorrible. Worse than Big Freeze and GL COMBINED. Defector is great. Aftermath is a bit cheesy,yes,but good. Drones is... erm... weird. Globalist is not the track that was hyped,but it's not bad.
