10 for BHAR? wow, interesting
BHaR is my masterpiece along with QOTSA - SFTD
-
I still remember when you hated Dead Inside
Oh, I did but the thing that really turned me around on that was how well it worked with Psycho IMO. The progression of the concept in particular. I thought it was really interesting and elevated both it and Psycho.
TBH more often than not I hate Muse songs on first listen
Happened with New Born, Dead Inside, Madness etc.
Stuff like Revolt & Handler I never 'hated' just didn't really 'get' them at first. happy to say I like them now though
-
I've given it 8 as well OoS is a solid 9 though and I don't think Drones stretches that far for me. Who knows, maybe in a few months or weeks. But yeah Defector and Revolt have grown on me massively
BHaR - 10
Abso - 9
OoS - 8.5
Drones - 8
-
For me now it's :
Absolution > Drones > Oos > Bhar ...
Never been a big fan of oos as an album (some songs are incredibly amazing tho)! Really excited to see Drones live! Even revolt (which I love) could be a killer live!
BHaR>Abso>OoS>Drones

Blimey, you've turned around
Not that much I'd say. I always said it was at least a 7/10 TBF.
I warmed up to a couple of the tracks (Handler & Revolt) and now it's all quality.
-
Album is now a very solid 8/10 from me. I enjoy it almost just as much as OoS!
-
Aftermath is beautiful
Listening now, lovely guitar work
For some reason it reminds me of Westlife or something
Probably because of the backing vocals, they sound weird for Muse IMO
-
The only two songs that I've not had much exposure to right now are Aftermath and Drones but going to give them a good few listens now.
would be funny reading the youtube coments if they release revolt nextI literally can't with for that tomorrow night
-
Agreed. I'm glad it's taken a while to get under my skin though, because too much of 2nd Law was cool on first listen then terrible a few months later
Yeah, I had a slight disappointed feeling last night but it's grown on me loads today. Typical Muse really...
-
Oh man, I love this album
-
So every song for me is 7/10 at least except Drones. Just really been digging Revolt there
Very catchy
-
Right I'm digging The Handler more now. Really like Matt's singing in it!
-
The ending of Interstellar is fine FFS
-
The "You thought I was weak" in Defector is totally Alanis Morissette
-
We're proud of you. Still, I heard complains from The Handler about you, it wants to be loved
Like I said I don't dislike it, I just don't really love it. It reminds me of Fury, which I've never been a big fan of either TBH.
I am all up for tolerance and opinions but how the actual fuck can somebody pick Revolt over The Handler. Both 7/10's IMO
-
Think I'm ready to rank this above The Resistance now.
-
The Handler that low?? You not a fan????
Yes and no. I think for me personally is suffers from being in between two of my favourite songs of the album.
Don't think it's a bad song would call it a 7/10 (being generous)
I don't think there is a great deal wrong with it I'm just not 'feeling' it.
-
Learn to multiquote, please.
He got sucked in the drones system, doesn't mean everyone is in the system. And I don't think it's so precise, it's just that he lost the capabity and the concept of love, which he rediscovers in aftermathThis.
-
no no no, Globalist isn't part of the narration, it's a separate song along with Drones. The end of the narrative is he finds love (iirc)
Yeah, The Globalist is about a dictator isn't it?
-
Why not call the album 'friendzoned', it would make so much more sense...
-
Order of Preference:
Defector
The Globalist
Reapers
Dead Inside
Mercy
Psycho
Revolt
The Handler
Aftermath
Drones
-
not entirely sure how this has happened. Quickest turnaround ever
Desensitization
-
fucking hell, that's almost exactly what I think I was expecting originally from Globalist, just without the vocals. Eerie
It's not a million miles away, just doesn't have the riffage I was expecting (which they put in the globalist TBF!)
-
Think the lesson there is to not base your expectations of a song on short out-of-order/out-of-context clips.
There was little of The Globalist that we didn't hear really. Just that last section...

Hoodoo is the best Muse song ever made IMO
Nothing wrong with Exo-Politics!
