Wasn't that one its first performance as well? My favourite TaB is either that one or Wembley '11.
Must've been an amazing gig, that one.
(Unless you're actually talking about the other 2010 gig and just mentioned the date there
)
-
Nah, it looks pretty good in person!
-
You're just jealous.
-
[spoiler=Not as great pictures as Bucket's pictures, but...]
And here is the guitar before the pickup change:
-
Sue him for plagiarism.
WAT. I knew you had the amp but the tele too? Fuck
What pickups did you change to?
I know, it's weird
Iron Gear. Wasn't really a fan of the Pearly Gates pickup, and I figured that I might as well just change the neck pickup too.
-
Bucket, you goddamn copycat. Now you have the exact same guitar and the exact same amp as I have
The only difference is that I've changed the pickups on my tele.
-
And here I was, thinking that I was the only one around here with a HT-20...though I might sell mine soon.
Great cover though, Kueller

Feeling Good.
Just because I'm hearing detail in it that I've never heard before, like all the guitar parts and the nature-like ambient textures.
-
Oh, that. I didn't even remember that part at all.
-
Think of when he uses it live. You can hear the same part in the studio version, between the verse and second news presenter speech
Isn't he just using the whammy there?
-
Well there is, just not in that bit
I can write out a tab if anyone wants.
Well, in what bit there is, then?
-
so iv ebeen playing it wrong then?.. for the very first part of the solo, ive been sliding from 1st frett to 19th, and then back up on my E-dropped-to-an-A string, then for high pitched parts after that i did 3rd frett harmonics on the A or D string whammy'd up one octave, then the slides again, then it's the Kaoss Pad part, then a slide from 19th to 1st on the dropped A string, then 3 fast consecutive strikes behind the nut, then slides and a Kaoss Pad part again, is this totally wrong?
Watch the Making Of Unsustainable video. You can see what Matt's playing there.
Also, as MFC already said, no kaoss pads were used (or harmed) in the recording of the song.
-
The stuttering effect thing I still can't figure out. Looking at the making of he's not picking the notes it just does it automatically.
I thought that was just rocking the whammy up and down very fast or something?
-
Controversial opinions?
Big Freeze is better than Supremacy.
(And I know I once said I didn't like Big Freeze at all)
-
lol
The answer to everything.

Something doesn't have to be high or strong to sound good. And no one said the words impressive or interesting. In most cases I think people just spaff over anything that's different from the studio versions because it's different from the song they've listened to too many times to count.
But in this case it definitely adds something to an otherwise booooring song.
Oh and it IS kinda high.
I wasn't really saying that to anyone in particular, the words interesting and impressive came from the general opinion of the youtube comments, where some people seem to imply that that Fury falsetto would be one of the greatest falsettos ever from Matt. And although it indeed is quite high and all, to me it sounds more like weak distorted whining than anything else. Just my opinion, of course.
Oh and I know it's opinions and all, but the falsetto doesn't really make the last chorus better in any way. Now if Matt sang it the normal way and Chris would be doing some backing falsetto...
-
What was so interesting or impressive about that Fury falsetto? It's not that high or even very strong, and I'd much prefer hearing Matt sing the last chorus in a normal way.
The performance itself sounded okay. A bit messy, but could be just the recording.
-
Well that's odd, considering Chris is listed as backing vocals on the studio version. But as I said, the point I was making still stands. It could Justin Beiber doing the studio vocals for all that matters, but live they have never seemed as clear, to me, until itunes!
I'm fine with the backing vocals being loud, but not so loud that they completely drown out Matt at times. Honestly, Chris' mic was way louder than Matt's at iTunes festival and that's one reason why KoC sounded so bad there.
And also, when you're actually seeing them live yourself, the backing vocals sound pretty clear usually. Might depend on the venue, of course.
-
Care to elaborate? I'd say its the best of all of them...It's the first time the studio versions sound like the live tracks, from what we've heard so far...The older (well, first four maybe) albums sound completely different, and lack that extra punch in the studio versions...That's how I see it anyway...
OoS sounds really "live" to me. But opinions and all, hey.

Rare B-sides = Nishe
Although all the joking aside, I don't think Morgan is a very reliable source as he has little say regarding the setlists.
-
When/where was this?
In this one http://board.muse.mu/showthread.php?t=87432
Chris said something along the lines of that they would like to play some old songs too, but they feel it would be unfair to the new fans.

hmm and what about high and low knobs ?
He talked about treble, which is the high knob, and bass, which is the low knob.
Sorry for double post!
EDIT: wasn't a double post, actually
