  1. They're so bad, they're good!

    That's an awesome video

I just checked, and they're playing in Vancouver! :awesome: They're here May 12. You're going, then? (Not to that concert, of course :p)

    No problem

    How's your weekend going?

  2. Thanks, that's good to hear ;)

I do really want to, but tickets are expensive. Then again I've never been to a concert before so I don't know if it's an average price or expensive or cheap :erm:... all tickets are over $100 each except for ones on the upper level of the arena, which are pretty far. Same where you are?

Same here - one of the reasons I ate a lot :chuckle:

Ahh, yard work. Productive but tiring... hope you feel better!

    No problem

Can't go wrong with Mythbusters. :yesey:

Aww, hope you get to soon! :(

  3.

Definitely! I think... it was better than him getting arrested...

Haha, I just figured out how to do spoilers :$

Ahh dear  but at least you liked them!

I might try to see them while in theatres, not sure yet...

It's going very well! Relaxing as I thought . Ate a lot of DQ ice cream cake last night :$ and I mean a LOT.

    How's yours going?

    Myth Busted! Nice. :yesey:

I was just watching Mythbusters actually... the one with the ninja catching arrows out of the air. :awesome:

  4. Glad you do! :awesome:

    :chuckle:

Yes it was, and Mr. Harvey and his little laughs were so creepy...

I want to see both of those as well, especially Paul :chuckle:. Hope you get to see one of them!

Also Source Code and Insidious look like good movies.

  5. They are, aren't they? :awesome: I need to buy one too... for now it's only my belt :chuckle:

Yeah you wouldn't like driving around Vancouver then...

    Thanks

Watching The Lovely Bones tonight, which will be disturbing... other than that I've got a family dinner tomorrow. Really, it will be a relaxing weekend! What about you?

  6. It's really interesting - they have t-shirts with astronauts hitchhiking to the next dimension, etc - perfect for physics nerds like me :chuckle:

    It's very electronic!

Not really. :chuckle: We also have angry and impatient drivers (lots of road rage going on) :noey:. When I was driving through Washington, I was amazed at how calm everyone was compared to Vancouver!

Cool :awesome:; I haven't been to either.

Yes; her name is Caper. It's an old picture though - she looks a lot older now.

  7. Same here, pretty relaxed

:chuckle: I know! Still, it's on imaginaryfoundation.com. Pretty cool site, too.

I agree - it does look very... blue-grey, if that makes any sense ... but I like the band that did the music for it. Daft Punk :awesome:

I was pretty embarassed :chuckle:, but everyone was really nice. That's one thing I noticed about the people of Mexico - as you said they are pretty poor, but I thought they were friendlier than my fellow Vancouverites.

What parts have you been to?

  8. Hola, amigo! How are you?

Speaking of Einstein's theory of relativity, I've even got a belt with his equations scrawled across it. :chuckle:... Yes, I do wear it! ;)

    :yesey:

I watched a little video that the Japanese government is using to explain the radiation disaster to kids. Nuclear Boy has an upset stomach and doctors are giving him medicine made from seawater...

Thanks, I will see it! That and the latest Tron movie are my priorities. Did you ever see it?

I really enjoyed it, and now I know how to say a few more things in Spanish . Although it was a bit embarassing... someone asked me "como estas?" and I thought they were asking for my name! :$

I was in Puerto Vallarta... maybe it's the same where you've been in Mexico, but it was a funny experience for me having people every few seconds asking me if I wanted tequila, cuban cigars, or a taxi!

  9. :chuckle:

Of the people who were patient enough to listen to me go on about my physics (:$:chuckle:), none of them got them.

The Vancouver one is part of Einstein's theory of relativity, so if you are in a stationary thing like a city (Vancouver), the train is moving. However if you are in the moving train and imagine it as the thing that is stationary, then Vancouver is moving (relative to the train). It's really complicated! But that's Einstein for you ;)

The other one is just like how speed is measured in metres per second, or miles per hour, etc. One Pascal, the unit of pressure, is measured in Newtons (force) per square metre. And since Pascal is also a person...

Ahh I'm not making sense! You can probably tell that I love my physics. :chuckle:

Yeah, also that the Japanese government may not be completely truthful to the people of Japan about it! Also the Fukushima 50... it's all really sad. :(

    Still, must've been scary!

Haven't seen that movie yet! It's always the movie that I consider at the video store and then decide against it...

Hmmm... I think it's fine, compared to many others on this board, but then I'm a fellow horror movie fan :awesome:. I don't know! I like it.

I'm going to Mexico on Saturday for a week, hadn't actually realized I was leaving so soon!

  10. Maybe I should try that :shifty:... :awesome:

    Thank-you! :awesome:

Here are some that I remembered :

    - "Einstein, when is Vancouver stopping by the train?"

    - All the great physicists of history were playing hide-and-seek. Einstein was counting to 100 while all the other physicists hid. Instead of hiding, however, Newton just stood where he was and drew a square metre around him. When Einstein opened his eyes and started looking for people, he noticed Newton. "Newton, you're out! Why didn't you hide?" he asked, to which Newton replied "I am one Newton per square metre. Therefore I am Pascal. Pascal is out!"

    - Why did the chicken cross the Mobius Strip? To get to the same side.

    - A neutron walked into a bar. "How much for a beer?" The bartender replied: "For you, no charge."

 There are plenty more where they came from. :chuckle:

Glad to hear that, and thanks hopefully I will as well.

Yeah, I was so relieved! Still, I'm worried about the nuclear reactor.

Did California feel any effects from the tsunami?

Yeah, never nice when that happens. No good movies to watch?

Aside from the Olympics my weekend sounded pretty much like yours.

  11. Oh I know, it makes it sound so serious. "Yes, I went to the Olympics..."

It went really really well, surprisingly. We didn't expect it at all but my team got a gold medal!!! :awesome:

(By the way, physicists tell really bad jokes ... my suspicions were confirmed at the competition yesterday :chuckle:)

Funnily enough I caught a cold yesterday and I'm pretty sick as well. Both of us, now :(... hope you feel better soon!

I actually managed to contact them and they're all okay!

How was your weekend? Aside from being sick, of course :(

  12. Thanks, really hope I can go! :D

Yeah, it would be really loud! Worth it, though.

Calculus. Always calculus :noey:. And physics! I'm doing the Physics Olympics tomorrow, and I've got to be ready. :chuckle: I do think the Physics "Olympics" are a sport... for the mind. :chuckle:

Aww that sucks, hopefully it will pass and you won't get more sick!

Yeah, it really is... I have some friends there too, and my brother's girlfriend is in Sendai. No way we can contact them to make sure they're all right :(

  13. Planning too, really hope I can make it! It would be amazing! :awesome: It would be my first concert as well...

    I hope you can. :D

    Nice when that happens.

Haven't seen Children of Men, but I did (unfortunately) see Epic Movie. :chuckle:

Just studying, not too exciting. No good movies lately, for me...

  14. Yeah, she probably did stab Beth - I highly doubt Beth would've just started doing that to herself. Also, why did she have that knife in the first place? Haha, indeed, lots to discuss! :yesey:

There are also people talking about how Black Swan could have something to do with MK Ultra/mind control... :p

My thoughts exactly on the mom and her art room. She was scary how overbearing she was, and when she was crying while painting all those pictures, it was creepy...

Thanks :awesome:, I hadn't seen that one before! There are so many interviews from just after the Grammys...

  15. Funny how people could have such a different reaction to horror movies, I mean they're should all be pretty scary.

Ready for one of my long explanations? :p It's based in the mid to late 20th Century, which I think is either an alternate universe or the future (to the guy who wrote the book that it was based on, if that makes sense! Anyways...). There are English boarding schools where children - genetically engineered clones - are being brought up just so that they can donate their organs when they're older. The film centres around three of these people, and they know they will die soon but they want to live their life out/love/etc...

So will be you be able to see them play?

I know! :awesome: Your avatar is awesome!

  16. I have to flap my arms, and the harder a flap the faster/higher I go. I get tired pretty easily, though :chuckle:

It's actually snowing here, for the first time in months.

Never good when you're watching a boring horror movie. :noey:

I just saw Never Let Me Go last night, and it was fantastic. Sad though...

    Really? Lucky! :p

I hope they make a detour up north...

    Pan's Labyrinth! :awesome:

  17. Interesting, I've had a lot of dreams like that. Just a few nights ago, even.

This is a bit of funny question: how do you fly in your dreams? :p

    That's good!

Aww no! Wow, it's been a while since you've had snow. Do you think chances are you will pretty soon?

  18. I've had some really weird dreams too. :p Never a zombie invasion, though. I wish I had one like that!

    I can only imagine. :chuckle:

I hate dreams when you wake up but are actually still dreaming - you think you're awake, and then something scary happens.

The worst I've woken up to was a ladybug. Not as scary as a spider though. :chuckle:

Were you able to talk to your group?

    How does your weekend look?

  19. Me too, I've held one and I don't mind them.

Yeah, I wonder too, I know we've pondered the zombie situation, but there are a whole lot of other horror scenarios of course!

Random bit of trivia: apparently we will have swallowed about 7 spiders in our lifetime, while sleeping. Don't know why I just told you that :p, I guess it fits with the horror theme.

Haha, yeah! Maybe a mosquito-fairy. Lovely. :chuckle:

  20. I'm glad I wasn't in their place, not knowing that the scorpions were harmless! The tarantulas, too...

I've never even had a leech on me, I'm just scared of the idea.

I was a lot younger, maybe 11? I was in Mexico, doing some shallow snorkelling and I stepped on a patch of sand amongst all the rocks and a sting ray started wriggling! It had been under the sand... then it just swam away. I didn't get stung or anything, luckily. :p

Mosquitos! The sound they make is so awful, especially when it's dark and you can't see it and you can just hear the buzzing get closer and closer...

Ahh, you're making it sound like a horror movie!

Just had a thought: bats don't actually suck people's blood, mosquitos do, so Edward from Twilight is more like a mosquito than a bat!

  21. You mean when he and Jamie had to do the fear test? Just watching that I was uncomfortable... I'm usually really good around spiders/bugs, but as soon as the guy brought out the scorpions...

That's okay, I have a fear of leeches, or anything that might stick on to me. Even like sea anemone (amenome? anemonenenemome?). Their tendrils don't sting, but they're sticky. :noey:

And stingrays. I stepped on one once...

Hope you enjoy it! I like the part when Adam and Jamie took the one female bee and were testing how much weight she could hold. They got so sentimental. :chuckle:

  22. Yeah, would be. Although he'd be laughing so much we wouldn't get to hear what he had to say!

    You're welcome.

    Aww no! :(

Yeah, definitely some good moments. Just watched a bug special, and Adam had to face his fears of bees. Pretty funny! Hmmm... I haven't been watching it regularly, so I can't tell you how the newer episodes have been overall. I'm sure they've been great, though.

  23. Yeah, probably.

Oh yes, hopefully! :chuckle: And maybe with Chris, too.

I'll probably end up doing that... ah well. :p

    Hope you do, good luck!

Seen any good Mythbusters episodes lately?

  24. Yeah, I agree (with you, I mean, not the theory :p). I think the conspiracy theorists are kind of twisting everything to suit the theory... mind control? :chuckle:

I know Dom said he was pretty drunk. Oh Matt. :chuckle:

I noticed that! Probably was just being shy.

Thanks, I really need it! I just can't study right now. (more like don't feel like it :$...) :chuckle:

Oh no, are they as you feared them to be? That sucks, if they are.

  25. Me neither, but that's what people are saying. I think they were mentioning some things about bunnies and butterflies, which both have to do with mind control... don't actually understand what it's all about! It sounds pretty far-fetched. I'll look it up...

*searches* http://vigilantcitizen.com/?p=6223 is one page I found. :p

Oh my, what was with Matt? That was such a funny interview! Matt! I've never seen him like that!

Nothing much... I've got a huge Calculus test tomorrow, and of course instead of studying... :p

What about for you? How are you?
