  1. Repeating again that there haven't been many reasons as to why people don't like it. You're the one assuming that everyone just doesn't get the sounds, and that no one here is knowledgeable about noise/experimental/atonal/etc.

    ...

just heard the song. :vomit: could've been cool, but its just so jumbled!

It sounds like a random pile of noise to me.

That sort of thing is either something you find appealing, or don't.

There's not some deep meaning to "nontraditional" music, or anything to "understand."

Isn't that what singles are for? I don't have time to listen to everything. :phu:

Anyways, I've heard some of her other stuff and didn't like it; this just seems like more of a random mess than what I'd previously heard.

  2. True.

    Not true.

No one is saying it's an objectively bad song. You on the other hand seem to imply that it's an objectively good song.

I don't think it's objectively bad or objectively good. I just think people are being narrow minded in not saying something like "Okay this song is a bit weird for me but I can see how it is artistic or had a lot of effort going into and I can see how other people might like it" instead of just going :vomit: like it's such a disgusting and hideous thing.

  3. Saying it sounds like random noises or a jumble and that is why it is bad is definitely not "getting" the song. It may not be your cup of tea and you can say you don't like the song but you can't say it's a shit song just because you don't like the unique aesthetic.

I'm certain that 99% of you guys would say that this is the worst album you've ever heard and it's just a bunch of "random noises" but it is a very critically acclaimed and classic album.

Not saying 90's music is a masterpiece like that album is but I'm just trying to prove the point that just because you don't like it and it is too weird to your ears doesn't make it an objectively bad song.

  4. Since when experimental = good?

That's right, since never. And you also used the term "artsy" which makes your point even less valid.

So you're saying an entire genre of music is bad? Doing new and nontraditional things in music is bad? And what's wrong with the term artsy?

Just because music isn't accessible or people don't get it doesn't mean it is bad

  5. Just because it sounds weird to your ears doesn't make it a shit song. Whether you personally like it or not, it IS a great work of art.

And to the people who said the sound quality/production is bad, it is probably supposed to sound like that...look up lo-fi music. Also the title and the theme in the lyrics of the song make it pretty clear why it sounds the way it does.

(I'll feel stupid if it turns out it WAS just a bad quality rip.:p)

I love how when Matt contributes to probably the most experimental and artsy thing he's done everyone on the forums hates it and doesn't understand it.

  6. Deception.

    Minimum

    Dead Star

    Stockholm Syndrome

    Take A Bow

Not sure if you meant for Invincible to be the first of the "good" songs or the last of the "bad" songs

  7. Theater Setlist. Only thing on stage besides the band and their instruments is a screen behind them to show visuals.

    1. Forced In (w/ What's He Building In There playing throughout the whole track) (Ending noise section expanded to 5 minutes long)

    2. Shrinking Universe

    3. Cave (Matt on guitar and Morgan on piano)

    4. Glorious (Matt on guitar, Morgan on guitar, and Chris on guitar all playing the guitar lines in the intro, then looping them. After the loop is made, Chris switches back to bass duties, and Morgan switches back to his own stuff while fading the loop out (playing piano/other random extra parts). Morgan puts the loop back on for the outro.

    5. Ruled By Secrecy

    6. Endlessly

    7. Resistance (Double necked guitar) (Extended intro/outro) (Feedback/ringing transitions into Interlude like at Glastonbury 2010)

    8. Interlude

    9. Hysteria

    10. Animals

    11. New Born (Matt staring out on piano and moving to guitar)

    12. Map of the Problematique

    13. Hyper Music

    14. Time is Running Out

    15. Blackout (with Matt on guitar of course) (Lights black out)

    (Just a 3-5 minute pause)

    Acoustic Encore: (No visuals)

    16. Unintended

    17. Map of Your Head

    18. Sing for Absolution (Acoustic version) (Lights black out again)

(1-2 minute pause, just a quick change of instruments)

    Encore 2:

    19. Syndrome (No additional riffs)

    20. Showbiz

  8. Forced In.

The spooky vibe and atmosphere of the track reminds me of something like Climbing Up the Walls by Radiohead. It also has a kinda post-rock feel to it in some ways. I especially love the noise ending in the last minute of the track. It would be awesome in a live show for What's He Building In There to be an outro, intro, or maybe even overlapping Forced In. Not that the live instrumental intro version they've played wasn't awesome but it seriously has the potential to be such an amazing live track even if I doubt that's the kind of thing Muse would ever do again.

Edit: I just tried playing What's He Building In There and Forced In at the same time and it really is amazing. You guys need to try it like right now.
