Always good to see Apocalypse Please but the sets have been a bit routine recently.
-
those vocals are like being stabbed in the ears I have yet to hear JFK and Drones!
The two most essential tracks of the album without a doubt.
-
They'd better play the globalist live.
-
So - Aftermath for Download?
-
Has to be Reapers, followed closely by Psycho, The Globalist and The Handler in no particular order.
-
Defector is pretty decent heavy except for the extremely cheesy vocals. Can't wait to see how these turn out live. Surely they won't do Drones live though?
-
Gonna have to listen to these again, I can imagine getting used to the rest and Aftermath and The Globalist were decent. But what is up with Revolt, seriously.
-
Final verdict: album great until after The Handler, after which it was a parade of "what" with the possible exception of The Globalist. The only thing with the Globalist being that the heavy bit was totally random.
-
Listening to Drones: just what.
-
Globalist pretty good so far, now this sounds like Floyd.
-
Now starting The Globalist, Aftermath was a bit too much boy band and not enough Floyd to be honest.
-
First half of the album - so great. Listening to Revolt just now and wondering what they fuck is going on. Revolt and Defector are like listening to Big Freeze twice in a row.
Edit: Actually I think Big Freeze is a lot better. Why not do a whole album like The Handler and Reapers?
-
So yeah, best of the new songs, one of the best of the last ten years.
-
I think I'll need a better recording to make a final judgement. At the moment my least favourite of the new songs but it's hard to say until I've heard it properly. I'm hoping it's recorded more like Glorious than Starlight but it sounds a bit like both.
-
To me Resistance and Starlight are quite similar in that they're both the second track of the album, pop singles with soft verses that are primarily bass with a simple piano melody over them and a loud sing-along chorus.
Madness' is only really getting grouped in the sense that it's the second track pop single I would think.
-
I'm warming to this a bit now, but I still prefer Psycho and Reapers (both amazing). My main problem with it is how cheesy the "dead inside" bits are, but it's a pretty good melody.
-
I can't decide whether this or Psycho is better. I like the urgency in the verses of this, and that solo...
-
Yeah... If you like Madness, Undisclosed Desires (or the less popular GL or NSC), then you'll probably come round to it. If you don't, then there's no point.
Of these I actually think NSC is the best, I guess because to me it's the only one which has any of the "Muse sound".
-
Maybe I'll get used to accepting it like I did with Madness and UD.
-
They said they'd stop doing this!
-
These have definitely been some of the most interesting sets they've ever done. It says a lot that it doesn't seem completely crazy that they played The Groove and Fury in one set.
-
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere, but how good was that jazzy jam thing before TIRO?
-

Would be surprised not to see Dead Inside somewhere, on the other hand I definitely wouldn't mind getting that set tonight.

I suppose I'd like to see Defector or The Handler get dropped in at some point, or give something like Uno or Unnatural Selection another go.
