I was too hard on this album. The first half is very strong. Still don't like the second half, but it's better than the last two albums.

Goddammit, if that riff turned into a heavy chorus a bit like Assassin, this would be a classic. Even the piano part is actually quite beautiful, but because the heavy bit doesn't deliver the climax you're expecting, it takes away from the end. This would be a huge live track if it had one more heavy section. I agree with the poster that said they should cut out the piano part live and go straight into Citizen Erased. They'll never do it, but that would be delivering.

They had a great album up to The Handler, maybe Defector, and then they lost it with the rest. They'll continue to be the best live act in the world, but this album is pretty forgettable imo.

This is just not good. Totally lost it after Defector. They need to start writing more songs before they release an album, Revolt, Aftermath, Drones do not belong on an album. Edit: The Handler is really fucking good. So we know they can still write a good song. But man, some of this is just not listenable. I don't think I'll ever listen to Drones (song) again. Christ.

I think they were so close with this one. If they had made the bass punchier on the verse like in the live version, we'd be talking about a classic muse bass sound. And like someone earlier said, the second half needed a hook. It really does sound like Matt was making it up as he went along. Speaking of which, I hate that Matt keeps writing songs that he can't sing live. I get why he does it, I just find it kind of annoying. I think this will be a great live album.
