For musicians out here, did u realise that all the songs on this album have a connection with the note D (all of them are D major, D minor or G major) except dead inside! I don't think that's a coincidence, that adds up to the cohesion...
-
I understood my problem with Globalist! Then last part and the last part of aftermath are the same kind of music, that's what bothers me...
-
Let's stop pretending and admit that it's their best since bhar or even abso, or at least it will be after a couple of months!
-
Also Aftermath is cheesier than Revolt

Just in general musicians probably love what they are creating while no longer view what they did in the past as very good as their preferences have changed. This album has made me think how awful it must be to be a musician and create an album of what you think is your best material ever, and see it being ripped to shreds by people who have loved your music for years and not understanding why, while also feeling like you've disappointed people who were really excited for your music. Especially as music like this and stuff on the 2nd law obviously are emotional for matt
Being a composer myself, trust me it's true.
You tend to think the last thing you wrote is the best music in the world. Then after a long time you realise some of it is good, some of it isn't.

Also revolt lyrics feels like "kick-ass" by mika (check it ^^) but love this song so it's good
-
Also, am i the only one hearing "heal the world, make it a better place..." with aftermath? (not saying it's bad tho!)
-
Revolt be like :
First listen : "what the f*** is that!!!!!"
...
Tenth listen : "so catchy, love it! "
-
First listen : 6/10
Second listen : 8/10
Some songs really grow on you (especially Revolt, it's not very "Muse-y" but incredibly catchy, especially the verses!) Solid album! Only disappointment though : Globalist... Since the first time i saw the making of i was not so thrilled, and it confirmed...)
-
I know it's not a proper song but anyone else thought that JFK is amazing? i mean the speech + that epic music behind, and the buildup... Or it is just me
-
Defector grows on me. It's a riff that I like more and more. It reminds me a little bit of that song that's played at the end of Fight Club. Only slightly. Maybe the others will grow on me? I have a fast paced mind, so I'll never enjoy sitting through TG without getting bored. Revolt will probably become more enjoyable. Won't get into Aftermath. Haven't heard Drones. So far, Defector's favourite. Think I like the ongoing riff more than Psycho.
Where is my mind by the Pixies? Thought that too :-)

"As usual"?
Well I think everytime we expected something, we got something different, but maybe that's just me...
-
Well, as usual, Muse can surprise us every time. The ending is not bad at all, it's just not what we expected... And as usual, you'll see that in 6 months we'll all be "god drones is a perfect album!!"
-
I feel matt went for too much again on some songs... Those backing vocals on aftermath and globalist really annoy me... Love it in drones though, but it's the point with the song...
Defector : good song but the strings during the solo are too much i think
Revolt : not totally sold but definitely not as bad as people said
Aftermath : seems a great idea to start with, but I see the christmas references, unfortunately...
Globalist : same here, seems good but too cheesy
Drones : quite like it, seeing it's the point of the song
Overall : good album, overall better than TR, T2L and Showbiz but some songs from these albums are better than the one they could relate to in drones (for example, if i had to choose between BF or Revolt, definitely BF! )

Sorry guys, I thought we were playing "who's the biggest joke"...
-
This is actually true though, Tom tweeted it to me earlier
Not possible, I'm with him right now
-
Guys, i don't know if anyone noticed but it says on globalist that it's a four part... Classic intro, ballad with slide guitar, metal part and piano part? Or something else u think?
-
Of course I have! This is a lighthearted forum unlike other ones that use that term
Didn't want to sound rude, just frustrated there's no leak yet... But then again, also impressed, it must be a first, especially seeing that it's released in 3 days (i'm from belgium)
-
sure is plebeian in here
I'm saying that cause I heard the leaked making of and I know what globalist will sound like more or less... The other ones i don't know anything. And besides, ever heard of "tastes"?
-
not trying to shit on everything but why are people saying it'll be hard to top the first half of the album?
Dead Inside - alright, pleasant, a few dodgy lyrics but not exactly Muse
Psycho - cringe cringe, swear, cringe, cringe, oh it's still going, cringe, bored
Mercy - some more cringe, not bad but a bit poppy, fairly boring
Reapers and the handler are great but if the rest of the album isn't better than the first half i'll be disappointed given that the first 3 tracks are fairly forgettable/cringe inducing
Assuming the review is legit
I'm with you on that one, and strangely i'm more excited about revolt and aftermath than the globalist...
-
Drones (album) part 4: Drones release cancelled. Muse disbanded
Matt killed by drones...
-
I was being hyperbolic when I said it will probs be a minute long
Yeah I know you were it's just that people who say that a song is going to be bad just because it's not exactly what they expected make me laugh...
-
Who said hard part of the globalist was a minute long... He said he remembers it shortlived, that may be a way of saying "it's so good I wish it lasted the whole song"
-
He's probably dead by now
Shot by a drone ran by matt...

I think it's because it's a "live album" more than before, they really played together ;-)
