Hopeful for UK dates to be in July when I'm travelling over there but it looks like they might be in June instead. So I might have to travel to mainland Europe for a gig in July.
-
Would be ecstatic if there are some UK shows in July to coincide with my holidays for Glasto...
Otherwise I will have to wait till the November/December Australian tour.

NZ Herald saying Muse will be down under earlier than than we expected.
And Muse will tour here in the first part of next year, according to front man Matt Bellamy who TimeOut interviewed last week for the band's new album, The 2nd Law (out September 27).http://www.nzherald.co.nz/entertainment/news/article.cfm?c_id=1501119&objectid=10828743

Wasn't that the random list that new user said he made up and posted last week?
It's definitely not true.
-
Pretty sure that was micro cuts.
They actually played Micro Cuts on the BH&R tour though...
They sound checked a lot of random songs on the Aussie 2007 tour which they never played live. I think they did both Space Dementia and Hyper Music then.

Stadium style gigs in parks would be pretty damn amazing. It'd probably be close to Coldplay prices ($150) but would be worth it for longer sets/a better atmosphere than an Arena/Stadium
-
Source link? That's fucked if it's true

-
Same. I would've thought they would be playing here in 2013...
Oh well, I'll see them on my Europe trip next year in June/July. And hopefully we'll get better setlists in Australia cause it's so far into the tour.
-
No Australian tour until 2014 according to the editor of Triple J magazine, who interviewed Matt in London the other day
-
Meanwhile Australia will be very lucky to see a February/March tour, and if not then we won't be seeing them until at least August...
-
The presale system is actually quite a good idea. Scalpers don't have time to register to be muse members in time for the presale as it's straight away, and tickets are obviously going to go to real fans.

they're not coming to lisbon.
for the first time since 2000 there's not a single tour date in portugal.
Calm down. There's obviously more dates to be announced.
-
Meanwhile tickets in Australia will increase to around $150 (100 quid)...
-
17 is piss weak from a band of Muse's stature. Even with all the riffs and jams it still comes in at around 1hr 40mins. Muse should be playing a minimum 2hrs long Arena Show and 2 hrs 15-20mins Stadium Show.
-
Yeah the stadiums get 21 or so songs usually and arenas are 16-17, Stadiums usually have 3 awesome support bands too.
In the US and Europe it makes sense to do both because it doesn't cost them as much to do it. In Europe the travel costs are minimal and in the US they play so many shows that it's worthwhile.
Australia is a hell of a long way to go and by doing stadiums they'd get the most bang for their buck.
-
The whole point of coming down here is to make money though. So wouldn't it make more financial sense to play at a stadium 1 night for 40 000, rather than Sydney Ent Centre for 10 000 for 4 nights?
-
I can see them doing the promo tour in January or so and doing gigs at venues like Festival Hall in Melbourne and The Horden in Sydney as well as heaps of interviews and Sunrise tv spots etc...
I'd much rather see them do arenas too, but I'm pretty sure they'll do stadiums here. Something similar to Coldplay's November tour, maybe in slightly smaller stadiums though.
-
SS at Glastonbury, Roskilde or in Brisbane is the best.
If you mean Brisbane 2007 then yes I'll agree, that was immense. 2010 was pretty average though.
-
Yeah 2004 was BDO + August tour, 2007 was BDO + November tour and 2010 was BDO + December tour.
Promo tour would be like a 5 day or so mini tour where they do a lot of media and a few smaller gigs in Sydney and Melbourne and maybe Brisbane. It would basically just be getting their name out there into the mainstream media more so they can sell more tickets if they choose to try and fill some stadiums later in the year.
-
Well they have done BDO in January and then a proper tour later in the year for the past 3 albums, so I think we'll still get 2 tour legs this album.
I just don't think they'll do BDO though. I'm thinking either a promo tour + stadium tour or Splendour + stadium tour

So are we expecting more dates to be announced today, or later in the week?
Hoping my Europe trip from 23rd June - 19th July (including Glastonbury) works out for either UK or German dates...
