  3. Â It does impress me that you're idealizing Muse. Can't get rid of that feeling. And I'm not being nihilistic, I'm being fastidious. I don't tend to convince myself that someone is putting his soul in what he's doing at the moment, unless it shows through somehow. Â Â I demand nothing more than the best from every single professional (including myself). If you're doing something - give it your 100% or just don't do it. Some people settle for less. Some shop at K-Mart. I don't mean you. It's a generalazation of a speculative kind. Â Â They tend to get so when there's nothing to discuss. And at this point there is absolutely nothing worth discussing about Muse that would be tied to this purely Russian thread. The board is full of other threads devoted to Muse where people hang around. Even our discussion is only vaguely Muse-devoted. Â Â It was not intended for you to respond. I was explaining my previous point that you misunderstood. Our correspondence is so lenghty now, that we're forgeting who wrote what to whom and why. Â Â He must've said more. Cause that word was certainly not an insult, imho. The tone matters a lot though - it means other things as well, which would fit perfectly with Matt. Â I can't respond to your other messages, cause I can't see what you're quoting. Â So, why are you not actively discussing Muse in your national thread (I'd be more specific, but you seem to be avoiding the issue of nationality)? Don't you want them to come to your country again and again? Â I uphold your disgust at the person who took advantage of Matt's lack of Russian-language knowledge and (presumably) kept insulting him in a language Matt didn't understand. I think people should make an effort to be understood by those who they're addressing. So, it inevitably follows that we'll have to stick to Russian from now on, cause people have to translate our posts or just ignore them (from where it follows that we're stuck in a dialogue other than a forum discussion, exchanging subjective opinions on things which aren't worth much). That would be perfectly normal in other threads, but this is a Russian one and users are encouraged to use Russian here. So, don't be sore at me if I don't respond to English-language messages.
  11. I gotta learn the small quote technique...  Why do you think I want to throw cakes in Matt's face? I am the one that's being very very modest and reserved in my emotions. I think people who throw cakes or themselves at Matt/Dom/Chris or packages with strange stuff over their fences are the ones who should cause concern. I'm not like that at all. Most Russians are not like that at all. We're very very shy and kind and caring I'd probably not even come up to them if I'd see them on the street. I'd think that inappropriate. That's my way of showing respect.  I'm not gonna elaborate on the touring for the soul thing, it's pointless. I'm afraid my experience with the music business world undermined my idealistic perceptions of it a long time ago. The Muse gig was not the best in my life. I don't think anyone can beat the best gig in my life. Moreover, I'd say the Muse gig in Moscow was not really up to the Muse standard.  Asking something giving something back .... I'm not asking for anything I'm patiently waiting for the next album. I'm not gonna interrupt this important work with "Hurry up Matt, do it, do it faster! GO! GO! And don't forget to tour the world in between..." or something ... And how can you say I'm not giving something back? You know the music market in Russia? Ever been to Gorbushka? All my Muse CDs and DVDs are properly licensed products. I am making an effort to buy these things to make sure the band gets its fair share. And an occasional have a nice day and thank you on Myspace and a couple of posts here and there. You're not being fair here. I don't think hysterical discussions on высосанные из пальца subjects are showing respect. That's just fluff.  There's nothing wrong with the "if you don't like me stay away" concept, although that was not what I meant. I meant that: you think to demonstrate our respect we have to orgy about Muse here in this particular thread in order to convince them to come back. I think that is absolutely inappropriate behaviour. So: two people two different ideas of proper behaviour. Someone else might think it proper to stalk Matt so that he wouldn't feel lonely... Another idea of proper behaviour. As for "if you don't like me" - of course you should stay away from me. I'm not supposed to live my life so that everyone would like me - that's impossible. We choose the people we like to hang around with. That has nothing to do with being agressive or offensive, btw. I'm actually a lot of fun and I am very well mannered (it doesn't show well on boards though).  I'm afraid I couldn't read the last word in Russian that someone shouted at Matt, could you transliterate it? Font problems. I wasn't there, as you can imagine. I went straight home with my boyfriend to celebrate the fun night out with a bottle of wine. If it was something insulting, as I figure, I am sure you'll agree that there are a lot of retards in any community. I'm sure that was just an autograph hunter or a hunter of another sort, not a real fan. Did you punch him in the balls for that? Or was that a her?  You never answered my question about where you're from. Is that a secret?  P.S. BTW if you can do it, why not write in Russian? perhaps other people'd join in the dispute we're having here. Not everyone knows English in this thread.
  12. Oh my It is long!!! I'm not gonna quote you Scoffer, if you don't mind, I'm afraid I'll mess up the post. Ok, you and me have a fundamental difference in opinions. Personally I think it's the band that should make efforts to win the favours of an audience, not the other way around. I love Muse's music, I'm gonna buy their CDs off Amazon, as usual, to show that I remember them. They can get my phone and address from Amazon and drop by and thank me for being a consistent fan next time they're in Moscow. There's nothing personal in this. Bands come to play this or that venue not because 100 obsessed lunatics spam their forum, but because it's profitable. It's all about money. Western stars come here for one off corporate and even private gigs all the time - they get their big fee and leave, no foreplay required. Some don't even go sightseeing. The touring idea made me laugh If Muse ever get the crazy idea to go "touring" Russia, I will spam their emails begging them to reconsider. Their bus would probably get stuck in a pit in the road somewhere on the way to Samara or Arkhangelsk and they'd be lost to the world forever. "Proper behaviour" is a subjective concept. To me it is the kind that is sincere and (now I'm experiencing deficit for English words, so, since you know Russian) бескорыстное. I'm sure that every single person in this thread and all other threads would be able to give your their own definition of the same. So, I'm sure that you know the Russian saying about the устав and the монастырь. And since this is a Russian thread we reserve the right to act at our own discretion. P.S. We're really keeping this thread alive, aren't we? Where are you from, by the way? How's the fan base in your country?
  13. Your last suggestion is very interesting! It gave me an idea that maybe if they do come here, they will understand how unjustly they neglected Russia. They should do much more here! To keep up the hype. I don't think they'd come here for statistics though, I think they get that from their registration software, including online time, number of hits/posts by users... Russian fans do show their love to Muse guys in many ways - e.g. a bunch of them chipped in and gave Matt a fancy telescope when they were last here which he mentioned in some of his interviews (there was a thread bout it in the news section a while ago). You also made a very good point about the tornado/dead silence thing. I think this is very typical for Russians generally. We can go through long periods of time without showing any signs of life, like bears, you know, that sleep in their caves through winter, and then let it all out to lapse into lethargic sleep again. And that's good - people are different, communities are different - some are so active, it's frightening. And another generality typical for many Russian community sites is that we really need an actual subject to elaborate on, we can't just oooooh and aaaaah endlessly about Matt's haircut or Dom's new pants. I'm sure things will liven up when they get a new album out (if ever). But then again, users who know English will probably join discussions in other threads and this will be a secondary forum to communicate with those who prefer to write in Russian. Probably the worst thing of all is that there aren't that many Muse fans in Russia as you would expect in % to the population. The music market here is in a horrible state, it's like a big dump. The music preferences of the vast majority of Russians would make you cry. As a result the Muse concert in Moscow was held in a smallish venue which was halved in space and not all tickets were sold as far as I could tell. Sad. I'm really sorry this thread disappointed you, but actually, there's no reason to be disappointed, it just has a life of its own. What a long post....
  14. ref. your point 2 - judging your words? points? I'm just responding to your complaints of boredome. Although I think there's freedom of opinion/judgement, too. As well as freedom of not fitting into anyone's definition of "cool" and having your own ref. your point 3 - comment freedom to all! I was merely suggesting some fun threads. I love the caption thread especially ref. your point 4 - the weather sucks; you call that complaining? ref. THREAD (the actual points): I guess people just write in other threads when they want to explode over a gig they'd been to or a DVD or and interview. That's what I do. We're allowed that freedom of comment too, aren't we? We're not supposed to be confined to this geographic ghetto I hope. When Muse were planning to come to Moscow and St.Petersburg there was more activity cause there was some factual matter to discuss. Since they're not planning anything so local in the nearest future there's not much to discuss in this particular thread. And so we complain about the weather. And ask each other questions about books. Or just say hi. Also, there are Russian Muse fansites where fans hang around. Hardly any of the Muse lovers I know are even registered here - they just drop by to read the news. Hope this helps you unveil the mystery of the grimm Russian thread.
  15. If you think we're "complaining", you're out of touch with the Russian style of communication. Anyway, we're not here for your amusement. You should try the caption thread for that, or one of the PMTs. Or, you can even suggest a brilliant fun topic that we'd all gladly join in discussing - would be more constructive than "complaining" that our thread is not fun for you. Better do it in Russian, too.
