    Ok. I have thoughts.

    - Lyrically it sounds like Matt Bellamy by numbers. Which in CoVid times probably means “they” are probably controlling us through a plandemic and “we” (Hollywood yoga moms and dads) won’t stand down.

    - Musically: Bring it! Sounds like it will at least be entertaining.

    - Lastly: Is he driving and filming? If so, please don’t. That’s how silly teenagers die. Middle aged parents should know better.

He's in a Tesla, so good chance he has autopilot on. And secondly, its not like hes looking through the viewfinder of the camera. Easy enough to hold an object in the air and drive with one hand. Hell I don't film while driving but I rarely drive with two hands on a straight highway. Who does that?

  2. Futurism sounds absolutely mega. But I don't like what they did with the overlapping vocals during the "Feel it, hear it, see it be it" in the bridge. That part is in probably my top 3 Muse moments all time in the og mix.

  3. Found a Space Dementia rip on youtube. I think this one I'll prefer the original. It does sound cleaner  but the rawness of the original mix seems heavier. Much harder hitting in the verses.

  4. Clip of Microcuts just got posted. Its nice to have something new but seems like the bass got neutered in this mix. But that additional vocal is ace.

"Time to crack on with a new album"
Is the implication that they're ABOUT to hit the studio? Or just a sly nod to them already working on it? If it's the former, I reckon we should be anticipating a new album early NEXT year. Which is fine, I'm just going to need to take a long walk and think about things.

I imagine Matt had been writing and probably doing some rough demos in his home studio but I doubt any of them have laid down anything official yet. Sounds like they all wanted to be in the same location. This is a win IMO.

  6. CE is great, but there are some stylistic changes that will be hit or miss for some people (clean guitar tone change, outro strings, missing phase sounds in outro).

But Megalomania IMO just sounds better in every way. The bass in the chorus is SO good. Previously could only hear that in live performances. I don't feel like I'd honestly have any reason to listen to the OG mix of Megalomania now but original CE will still serve a purpose.

  7. Sorry, it wasn't meant to be directed at you personally, I mean I know its your quote lol. But everyone has been saying it since GUAF was announced and Matt made that comment but I think now that we've heard it its definitely a relationship song. But people still mention that its about Matt's uncle.

Guaf is about Matts uncle who had cancer, but he died around the time the album came out if I remember correctly, so this might be the reason to not release it as a single and why it‘s not played live, but this is only a possibility.

I wish people would quit saying stuff like this without thinking. It's not about that. It's very obviously about a relationship, although Matt mentioned his uncle in reference to the song most likely in a vague context as a theme for the song and its punch. A song can have multiple themes along in different contexts and clearly his uncle or anyone battling for their life can be a theme without it being "yeah the song is about that"

Same thing with Pressure being a song about pressure written directed at "the fans." It's clearly not although feeling Pressure as an artist (and particularly from fans being a theme) while not necessarily being a fan written TO THE FANS as people have claimed. The lyrics make no sense in the context and same goes for GUAF.

"I can't survive without your love in my life, you've gotta get up and fight" is clearly not for his uncle lol.

I don’t mind it for Starlight if he does the barrier walk, without that I’d prefer guitar but it’s not an absolute dealbreaker. Uprising I don’t really like so not fussed but doesn’t change a huge amount of the either imo. Blackout was criminal thouh and TC seems a bad call for it.

I know, I just...would’ve maybe picked a pic from a smaller gig to prove that point 😂 plus they were obvs big enough here so that probs distorts my view a bit, an outside shout at the time but defo a big band, still playing clubs in the US tho

And actually I remember at the time when Muse was announced as the 2004 Glasto headliners alot of people were like What?? Who? And then people kind of took notice. They were pretty unknown even in Europe compared to the usual Glasto headliner.

I actually tried to but when I google imaged 2004 Matt Bellamy Absolution 99% of the pics were Glasto lol.

    ‘Relatively undiscovered’

*posts pic of them headlining glastonbury*

Hence key word *relatively* Muse was unknown to alot of the world in 2004. Especially North America. They were known in Europe but that was their first big headlining show where they took over as one of the biggest rock bands in the world.

By relatively unknown I'm not saying they were underground. But they weren't as big as they were from then on.
