    Finally

Yes yes, I know its been about six years since I last posted but you know, time flies when you're having fun. Look, I've been busy alright..! Ok, I have no excuse.. Just slack.

We have been working pretty hard though on the album and its actually now starting to take shape. Matt is doing vocals on some tracks as we speak which normally means they're nearly finished. We've probably got two more to record from scratch then we might be almost looking at a complete album. Then strings, synth sparkles, llamas toenails, gongs and anything else we can think of that will help us perceive they are finished. The hardest bit is finishing.

    It sounds fucking great though..

Im very looking forward to getting out there and playing this live. Im pretty sure we'll be out playing shortly after the summer. Plans are coming together..

    See you soon,

    Dom.

  2. Muse have revealed that they are around halfway finished writing their next album, and that it will feature collaborations with an orchestra.

Frontman Matt Bellamy joked to BBC 6music that the follow-up to 2006's 'Black Holes And Revelations' would be suitable for classical music radio station Classic FM, then said that he expected to band to be on tour during the tail end of 2009.

*hopefully, MALAYSIA would be in their shortlist..

"A symphonic album has turned up here," he said, "like a full collaboration with an orchestra. There's definitely a few things on the album which are segueing into each other and it's all very orchestral, but that could take over the album, so it could actually be kind of classical act basically, and move away from rock all together.

"We'll be knocking on Classic FM's door, you know?"

Speaking about the band's schedule he added: "I'd say we're about halfway there [writing the album]. Probably autumn time or something like that I should think we'll be back on the road."

  3. A member of muselive forums, "dip", managed to sneak into the VIP area of the NME Awards last night and have a chat to Dom. Here's what they found out:

    a) album is 50% done

    b) it includes the heaviest and the softest stuff they've written

    c) recording reminds them of the OOS recording, with the different instruments they're experimenting with

    d) in talks with the people in charge of the Readling/Leeds festival for next year (2010) :stunned:

    e) possible song name is the atrocity vector :erm:

    f) tour in early october

Of course, as usual, take this with a pinch of salt!

  4. Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has suggested that the band use horses to improve their live shows.

The singer, who picked up the group's NME best live act gong on Wednesday, joked that using the animals is the only way for them to improve.

"Horses!" Bellamy told Teletext. "We should start arriving on stage on horseback. I'm feeling like being noble and valiant is the way forward, and how better to do that than on a horse?" :stunned:

It was the third time Muse have won the best live act title, having previously taken home the gong in 2008 and 2005. :D

Meanwhile, drummer Dominic Howard revealed that Bellamy failed to recognise Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts at the music magazine's ceremony, mistaking the pair for members of the Pussycat Dolls.

  6. Band say the new record is a way off yet

Muse have warned fans not to expect a new album too soon, despite having previously revealed that they have plenty of songs written for it.

The band previously said they were heading to Italy to write new material. However, they have since said they are a long way off from actually beginning the recording process.

Bassist Chris Wolstenholme told BBC 6music, "There's about six or seven songs that we've started work on, but they're still very young.

"I don't think there's anything that we're ready to record yet.

"We just wanted to get started this year, to get the ball rolling a little bit rather than wait for a year doing nothing then get in the studio, and go, 'What do we do now?'.

"Sometimes you can suffer from having too much time off."

The band's last studio album, 'Black Holes And Revelations', was released in July 2006.

  7. Muse have completed the first few tracks from their forthcoming album. Drummer, Dominic Howard announced that some songs had already been written ahead of their slot at this year’s V Festival and the band are now taking a short break before returning to their studio in Italy to continue work on the new recording.

The album, which is the rock group’s fifth and has yet to be titled, follows the success of their Mercury nominated 2006 album Black Holes & Revelations

It is unclear when the release date for the new album might be, but Howard commented: “We’ve already done a few tracks and it sounds great, so we’re just working towards the future.” :musesign:

During the recording of Muse's third album, 2003's 'Absolution', Matt Bellamy became so stressed that he had recurring nightmares about being hung upside down and beaten on his feet.

    Matt's Arachnophobia ??

Muse frotman Matt Bellamy is a keen scuba diver, and claims that on one excursion an instructor tried to kill him by only filling his oxygen tank halfway because he fancied Matt's girlfriend.

    *Enjoy !!

  9. As revealed a few months ago, Mark Beaumont, a popular journalist for NME, will be publishing his biography of Muse in October, entitled "Out of this world: The Story Of Muse".

From a Battle of the Bands in Devon to selling out the new Wembley Stadium, the story of Muse's stratospheric rise is one of rock's most fascinating and incendiary tales. This book features thousands of words of exclusive, previously unprinted interview transcripts taken between 1998 and 2007. It includes account of all four of their studio albums from Showbiz to Black Holes and Revelations. The biography follows their every step from 16 year old punk kids to Wembley Stadium, all their albums and their wild nights, theories and falsettos they experienced along the way.

    Pages: 300

    Released: 8th October 2008

*i'm waiting patiently for the book...
