  1. Drones by far!

It has 2 songs I love (The Handler and DI) and I enjoy the odd listen to Repears but beyond a few fleeting moments in other songs, there is not much else to enjoy.

I hate the theme of the album, the artwork, it's just bleak.

T2L beats it by having Animals, Supremacy, Panic Station, Madness and a bigger collection of enjoyable moments throughout.

    Both still way behind TR.

  2. I'm liking the love being shown for Overture :D

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure we got 15 second snippets of the Resistance songs before album release, then got 30 second versions a couple of days later? Either way, I've never been so drawn to a song based on a small clip as much as I have with Overture. When I heard the full song I was completely blown away.

Still no idea what Matt is singing tho but it sounds so good.

  3. There are so many layers and aspects of this song to enjoy.

I love how Matt delivers a different vocal tone for each chorus. The soft strings, the ominous synths and drums, beautiful piano and those wub wubs. Just a brilliant song and the acoustic version is equally great.

It's getting up there with Exo:Overture as my favourite slow muse song.

  4. Based on what Matt has said recently about having a brass section/backing singers/performers with them for their shows, they have a real opportunity to do something very different.

This album alone has given us some potentially epic show/encore openers.

Instead of the usual structure of 12/15 songs > encore 1 > encore 2 they could mix things up.

Use actors and songs like Isolated System and We Are The Universe to act as intervals between different sections each with it's own themes such as Brass, Acoustic, Big Hits, Electro etc.

We'd get longer setlists, more breaks for Matt without having to resort to New Kind of Kick

    Something like:

    Algorithm

    The Dark Side

    Map of the Problematique

    Follow Me

    Propaganda

    Madness

    Thought Contagion

    Supermassive Black Hole

    Break It To Me

    Bliss

    The Void

------------------- Drum & Bass Solo (with some crazy dystopian dance routine going on around them)

    Citizen Erased

    Newborn

    Stockholm Syndrome

    Psycho

    Plug In Baby

    Showbiz

    ------------------- Stage B Acoustic

    Something Human

    Dig Down (Gospel)

    ------------------- We Are The Universe

    T2L: Unsustainable

    Pressure

    Panic Station

    Knights of Cydonia

    ------------------- Isolated System

    Blockades

    Uprising

    Starlight

    Take A Bow

Plenty of opportunity for rotation in there too.

  5. I struggled with this song for the first couple of listens until this morning when I was getting the kids ready for school whilst I had this playing in the kitchen.

Found myself nodding away to the guitar and now it's very much stuck in my head!

  6. After a couple of listens, TDS is still the best song (geniunely a top 10 muse track for me) but there are some bloody good songs on this album.

    Highlights so far:

    Blockade solo

    Last minute of Propaganda

Algorithm Intro (needs to be the new gig opener)

I think TC struggles with having been out for so long already.

  7. Even though I like all the songs released so far, I keep telling myself that we may have just heard this albums versions of

    Supermassive Black Hole

    Map of the Problematique

    Soldier's Poem

    Exo-Politics

    Invincible

And there is a Take A Bow, Knights of Cydonia and City of Delusion waiting for me.

  8. Drones just doesn't work. I don't care if the vocals are impressive if it's not executed well. It's honestly hard to even listen to for me.

Completely agree. The Globalist followed by Drones is a terrible ending to the album.

Althought I like JKF, I'm glad this album has no Preludes or Drill Sergant's clogging up the track list.
