  1. Chedda,

Is that an old Mackie 8 buss? I've got the 24 channel version, I've used it for everything from rock concerts to live TV shows and even a Denver Bronco's radio broadacast. It's awesome and the routing is second to none, probably the best board of it's style ever made.

It is indeed! It's very nice. I'm recording straight into my PC but using it for headphone mixes. I would love the 24 channel version. I actually wanted to use my A&H 24 channel desk but there's something up with the PSU so it hums like a ho on my balls.

Hey Chedda, wouldn't it make more sense to have your set up facing the window?

Yeh that would be the conventional approach but it doesn't really fit that way with enough space behind for people to chill

  2. I've got a broken digitech whammy IV pedal.

It's on eBay now for £35 plus £10 shipping but I could so a deal with anyone here Bd throw the postage costs in for free.. Unless anyone wants to tell me how to fix it.

Power supply is original and all the lights illuminate. However, it does not whammy any longer :(

I don't gig due to no band or talent. So it's only been used in my house and never been thrown around.

When off, guitar sound passes through fine.

With effect on, no sound other than this constant 'thump' sound that comes through the amp.

I can't see any reason for it breaking other than its just given up the ghost.

It is old and was bought at least 10-11 years ago I'd say.

do you still have this? I fixed one with a similar problem recently, it was a fucked output jack which I just bent back into position

  3. It depends but if you're from stoke desirey would be "desire ee" if you know what I mean? If you pronounced it "desire ay" you'd be counted as a frenchman and shot

  4. well I'm just casting around for opinions really. There's no point buying anything until I'm actually in the room and can hear what my current rig sound like in there

The CJ stuff is done on the NS10 copies in conjunction with the sub. The sub is almost on zero, it's just adding that tiny bit extra. Obviously I'm used to mixing on that rig in that room, and I reference my stuff on a couple of shitty systems and cars so it should all translate pretty well. I'm more concerned about impressing customers with the sound in the control room. Anyway, shouldn't be a big problem, I'm going to set up one of those little transmitters so people can tune in in the car park and reference the mixes in their car.

  5. well I have some Mackie HR24s on my watch list, but the drivers are only half an inch bigger than what I have, so not sure if they'll have any more bass extension?

I did consider a PA rig but the room isn't big enough really. I'm heading up there later, they've just started building the wall to seperate live and control rooms. Maybe I'll get a better feel for it there

  6. I can't find larger monitors!

I bought them to hear the details in the mids, which they're great at. I bought the sub to hear the details in the lows, which it's great at. I understand it's a frowned upon by pro engineers because of timing issues, but it's working for me so far.

Anyway, recommendations for larger monitors? I've been trying to bag some old 2nd hand ones but they're very thin on the ground. I can't afford more than 600 for the pair

  7. I'm sticking with my sub and NS10 copies for now, until I get used to the new control room, so I probably won't buy for another month.

My mate has the little KRKs and they are very impressive. I like to hear the low end you see. It's not that important, it's just a personal preference. I'm also looking at Equator D5s etc.
