From what I understand yes the boards are identical and the pickups are interchangeable.
The difference in the 401 board's 'extra features' are all in the 101s board, fernandes just used small internal trimpots on these features on the 101, but gave them proper pots on the 401.. Shit.. Too many 1010401401's here...
This has come from a good mate of mine who has opened up my 101 unit. I'm not as savvy as he is however so I do stand corrected.. Do you happen to have a single coil pickup you'd sell or swap?
