  1. Anyone going to attempt getting tickets for the Royal Blood gig tomorrow? Hopefully some kind person records any new songs they play :awesome:

    I was there :ninja:

5 new songs, three that were previously known and two new :) There wasn't a Gretsch in sight anymore it's all fender now, Mike's definitely running with more distortion now (yes really) and the other two new songs were really effect heavy with lots of Wah on one of them :)

All in all it was a brilliant gig and if the other half of the album is as good we have nothing to worry about and a lot to look forward too!!!

  2. Which means I've been waiting over a year! How's the FRX? I've had to sharpen the knife edges on mine, but it seems fine now

And it would, wouldn't it :ninja:

Oh yeah :ninja: Great actually, I find the initial tuning is a bit of a ritual but once it's there I can go weeks without re-tuning provided the fine adjustment screws are as high as possible when the all important locking nut goes down :D But yeah, it's great and I'm not exactly gentle on it!

  3. I really like reading positive comments, so thanks for your post. I think that the setlist was good (I like Undisclosed Desires).

I'm not watching videos of the gigs, but the photos are AWESOME. I looking forward to seeing Muse in Madrid.:LOL:

No worries I'm generally a positive person with a slight hint of realism  Have fun in Madrid :D

To be fair, some of us did see Muse before 2004. They are a different band now, friday was decent in my view. Not their best but certainly nowhere near the worst

People put too much weight into past shows against present shows, future shows, etc.

You judge each show on its own merit and the performances of late have been mediocre (on average) at best, whether the people at the show enjoyed them or not.

Both very sensible comments and I couldn't agree more, I judged last night by what I saw in front of me and it was brilliant :D

  4. I think a lot of us have become fussy and constant viewings of the pyscho tour/zepp/anything pre 2004 on YouTube has skewed our perception of what is a good show :ninja:

It was my third time seeing them and I was seated rather than standing, I've seen Emirates second night and Pyscho Tour Brighton before so I've had two great shows. Last night was in my opinion also a great show, it had enough heavier songs to make it exciting for me (didn't care about the loss of TaB though as I don't really like it that much, please don't crucify me!) while also including all the key tracks that first timers look forward too. Something that really did surprise me was for how many people this was their first Muse concert.

I do think SS should have been swapped with hysteria just to help with placing a little bit, but overall I thought it was a well balanced gig and was one heavier track (not Tab!) away from being perfect :)

Band were seriously on it and looked to be really enjoying themselves, Matt was at his best and with all the discussion of his dodgy vocals this tour I can honestly say their was only the odd hint on the falsetto of the handler but other than that he was awesome :)

Feel free to disagree this comment as I'm sure most of you will, just my opinion :)

  5. Honestly, I think everyone's just kinda lost hope after stuff like the cancellation of Assassin in Belfast and suggestions that Matt doesn't wanna play Showbiz :( Requests for this tour almost seem pointless at this point, especially since we 100% know the band's been aware of the hashtags and nothing's happened. That said, I guess London might be one of the few places they'd make an exception.

I'm still debating making some kinda sign to maybe take to the barrier tomorrow (was originally more solid on it but, like I said, feels a bit futile at this point tbh)? Not entirely sure what I'd write on it though, probably just ask for Assassin and/or Defector.

Go for assassin as it's more likely to be played and it kicks ass :D I'd only go for one song so not to seem greedy and throw the sign at them so that can't ignore it...

If it works you'll go down in history (not really but your make me happy :) )

  6. People are blinded by going to gigs a lot of the time. It's the post-show adrenaline high.

Isn't that what people go to gigs for? I mean wouldn't it be a bit boring if you went to gig and didn't come back thinking it was the greatest thing since sliced bread

  7. They look like the Gothic Ghostbusters.

Have you read the interview where they mentioned someone shouted at them that they looked like they were going go-karting

I think Chris mentioned he basically agreed, hence unsurprisingly he's changed his.

  8. Top 5 stage productions imo (that I can remember):

    5. Drones Arena tour

    4. TR Arena tour

    3. HAARP Stadium tour

    2. OoS anniversary

    1. T2L Stadium tour

Pretty much bang on, the Drones stage is awesome but I actually thing the 360 setup creates more dud views than a normal setup as you end up with a sort of 360 compromise rather than just facing the audience in one direction.

I still honestly think the unsustainable stage is one of the greatest stages ever, I was blown away when I saw that at Emirates, how much I hope they will do a stadium tour again. Actually I wish they would dump arenas and do stadiums and clubs only in the UK :)

  9. LOL

I may be in the minority, but I love Panic Station. Such a fun, groovy song. Cool for Sunburn, but bummer no Defector or Assassin. And JFK -> Interlude -> Hysteria is totally WTF.

Oh well. What are you gonna do? (Besides bitch, I guess.)

I thought it was universally accepted that panic station is great?

Can't say I've really seen anyone say anything bad about it, probably because it's just a really funky cool ass song

  10. Are you trying to play Eruption? I tried the other day. It didn't go too well

There was a delay or something with my friend's order so the guy brought us a load of wings to make up for the wait.

    Blatantly reapers ha ha

I tend to hold my pick between my thumb and my middle finger and tap with my index finger over the top.

I'm still struggling with timing between my two hands though :(

And yes I do have long fingers :D
