I think the Apple/U2 analogy people are looking for is best represented in the form of somebody putting food in your fridge without you asking them to. You may like the food but that isn't the point...
Amarite?
-
Actually yeah that would be a pretty good virus.
-
Oh that makes it ok then. "We gave you a virus, sorry! Click here and you can delete it. All good?"
I really don't want them to play at the event. Not because I don't like Apple. It's just that it feels an ungenuine thing to do, with all the "fuck the corporations!!!! You're all drones!!!! Brainwashed!!!!" vibe the album might have.
Totally agree with you on that point, don't see how anyone couldn't.
I just want this album/single ASAP and if they have to be hypocrites for that to happen then so be it
At the end of the day it won't detract from the quality of the music and It's not like they haven't been hypocrites in the past...
-
I can go over to piss in the sink at Apple headquarters too. I think they still would have reason to complain, despite the fact that they can easily clean it up.
I'm not really sure that analogy works
-
It shouldn't have happened in the first place.
For the record, I don't mind Apple, but it doesn't mean they haven't done stupid things in the past.
I agree that people should have had the option to choose initially but that was probably just a simple oversight. If they do it with Muse than I'm pretty certain they wouldn't make that mistake again.
-
Is there actually any chance of them doing something with Apple?
That Glen Rowe tweet lost on the last page is the nail in the coffin for me. I think they're performing at the event on Monday.
-
Just like U2 with Apple users.
Wouldn't it be great if you had the option to get rid of the U2 album, oh yeah you can...
-
Why is everyone talking about apple?
Muse will shortly be getting into bed with them.
-
Missing the point.
Yes.
Everything. Literally everything.
Do you realize how silly this statement is? "If the OS supported them" well who makes the OS? Why are you so defensive about Apple?
Why am I missing the point?
iTunes is fine, I've used it for years with no problems.
Why is it a silly statement? PC/Mac run on essentially the same hardware. There are a lot of games that don't get developed for OS X. It's not because they don't have enough power is it? I like Apple and their products, I feel the need to defend them just as you and others feel the compulsion to hate on them.
-
iTunes is proprietary, locked, closed software, etc. It seems difficult to get the files out of it when you purchase something within it.
Very simple process.
-
I don't like Apple because the hardware and software is proprietary and restricted most of the time. And Apple computers are bad for gaming.
You could run most games fine on my iMac if the OS supported them. The actual computer is not really the problem.
-
Yep nothing to hate about a company who buys Beats by Dre and joins fingers with Bono. Nothing at all...
Oh how terrible of them to give a album out for free...
Yeah many people don't like U2 but if it was somebody better that you liked would you complain?
Oh and before you say "We'll you need to have iTunes to get it" tell me what is so wrong with iTunes?
-
Apple stuff is great, don't understand the hate. It's almost like a new hipster thing to hate on them...
My MacBook Air is the best laptop I've had and my iPhone 5S was the best phone.
No one is forced to buy Apple products...

I think he's packing for a trip to the home of Yosemite

Watched that vid on Pledgemusic, the tracks sound cool but the way the guy did that video really annoyed me
Can he just stand and talk to the camera FFS
-
No point in dragging out an argument on what the sound of the bit resembles, in the end it is going to sound exactly like what ever it is attached to...
I'm not arguing with anybody, it's all subjective at the end of the day
-
agreeing with someone who's username is guiding light is troubling to me, though.
Nothing wrong with GL...
-
i hear the godfather as well (it is faster, and on an electric guitar, let's not expect it to actually sound the SAME, just reminiscent)
I also always got that "italian" style vibe with blackout as well.
Exactly
It's not just me that hears it, yeah exactly it's reminiscent not identical.
-
Right but what you're hearing is the sound of the strings which you won't hear in a mix so regardless if you think that sounds like the Godfather (it doesn't) it's a bit of a pointless comparison
How is it a pointless comparison I said its reminiscent of the godfather theme, which it is...
How do you know how the track is going to sound anyway? You don't know how the mix will sound. Blackout had a similar kind of sound in the solo.
-
Someone will do a fantastic video to Exogenesis and Interstellar i'm sure, how can they not?
I was thinking that the other day
I was actually thinking of doing one myself as the subject of one of my Uni modules.
-
Not getting this Godfather sound at all
Really? You don't think it has that 'Sicilian' kind of sound? It's the first thing that jumped out at me
-
Stuff like this only makes me wish Matt would do a score at long last. Im sure he could do a sci-fi flick some justice, but I reckon that's been suggested enough over the years
Yeah I agree, I'd love him to do a score. Something like the one Zimmer did for Interstellar, which was magnificent. Exogenesis kinda gives me an Interstellar vibe anyway, but maybe thats just from the lyrical themes...
-
The Sicilian-sounding rendition of the main theme, yes definitely. I got a feeling these riffs are gonna sound completely different on the album though.
Yeah bang on. Godfather Theme + Invincible
-
Seen the latest IG vid
Reminds me of something from the Godfather
