That could have been the case....if it was true.
You don't think it's different to what they've done? I think it is a bit. I mean yeah they have piano songs and what not but when (have to generalise here) casual fans think of Muse, I don't think they think of orchestras...

About Exogenesis, too many to quote but at first I didn't like it so much. And a lot of people that I know who like Muse don't like The Resistance because of Exo. I think maybe because it's so different to everything else that they've done?
For the record, now I think it's absolutely beautiful. Have to be in a certain mood to listen to it though. Overture is the best out of the three

How the fuck do you hate Queen?
I think they're HORRIBLY overrated. I've given them a listen a bunch of times and I really don't like their music. At all.
Well they are similar, just that Muse focuses more on space-esque things and electronica while Queen leans towards a more baroque style.Probably why I like one and not the other.. ?
How can you hate Queen?? Sorry, i know that there is music for every taste but i really dont get that people hate them!And in USOE they really sound a bit Queenesc...
About the others im not so sure, but then again they are supposed to sound like Muse and not Queen!
It's funny that USoE sounds Queen-ish because it's one of my favourites on The Resistance

My brother (who doesn't like Muse very much) compares them to Queen every 5 seconds Maybe if you've only heard a few of their songs you might think that? (Mind you, I love Queen, so I don't see it as an insult at all. I just think that they aren't as much like Queen as some people think).
Of course, my brother also says Guiding Light and NSC sound like 80s power ballads (which they do) So he's not ALWAYS wrong.
My mom, who doesn't even listen to Queen, thinks they sound like Queen

It gets hate because they ruined a lot of good songs, like Assassin and Exo-Politics, and also for the order and flow of the album. Also a lot of people think that Easily and Glorious are a lot better than for example Exo-Politics and Starlight.
Had they used Easily instead of Starlight, and switched Exo with Glorious, it would rank higher than Abso for me.
Now that I think about it, there are more songs on Abso that I don't like compared to BH&R..

I love CoD.
I think my least favorite on BH&R is Soliders Poem. Would have probably been better as a bigger epic song like they said it was suppose to be in some interview.

I do like the song. I just think it's the worst on the album. I never find myself thinking "I want to listen to CoD" Best song on BH&R is MOTP without a doubt.

I don't know, sometimes the Muse fanbase just irks me in ways I don't understand. Don't mind me.
It annoys me too, you're not alone. It seems like for every good thing said about the band, there are 5 bad comments. And this is coming from fans; not just fans, but people who are "fan-ish" enough to post on a message board about Muse.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think they're perfect. But it's a bit ridiculous when it seems like every little thing Muse does gets ragged on.

I ALWAYS skip the studio version of Map of the Problematique, even though I love the song, because I can't get over how awfully produced that intro sounds (and the rest of the song). MoTP is one of my top 5.
I find a lot of Showbiz to be unlistenable.

I love how some people look down on fans who know of Muse because of Twilight, Guitar Hero or Starlight... when chances are, that's how most of us heard of them.
Note how I used the words: some, chance and most. Obviously I know there are fans who knew of them long before they were popular.

Uno, Guilding Light, Starlight and Screenager are great songs. Dunno why they get so much flack. Starlight is way overplayed though.
Dunno if this is controversial or not, but Matt's singing at the end of Invincible is absolutely horrible.

Whenever I'm going somewhere by foot and I'm listening to my iPod, I always turn up the volume on the off chance that the person I walk past is a Muse fan and that they notice, so I can actually talk to someone about Muse! So far no luck
