  1. In my defense I was only 8 years old :shifty: Your dad is definitely a secret Muser :yesey: I say you make him out with it though, being a muser is nothing to be ashamed of, no matter how much my brothers bug me about it :phu:

Yeah I just call them Maxoso, combine their names, because together they make one perfectly good dog :chuckle: That's an odd name for a shark, I mean, my dog Oso kind of looks like a bear (my mom named him). I bet your dog could find the gum easily

Female drummers  Someone I know also plays the drums, and for her quincenera she played the drums. Yeah, sorry Broken Bells, I like the video, but the music didn't get to me :noey:

  2. I've actually slept through New Years before too, the 2000 New Year to be exact  I heard something about Uprising being played on Seattle's fireworks show on TV or something :erm:

Max and Oso :D Aww, sorry about your dog :( Did he chew the gum, or just eat it? My mom told me that her cousin had a dog that would actually chew the gum

Well I'm not sure if they'd be entirely jealous, but that doesn't mean I won't want to meet the guys :D

I hadn't heard of Wing Stop until my older brother told me about it, apparently it's really popular among the people at USC, or the general area around there.

Neon Trees is catchy  and they have a female drummer :stunned: The Ghost Inside was okay, I really liked the music video though :$

  3. I somehow managed to sleep through the loudest holiday  Pool volleyball sounds fun. Firework reruns  I'd never heard of those :erm:

My dog used to be afraid of the garbage truck :$ And he will play with balloons reluctantly because he gets scared when they pop. Both of my dogs play with water balloons :) I like watching them carry the balloons around in their mouths until it pops. Sometimes they swallow the balloons, and let's just say the after math is very... colorful :chuckle:

Free music :yesey: Yeah I'm a regular Glee watcher. well it's on break right now, but season 2 should be awesome. Some of my friends are on Glee, they play the string instruments :shifty: and I remember when my music teacher talked to them about it, but I didn't know what it was at the time until they came out on tv. Still mad that he didn't ask me :indiff:

I have to see the LOLz thread and what they've done to Chris :D

Yeah we have Wing Stop. I've been there, like once.

  4. My 4th of July was pretty weird :chuckle: Since we had to wait for it to get dark until the fireworks started I was in my room reading and I fell asleep. Then I woke up and put my dog in my room and was up for a while watching my younger cousins set off fireworks then I decided to read HP and the Order of the Phoenix and fell asleep again. So I basically slept the whole time

It's funny that you can pick up your dog. My dog that isn't afraid of fireworks had to be on a leash when the fireworks started because he kept trying to catch the sparks  I ended up enclosing him in the laundry room.

I've also checked the singles, I like free stuff :ninja: I've also found some from tv ads, and Glee :$ I like Muse's nonexistent fashion sense, although Dom sometimes has some. And I thought Chris had some until he wore an awful flowery print shirt to some charity thing :noey: Someone I was talking to said she had a dream where Muse were wearing t-shirts that said "Fashion Police" on them

    I will definitely try :shifty:

  5. haha that's awesome. my dogs are too big to do much on their back legs  i think all dogs are treat monsters :shifty:

Your cat is funny. I think all cats are snobs though. :phu::chuckle: I don't know what my dogs would do to a cat though, there are a lot of strays in my neighborhood and my dogs always bark at them :erm:

I'm not opposed to foreign :eyebrows::LOL: I bought TDCC's album on iTunes for like $7. That's how I found them actually, I wanted something new to listen to (not that muse will ever get old) and it was in that albums under $7(?) category so I was like why not. their album is fairly new, especially to the US. and they are doing a lot of touring. Avenged Sevenfold is... different, but I like it  Yeah new album, we'll see how it turns out. And I hadn't heard that song before, but that video is win :awesome:

Yeah both of my parents are from there although my mom grew up in Mexico D.F. (the capital). I need to learn their recipes though, I should just film my grandma as she makes mole which is a sauce kind of thing that involves chocolate and chile. I don't know what she does but it is amazing :stunned:

  6. Aw that's so cute  My dogs know how to sit down, lie down, shake, and roll over. One of them also knows how to jump up with his front paws when we say "up up up." And when my dad says 'cookie time' they run over to the treat jar.

I waited years to get a dog, but in a way I'm glad I didn't get a dog until 9th grade because that way I was more responsible. My mom won't let us get a cat though :indiff:

foreign trios :chuckle: Well I can make lasagna and since most of my family cooks traditional plates from Oaxaca (where my family is from) it's a different plate than what we usually have. Flatbread pizza sounds delicious. I've made pizza bagels before... in a toaster oven :shifty:

  7. I must admit, I'm not a big fan of smaller dogs :$ I'd rather a dog knocked me over (which my dogs have done) than have me accidentally step on them or something. I have 2 golden retrievers :D And that's funny about your friend's dog  one of my dogs doesn't know how to drink water properly so he sticks his whole nose in the water also

youtube is where i discovered muse :stunned: imagine if that didn't exist :( and yes, trios are fun :yesey: (doesn't make me any less of a maroon 5 fan :shifty:

our house is that for new years  we usually rent out a tent for our backyard and people bring stuff like a potluck, i usually end up cooking though because my mom works :indiff: dogs around here don't bark at the fireworks, so it's all good. one of my dogs just tries to catch the sparks and it's funny to watch

  8. Ooh what kind of puppy do you have? Puppies get tired easily :yesey: but that just makes them even cuter :D I take one of my dogs on a 1.7 mile walk (yes I used googlemaps ) and he only gets tired at the very end, sometimes. My other dog is scared of buses and loud noises so I can't really take him out onto the main streets, but he's satisfied with only walking like 2 blocks

Thanks a bunch for the links! I like trios and I like foreign bands :yesey::chuckle:

I haven't been to the Hollywood Bowl :erm: I fail at being from LA  For 4th of July we're just gonna be home with family and friends. We didn't buy fireworks this year, but our neighbors usually put up a good display for us  Plus one of my dogs (the one that is scared of loud noises) is terrified of fireworks, so for these past few weeks some of our neighbors have been setting fireworks off at random times of the day (they went well past midnight last night) so I have to keep an eye on him. What about you?

  9. I found out that difference when I went to Davis :p Oh that's awesome, spending time with the family is always nice (my definition of family also includes my two dogs )

My favorite of TDCC is 'Cigarettes in the Theater' :) I've heard OF Vampire Weekend, but none of their music :$ And I don't think I've heard of the others  And I like your roommate's phrase :chuckle: I've never heard of Biffy Clyro :erm: and is Minus the Bear's single on YouTube?

But at least you have a job! And you get to see Muse :yesey: You were gonna come down to Hollywood? (I was in that area like 2 weeks ago). And I'm not sure what kind of tickets I'll get for M5, might try for GA though (they are playing at the Arco Arena). But yeah, I've been waiting ages for this new album, they started announcing it last summer :indiff:

Tell me how you like the music! And I'll let you know how Catch-22 goes :D

  10. Hopefully I'll get along with the rest of my roomies next year, we seemed to get along pretty well when the times we've hung out. Pest-free houses sound nice though

Yeah, that song's pretty beachy  whenever I listen to them I just want to dance haha. And they are also going to play in San Fran in November I think, so I might go see them then too :D I'll listen to some of the Killers that you suggest.

Maroon 5 is like my second favorite band :chuckle: And yes, their next album comes out sometime September, but their video for their single 'Misery' is out now if I'm not mistaken :erm: Yeah, some of the other bands are pretty good, for Avenged Sevenfold I would check out 'Cityof Evil' the music is pretty good.

Yay for HP! I'm currently reading Catch-22, such an odd book

  11. Good for no spiders, I must say, as much as I hate spiders I can't stand killing them either  But the little fan seems like a good way of keeping them off, you're roommates sound fun :chuckle:

It's not that I don't like the Killers, it's just that I haven't gotten into their music. I like Maroon 5 (will hopefully be seeing them sometime in October) and I'm getting into another 3-ppl band called Two Door Cinema Club. I also like listening to bands that my brothers listen to, like Avenged Sevenfold, the Ramones, System of a Down, and some smaller ska bands (mostly in Spanish). And I found out where my HAARP cd is but my brother has the car and isn't home :( I guess the reading can wait.

Yeah hopefully, I might look into a froyo place, I really want the PetCo one to go through though.

  12. Bug bites  Luckily I haven't gotten any of those yet  I don't drink coffee anymore, but that's a nice gesture. So how far do you have to drive exactly? Haha, yeah I think everyone's good at spending money, I know a I am! :chuckle::rolleyes: I have like one song by the Killers, but those are good lyrics haha. Conversions! :ninja: Speaking of conversions, my brother wouldn't tell me where he left my HAARP cd that I let him borrow, I suspect that he just likes it too much  So did you get any reading done? I've managed to read one book in one day before, like the 5th 6th and 7th when they came out, my parents got mad at me for reading to much :chuckle:

Job search so far: Went to Baskin Robbins to talk to the manager today but the person there said the manager wouldn't be there for another 2 hours :indiff: but I did talk to some person that works at the PetCo I applied for, and though he said they didn't need much help at that particular PetCo, there were other PetCos that needed help, so I'm gonna go see there later today :erm: It's kind of hard for the PetCo's tho because the applications is online and what not

  13. Congrats on being all moved in! And how was your first day? (I'm guessing you'll be back by the time you read this :erm:) You definitely need to read them! I really enjoy reading HP fanfiction too, there are some odd pairings out there  I do however think that Ron and Hermione make a horrible couple :noey: and that it should have been Harry and Hermione if anything :yesey: DH comes out November 19th. And the HP world is part of Universal Studios Orlando, Florida :D And they opened it recently, June 18th to be exact. And it doesn't matter how long your message is, it's fun talking with you :chuckle:

  14. Yes, I love LA weather, it's usually like this all year round too  it also helps that I live like 8 miles from the beach so we can just drive out there if it gets too hot :) Yeah, Twilight is just too... bleh. I mean, people think there's a competition with it and HP, but I really don't think there is :noey: HP, I feel, is more universal while Twilight appeals to teenage girls. Jane Austen is there for my romance fix thank you very much :phu::LOL: I'm kind of glad DH is being split into two, for one it makes HP last longer (not that it will EVER go away) but then it also allows them to stay true to the book (although some scenes from the trailer were already off :wtf: ) But yeah, that waiting gap in between is gonna be tough :( Hopefully during that time I'll get to go to the HP world in Florida :D

    Unnatural Selection

  15. I love museboard emoticons :chuckle: And here in LA it's like 75, actually yesterday was quite gloomy looking :erm: doesn't feel like summer at all :noey: I don't do Twilight :p Sadly, my mom and my aunt and my uncle do  I must admit that Taylor Lautner looks good without a shirt on, but he's younger than us :$ I'm sooo excited for DH. New trailer came out yesterday  Definitely going to go see that one  my friend said she might dress up as Hedwig for the midnight premiere

  16. Competition sounds fun :D buff wrists :chuckle: ew old guys :vomit: employee discounts :awesome:

  17. BR stories, like what? :eyebrows::chuckle: Dollar scoop nights! :D went there last week when I went to pick up the job application. My friend and I are both considering jobs at BR and we joked about saying we could do 20 scoops per minute at our interviews :)

  18. :chuckle: A marine lab sounds like fun though :) And I plan on applying at Baskin Robbins if I don't hear from PetCo anytime soon :D
  19. I was never very good at doing all that transposing stuff either :noey: Oh you should have done it! :chuckle: where do you work? :erm: And yes, this will be my first job hopefully :$

  20. I'm usually a light sleeper, thank goodness I have my own bed :p Violin is in concert C, same as piano :) and I checked the site, I was playing some of unintended on the piano :D As for the job search, I'm waiting to hear from PetCo where I applied. I want to hear from them before I apply somewhere else

  21. Oh yeah! :chuckle: I'm glad that I at least get some peace when I sleep, you get kicked? I get what you mean :yesey: music jokes :awesome: I wonder where I could get the sheet music for violin :erm: do they just sell the guitar tabs?

  22. Only girl :yesey: downside: brothers punch/choke me on a daily basis even though i make them food (sandwiches  ) upside: i get my own room and my dad spoils me ;) That's an awesome birthday present to yourself :awesome: And a lot of The Resistance has strings, Exogenesis anyone? :chuckle: I do suck at figuring things out by ear though :erm:

  23. Yes! Pizzicato UD :D And I should of that for New Born :chuckle: I have 3 brothers, one older one and two younger ones. This August my youngest brother turns 13, I turn 19  my older brother turns 21 and then in September (the day of the Sac gig) my other brother turns 17. And happy birthday to your sis!

  24. In high school, one of my friends and I were stand partners the whole four years  I learned how to play violin in 6th grade, and I kept playing since then. My older brother plays clarinet, and one of my younger brothers plays the trumpet. I only know some of Starlight and Sunburn, and I was trying to learn Newborn  But I do know how to play most of Undisclosed Desires on my violin :yesey:

  25. Oh yeah, I almost forgot that you mentioned you played FH :shifty: I auditioned for a small scholarship in 7th and 9th grade, one of the scariest things I've ever done. Not to mention seating tests :$ I've actually never had private lessons :erm: And yes I have an electric piano :)
