I honestly feel like Matt's vocals have been the biggest thing ruining all 3 of these songs. I can't handle the groany, moany, whispery creeper vocals. I'd probably like SH a lot more if the vocals weren't so cringey.

I'd imagine set spoilers'll probs be knocking around as soon as the crew puts them down, with the stage being so low and the barrier so close. Think that's usually around 20 mins before the band comes on? So, if I've got my timezones right, I'd start checking Twitter around 3:30EST (8:30BST). Soundcheck info could be out as early as 10am EST though.
I'd tweet out the set but I'll be saving my phone battery 'til 9 for filming. I'll try and have my full vid out by 4/5am, assuming everything goes fine and it's not ruined by my screaming/singing being too audible
Awesome! I'm actually happy about the time zone difference here because I'm busy at night. Gonna be an entertaining day!

start checking from 2pm

I'm lazy...can anyone confirm what time this gig starts if I live in US Eastern Time Zone? Even if no stream I'm gonna live & die by any posts/tweets/IG clips I can find!

Sober
Screenager
Thoughts of a Dying Atheist
Starlight
I Belong to You
Explorers
Aftermath = Worst Song they've ever done. I hate it so much. Worse than Neutron Star Collision. I've listened to it a dozen times at least. It's the cheesiest, lamest attempt at a sincere song ever. I can handle most Muse-cheese. I can't handle this one. Only blemish on the album.

Logged in right at 10am...got 120 row 13? Now I'm seeing options for much lower rows (5-6 range). I guess I'd rather be a bit up in case the stage is a bit higher. Might be a better view a few more rows up. Oh well. Either way I'm STOKED. Damn pricey though. But...it's Muse. I still paid, and I know it'll be worth it. Can't wait to see what this stage set up looks like.

From what I have seen live (and remembered...so Resistance tour onward) here are my favorites...
Exogenesis Part 1 (the TR tour towers really put this one at the top)
Map of the Problematique (always awesome)
Supermassive Black Hole (I just think this always sounds fantastic live)
Hysteria (all time favorite Muse song)
Agitated (first part set closer during T2L tour was so so badass)
Resistance (another one that just sounds so epic live imo)
Ruled By Secrecy (Whole crowd got silent during this and turned an arena show into an intimate performance...goosebumps)
Songs I want to hear the most that I haven't (that I remember...saw them during the Black Holes tour but I was such a casual fan I didn't absorb most of it...and I hate myself for that)...
All of the Drones songs (just waiting for the US tour)
Butterflies & Hurricanes
Showbiz
Big Freeze (yeah that's right)
Shrinking Universe
The Small Print
Space Dementia
Bliss
Micro Cuts
Dark Shines

I own both the deluxe and regular editions and both played perfectly fine for me. The mix itself sounds a little off, but nothing to do with the quality of the pressing.
Maybe give the records a cleaning to see if that helps?
What type of record player do you have?

I like your theory because it hints at secret B Sides to fill in the missing part of the story
Or a part 2 album like Radiohead never did with KoL.
But seriously, that's a cool way to look at it. Good read.

I absolutely LOVE the B & W. Gives it more of a surreal look & I think enhances the intense nature of their performances.
I love the use of it on the Rome video also. The perfect transition from B & W to color during Follow Me is my favorite part of the whole thing & I don't even care for that song.
-
I've liked this song from the start, but I am growing even more fond of it the more I listen to it. I think the transitions are done a lot better than people (including myself) have given Muse credit for. And the lyrics at the end match up flawlessly with the way the piano part unfolds, imo. "A trillion memories lost in space and time forevermore" gives me the feels. The way it's sung with the music just paints a perfect picture for me thinking about the universe being destroyed and literally nothing is left.
-
I'm starting to think that although Mercy is really good & better than Starlight imo it sounds the most out of place on this album. Just seems weird sandwiched between Psycho & Reapers. Thematically it fits, but musically it just stands out in an awkward way to me.
-
Oh damn this song just came on as I sit on my back patio with garden torches lit & that was a pretty badass combo.
I recommend listening to this song in the dark with torches lit.

I think the first part of The Globalist is underrated & amazing. And absolutely love the abrupt transition into the "fire riff". It's as chaotic as it should be. I just wish the transition into the 3rd part was better. Because that third section on its own is awesome as well.
-
Do you have Drones? I want that one. I received The Handler and Defector.
Yea I got Drones & Globalist.
You got the two I like best.
-
- Aftermath originally sounded more like a bluesy jam, but Matt allowed Mutt a lot of creative influence in this track, resulting in a song that is more "spacey" and "like a cheesy ballad, which is not really my domain"
:
DAMMIT MUTT. So he turned what could have been a great song into my least favorite Muse song, possibly ever. I think a bluesy jam sounds like it could have been awesome.
-
I got those two, actually, otherwise I would.
At least Drones is one of the good ones!
Ahhhh ok. I was thinking of trying to get a full set if I can, but it'll prob be tough considering the cost of the deluxe.
But if anyone (in the US) wants to part I'll gladly throw some cash your way.

I got overexcited when Dead Inside came out, and ordered the "box" set on the website here.
Tried to cancel it a few times, but they ignored me. Oh well.
Not real keen on the fact that there's no separate CD cases, in the event I wanted to, you know, BRING the CDs anywhere.
Plus I can't see myself buying a new player just for the vinyl.
Essentially wasted a good deal of money here.
Which prints did you get? If anything other than "Globalist" & "Drones" do you have interest in parting with them?
-
Revolt is so fucking good. The guitar in the verses hits hard for me, & the time change into the chorus keeps the whole song entertaining. And that chorus is meant to be sung as loud as possible.
I played this on way home from work just now as loud as I possibly could & it made it TEN TIMES BETTER. Aside from The Globalist, this is the song I'm most looking forward to hearing a live version of.
Also, Guiding Light is awesome as well. The live performance on the Rome bluray sounds so damn epic. Before my first Resistance tour show I learned all the words to that song. I've seen them 7 times since that show & have been shafted each time in seeing that one live.
-
RAPID FIRE TRACK RANKINGS:
Reapers
The Globalist/Drones
Psycho
Revolt
Dead Inside
The Handler
JFK/Defector
Mercy
Aftermath
To sum up: Yes I put Revolt ahead of The Handler (I like Handler but to me seems waaaaay overrated simply because it has hints of "old Muse") and Aftermath makes me cringe from "From this moment..." on. I can't believe people rip Revolt to shreds but are ok with Aftermath.
-
I have always liked Big Freeze, but that has always been a guilty pleasure (same with Guiding Light). I genuinely like this song, just because I think it's actually good. It's fun and think it will be damn good live as well.
-
I found myself feeling nervous when this song rolled around.
I'm disappointed; it's actually super good. Made my dried up old lady heart actually feel a little happy for a few minutes.
Haha exactly how I felt! All the hate had me very concerned and then I was like "Am I listening to the same song as everyone else?"
-
Oh man just watched this on my DVD and it sounds so good. I couldn't imagine a Glasto '04 Matt with this song. Would be insane.

For as horrifically bad SH, DD, & to some extent TC are, this song is the complete opposite. I haven't been this obsessed over a Muse song in some time.
It's exactly what I had been hoping for with this Muse 80s style they've been trying to do.
Vocals are basically Dead Inside mixed with Micro Cuts
Also, Panic Station immediately after Dark Side is an incredible combo imo.
