  1. This does not sound like MUSE… This sounds like teeny bopper pop music. I don’t like it.

Check out the comments from the Facebook post… Many, many fans say they hope the album it’s not like this.

Rip Muse , terrible single , millenial song!! Wtf!!!!

  2. ~Drones~

    Psycho

    Reapers

    Interlude - Hysteria

    Dead Inside

    The Handler

    Supermassive Black Hole

    ~Prelude~

    Starlight

    Madness

    Time Is Running Out

    Uprising

    The Globalist

    ~Drones~

    Take A Bow

    Mercy

    MWAH - Knights Of Cydonia

So they played Prelude making me think were were about to hear Survival (a great song). What a tease.

  3. All I have to say is that it is bad form to sell VIP tickets that allow people to enter the GA first to get barrier. I have never seen MUSE do this. So I have to pay a 299 premium so I can cut in front of hundreds of people who waited hours to get a good GA spot? Not cool....

  4. So I just looked at the presale and I see only TWO options to get tickets early...Starlight Experience or Follow Me Experience and both are EXPENSIVE.

Will there be a presale for regular tickets? Even U2 offered regular tickets a few days before.

  5. So...should Muse offer fans a virtual reality gig??

Here is what I mean. We now have the technology that Muse could film a gig using virtual reality media equipment such that if you put on good head phones and a high end VR head set then you could say...walk around on stage watching Matt sing and play the guitar (like you are on the stage)...or walk turn and walk up to Dom as he plays the drums. You could turn and face the crowd and see what the band sees.

It would work...and might be a cool idea.

  6. I'm not happy the other two gigs were a bit of a mess, either, but it's probably better than just losing the money.

The sound problems are an issue, still.

I know two people who left the Dallas gig before and right after it started, and find myself wondering if Muse Inc couldn't have found some way to offer a refund option there, too.

You are indeed correct...there certainly were a noticeable number of people exiting the show well before it was over...a RARITY for a Muse concert. Again...better to postpone and provide the grand experience...than to have the same crap happen that went down in Houston and Dallas.

In the world of corporate America...this kind of crap results in changes being made.

  7. For those of you who are upset about the postponed shows in Vegas and San Diego...I attended the Dallas show and there were still major technical issues...no drones present, Matt's vocals were sometimes distorted due to electronic acoustic balancing being way off...

Don't take me wrong here...Dallas was a good show; but, based on other Muse gigs I have attended...this one was by far the worst in terms of the crisp, clear sound quality you come to expect of a live Muse performance.

  8. long delay, no "weather balloons", but fewer mid-gig problems than what occurred in houston.

an area of growing concern, however, is the sound / mixing. just as in houston, matt's guitars are sounding muddled. his solos are not "cutting through" as they should.

levels are just "off" for matt's vocals -- across the board. he's barely audible half of the time, and when he goes into falsetto...he is completely inaudible. for example, during the second half of feeling good, people were asking, 'is he even singing?' ...during FG, a song heavily reliant on vocals! he was washed out during all of reapers, all of resistance, all of CE (all parts), the last half of dead inside, last half of madness, and all of revolt.

as crazy as it sounds, there is also a problem with the piano -- it's either that the the microphones are improperly placed (unlikely, though, given the experience of the crew), or just general, ongoing snafus at the board (also somewhat surprising). everything is, again, muddled.

also, dom appears to have continued problems with his in-ears in conjunction with the octopad. once again, he just threw in the towel on IS.

other issues popped up once again, but the ones i highlighted are the major ones that need immediate attention. will be interested to see what transpires this weekend...

I totally, totally agree with you. The sound and equipment were way off. At times you could not hear Matt singing and at times the guitar was out of whack...it really was unbelievable. I saw Muse in Ft Worth back in 2010 for the Resistance Tour and the sound quality of the songs was WAY WAY better (massive emphasis).

I guess they have their work cut out for them! Good luck! Just wish this crap had not happened on my show in Dallas.

  9. Auto tune might not work live, but a pitch shifter definitely would.

Every band on the planet has to use some form of voice modulation technology during performances (it just has to be done in this day and age). Also, every single live rock band uses back up tracks ...some just use more than others.

My point is I think Muse is using more of this kind of stuff given that they are now road warriors and touring like crazy. I am not trying to offend any of my Muse brothers here.

  10. I was at the Dallas gig and here are my thoughts:

    1. I am surprised they are having such a hard time with the technology ...as you know Muse did not come on until about 10:45 pm and the opening act was cancelled.

    2. There were some fans who stood in line all day for GA seats on the floor who had pizza delivered and served by the MUSE road crew - very classy act on the part of the band.

    3. They got out the giant white balloons since the drones were not present (would rather have seen the Drones).

    4. (please forgive this comment) It is now obvious that Muse is sometimes using autotune and that some of the music is clearly backed up by recorded tracks that overlays the performance. Don't take me wrong here...they are still great live and are not lip syncing...but I was not the only one to noticed this.

    5. Matt did not play the guitar through most of Uprising (Morgan did). I was surprised to see this. I think they want Matt to strut around with a microphone in his hand (more of a "front man look").

    6. While I was waiting in the GA line...there were some hard core fans saying that Citizen Erased was requested by those waiting in line (one even said that the fearless leader of the road crew texted Matt to request the song...turns out it was played.

    7. This show was awesome...I even got a double high five from 2 of the 3 band members as they exited the arena...but you can now tell that Muse does a whole lot of performances...and I wonder how Matt's voice is holding up.

    8. Feeling Good was played; this is a cover. I would rather hear original Muse songs.

    9. Over all a great show...

  11. Yeah it doesn't sound as fun a step down. I'm still more bummed out with the JFK into Revolt move rather than Defector, which sounds like it'd be more kick-ass live.

As a mutual discussion, so far we've had JFK into Revolt and JFK into Uprising... don't really think either works.

Matt, Chris and Dom - we the fans request that you not play Revolt and instead play Defector - a much better song. Please let us know if this works. I am attending the Dallas Show tonight and prefer an answer before the gig if that is okay. Thanks!
