  1. I really have no idea what you're talking about. Speak in a language that dumbshits like me can understand.

I'm sorry if my post may confuse you. I can't explain it very well since English is not my mother language.

I just tried to view The Resistance from melody, structure, and harmony side.

I didn't say it's a better album compared to the previous ones. I just don't get all the hate towards the album.

  2. The Resistance is a great album.

All songs contained in TR are basically melodious in nature. And I always salute Bellamy on this skill. While the album moves the music in similar style from start to end with various melodies among songs, it seems like cohesive as a whole. Therefore the album passes the test on structural integrity. And most importantly, the harmonies resulting from the interaction among instruments, programming as well as vocals are also excellent. And I'm all about the harmony.

  3. Consistently crap production and relatively uninspired songs (cf. the entire middle of the album)?

In my opinion, it was an album which shifts seamlessly between many diverse styles but still feels unified by an energetic rocking approach throughout (save for a couple breathers). The diversity works beautifully, as there is hardly any weaker track on it.

It also included their first ventures into pop songwriting and electronics, but they are engaging and done flawlessly. It's kinda hard to understand though, how the fans which derided Supermassive Black Hole didn't notice how its danceable styling was clearly anticipated by TIRO. And of course, most important of all: it is an incredibly fun record.

  4. ok, i know this is a little off topic, but i suppose thi fits in this thread, although i doubt anyone would agree with me.

but, is it just me or does the verse of sing for absolution with all the effects on his voice make him sound like herbert from family guy? Ya know, the old, white haired pedophile with the slow dog, hunchback, and lisp. I mean, don't get me wrong, love the song, but it took me far longer to get use to it compared to the rest coz of that. Its just coz of the effect, THEY SOUND EXACTLY THE SAME!

anybody agree? no? :$:( wouldn't have thought so.

anyway, sorry for the interruption, now u may continue your boring lists of muse/radiohead albums.

    lol

  5. My controversial opinions:

I was a fan of Muse before I got into Radiohead. But after hearing all of Radiohead's albums, I can easily say that I prefer Radiohead's over Muse's if we were to compare them in reverse chronological order.

    In Rainbows>The Resistance

Hail to the Thief>Black Holes and Revelations

    Amnesiac>Absolution

    Kid A>Origin of Symmetry

    Ok Computer>Showbiz

    The Bends> n/a

    Pablo Honey> n/a

I would also like to add that Amnesiac might be my favorite Radiohead album. Which is surprising, because it was originally my least favorite when I first listened to it. This album seems to have some strange time released factors going for it.(which seems to be the case with most Radiohead albums, they just seem to get better with repeated listens)

In fact, I'll even go as far and say that the the following Amnesiac B-sides are better than anything on The Resistance:

The Amazing Sounds of Orgy -

    Worrywort -

    Trans-Atlantic Drawl -

    Cuttooth -

    Kinetic -

    Fog -

I have talked to people who "hate kid A" and didn't realize that it is a dance album...

check your ears first...then form an opinion

    Musical taste is subjective etc.

  6. I

....oh and here's another controversial opinion with some Radiohead. KidA SUCKS! I give the guys kudos for being so ballsy on putting out something so fuckin' weird, but personally I don't get all the artsy-fartsy BS.

    agreed.

I think maybe they are a spent force creatively, they simply have no more song ideas so they are just riding the wave of past glories doing jams in silly time signatures while wailing to critical acclaim.

They have a good scam going on really..

To be honest it's like they aren't even trying anymore, they don't have to, because they can still release any old half baked musical doodle to critical acclaim & if you for once even try to suggest this is what they actually do you are met with a firm chorus of "You just aren't smart enough to understand a work of this genius!"

Maybe they are performing some sort of social experiment on us..

"Pushing it a bit this time aren't we Thom? this record is pretty much just an hour of wailing with clicking noises & glockenspiel"

The bitching of the fans here has turned me off from Muse.

    Good job.

    this.
