I'm sorry if my post may confuse you. I can't explain it very well since English is not my mother language. I just tried to view The Resistance from melody, structure, and harmony side. I didn't say it's a better album compared to the previous ones. I just don't get all the hate towards the album.

The Resistance is a great album. All songs contained in TR are basically melodious in nature. And I always salute Bellamy on this skill. While the album moves the music in similar style from start to end with various melodies among songs, it seems like cohesive as a whole. Therefore the album passes the test on structural integrity. And most importantly, the harmonies resulting from the interaction among instruments, programming as well as vocals are also excellent. And I'm all about the harmony.

lolwut. The way the album flows is just amazing. Each song has somehthing in common yet differs in many ways. It almost felt like a concept album.

In my opinion, it was an album which shifts seamlessly between many diverse styles but still feels unified by an energetic rocking approach throughout (save for a couple breathers). The diversity works beautifully, as there is hardly any weaker track on it. It also included their first ventures into pop songwriting and electronics, but they are engaging and done flawlessly. It's kinda hard to understand though, how the fans which derided Supermassive Black Hole didn't notice how its danceable styling was clearly anticipated by TIRO. And of course, most important of all: it is an incredibly fun record.

BHaR is by far the most consistent Muse album up to now. Knights Of Cydonia is a work of genius.

agreed. I think maybe they are a spent force creatively, they simply have no more song ideas so they are just riding the wave of past glories doing jams in silly time signatures while wailing to critical acclaim. They have a good scam going on really.. To be honest it's like they aren't even trying anymore, they don't have to, because they can still release any old half baked musical doodle to critical acclaim & if you for once even try to suggest this is what they actually do you are met with a firm chorus of "You just aren't smart enough to understand a work of this genius!" Maybe they are performing some sort of social experiment on us.. "Pushing it a bit this time aren't we Thom? this record is pretty much just an hour of wailing with clicking noises & glockenspiel" this.
