  1. I haven’t posted on here for a long time as I’ve become disenchanted with the band’s direction. I have continued to buy their albums but Simulation Theory will not make it into my collection, I’m afraid. In my opinion, they peaked with Black Holes & Revelations. Sorry Muse - I never expected pop music from you.

  2. Just had my first listen of the whole album - really disappointed😕- loved Psycho when I first heard it and also like Reapers but apart from a couple of other tracks I don't think it's half as inventive as other Muse albums. After 2nd Law I hoped for more of the heavy style and less of the pop sound but that hasn't happened for me- can't even listen to Mercy!😳I was playing Hysteria the other day- what a track! For me personally, Muse peaked with Black Holes & Revelations- sorry guys!

  3. I've listened to the song quite a few times now since last night... I do really like it, its Muse... Out of the 3 songs they have officially released so far though, I'd probably say its my least favourite out of the 3. Thats not to say I dislike the song, but its not my favourite either...yet anyway, it might just grow on me this.

Considering Download Festival is also only 4 weeks away, apart from Phycho, i've yet to hear a song from this album that would fit in with the Download demographic.

To me Mercy is like a meld of Starlight and Stockholm. It also has a Smashing Pumpkins vibe about it, which is good thing because i'm also a big fan of the Pumpkins.

Yes I was thinking about Download and agree that Psycho is the only song that comes anywhere near the Download type of music

  4. Just heard Mercy - really disappointed and also with Dead Inside. Was hoping that the new album would be more like Psycho - fingers still crossed but I am concerned...all sounds a bit too much like pop for my

    liking

  5. Hoping for bigger shows in the UK this year - didn't get to the intimate gigs

Yikes, yeah this is getting a bit maddening trying to piece together a timeframe.

Hopefully it's something like Sept/Oct USA/Canada, Oct/Nov South/Central America, then Nov/Dec more USA/Canada. Then a full winter European tour.. or they could continue the USA/Canada tour in Jan/Feb (horrible time to be traveling) after the holidays before going straight to Europe.

Of course this is all depending on if they just want to do 20-ish USA shows at full(er) arenas instead of like 30-40 ish with thinner crowds.

You'd think some concrete plans would be announced relatively soon.

  6. Too short notice for those who live in the Isle of Man to sort out travel, accommodation, etc!! I assume there will be the usual gigs at bigger venues? Anyone know? Will be really disappointed if not!
