  1. Verona is nailed on for Glasgow :) they only rotated it with Liberation on the two-night arena dates in the US.

I love Knights but I’m tired of it as a closer. I think they should move it to close the main set. Part of the reason why I enjoyed the 2nd Law stadium tour was because Knights was so early in the gig and it felt refreshing. They should ditch the harmonica as well, it’s become so dull now.

My fingers are crossed for Map tonight but to be honest, anything other than Bliss in the rotation slot.

  2. It’s been removed from Setlist fm now but I can see Matt doing something like that…when they could just play the actual song. It’s all been autopilot at the moment :(

Second and final UK show of the tour for me tomorrow and it’s potentially going to be the first time I’ve ever seen them play the exact same set as before. I hope I’m wrong.

  3. Honestly? The new songs really impressed me in Plymouth; this album works so well in a live environment. KobK especially, wow.

The setlist is all over the place though. I thought they might drop the Resistance/UD rotation slot and they’ve ended up playing them both. Bliss/Map is good but they just seem on complete autopilot at the moment. Stockholm and New Born have vanished…it’s for ustrating when they could so easily add in another rotation of two. I have no idea why UD is sticking around when it’s such a buzzkill live. I don’t think we’ll see Ghosts performed and feel like Euphoria is being skipped because it’s tough to sing.

Hoping for Map at the Huddersfield show but with it currently being 50/50, I’ll be annoyed if it’s the exact same set as Plymouth.

Only 20 full songs for a stadium show with ticket prices this high? That’s not sitting right with me either.

Next month, in May, the European leg of the tour will start. What to expect? A slightly different stage setting? Different setlist? Will we get that strange song game as well?

Anyway, I‘ll go to the gig in Austria. 6 weeks to go ✌️

Looking forward to Plymouth. It's a long drive down for us but it'll be my partner's first time seeing them and I think she'll have a blast.

I think the current tour setlist is 2-3 songs away from being great. Hoping they maybe see these outdoor shows as an incentive to play a couple more songs as, for some reason, the band seem to think that the bigger venues warrant longer sets. To be honest, if they added two of Bliss/MotP/New Born/Stockholm or Assassin that'd be brilliant and easy to do as they're well-rehearsed.

I also wonder if they'll celebrate Absolution's 20th anniversary a bit more for the UK/European shows?

  5. Yeah so they say. I know they feed off the songs which get a bigger reaction but I wish they had more faith in their entire catalogue. If one song out 20 doesn't get the biggest of cheers, is that really too much of an issue?

What gets me is they still insist on playing every big hit of theirs. Most of these shows on this tour haven't sold out which means the casual audience aren't going to see them like they used to (I think we can all agree the band's peak in popularity is well over) so really...they should throw in some more fan favourites. Maybe it's on me as I've seen them so many times over the years but it's frustrating when so many great songs don't even get a look.

And god damn do I miss a dedicated piano slot.

  6. It appears that during my short time with the Muse Reddit, most constructive criticism results in downvotes. So here goes:

    - The sets aren't too bad...about what I expected. They band seem on great form and overall Id say thery're far better than on the ST tour (all the new album songs seem to translate really well). Splitting the rotations over two slots would be better IMO .Bliss/Map, CE/Space Dementia (played somewhat recently), Stockholm/New Born.

    - It's all subjective but how on Earth is Thought Contagion still around?

    - I have no problem with more instrumentals/vocal breaks for Matt but these slots should be in addition to proper songs, not taking up song slots.

    - Is there a single song (not counting the new album songs) that wasn't a single? Why are they still so adverse to playing non-singles at their own shows?

    - Matt's declining voice is definitely a thing...so why soundcheck two songs that are very vocally challening for him these days? Not sure what he's thinking there.

Still really looking forward to Plymouth and I suspect there may be a few changes for the European dates.

  7. Not sure why Madness was cut, I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary during the live stream. Tbh, I wish they would drop it completely since Matt doesn’t even try the chest A4s now but I suppose without them it does make the song one of the easiest songs in the entire set.

Matt’s voice was really noticeable at this gig I thought. He started pretty well but those high falsettos on CE, TIRO and PIB were not pleasant to listen to, it looked like it was causing him a lot of discomfort. I’ve not seen him struggle that much since those dreaded 2014 shows when he had laryngitis. Oddly, he seemed okay by Knights which has lots E5s (like TIRO) and they were fine (or, as fine as they’ve been since his vocal decline began).

Gotta give it to him for the rest of the set, he was giving it his all. First pro-shot I’ve watched all the way through in a long time and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them on-stage again.

  8. It's been a while. Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in.

So this is sounding spectacular so far. Comfortably the heaviest thing they've done going from the clip, I'm so glad they've started to experiment with some different tunings other than drop D and standard, I feel they've exhausted all the riffs in those tunings. Some C tuning stuff would be great too.

Matt sounds incredible and I'm perfectly fine with Chris doing any live vocals if it means Matt goes all out in the studio.

I burned out hard on the ST era because of (like Drones) it was such a long and drawn out build-up and by the time of the album release I'd heard most of the songs. I hope they keep this one close to the chest and, after one or two singles, drop the whole thing.

  9. First sign-in ages but I had to comment on that four-hand version of Take A Bow, just brilliant. I honestly thought he would have played it half a step down. He nailed that final third so much. Even without the vocals it's a great little rendition.

  10. Along with U2's Where The Streets Have No Name, Bridge Over Troubled Water is my favourite song of all time so I consider myself lucky to see Matt give both of them a go!

His version of Bridge and feels different enough from the original (the guitar intro is lovely) but he omitted some sections and sings the wrong lyric in the final section, which puzzles me.

Good vocals though, I had a feeling he would lower it by a half step but he does a fine job of the extended note at the end. I hope he considers playing it live (preferably on the piano) at some point in the future :)

  11. They had a Bliss/Showbiz rotation last night. Dom shouted out the songs and the loudest cheer won. Just like they did with the French by request show a while back.

Sadly, they had to skip the metal medley to save time due to bad weather.

I think it is straining for Matt to sing it, and they think the casuals won‘t know the songs?

    Shitty for whom?

He looked like he was struggling in Mexico. The final falsetto was good but he sounded pretty gassed on the chest notes.

  13. The Resistance stadium outdoor shows were all bloody fantastic, as was the stage for the festival run. Simple, effective and didn't hold back the band from mixing up the sets.

Watched of a multi-cam of the second Wembley night 2010 last night (with the rotations from night 1 included) and it brought back so many great memories, by far the best 'standard' performance I've ever seen them give. Of course, Leeds 2011/Psycho tour/SBE were special occasions but they really were on fire that night. MK Ultra, Map and my first performance of Bliss all back to back, Matt's People of the Sun into and the outro tapping in Hysteria, the Glasto '04 riff in CE and RBS (my all-time fav) completely out of the blue...they were brilliant that weekend but seemed more loose than on the first night. Top 5 Muse gig, maybe even top 3.

And yet, for all the controversy at the time, looking back...the first night's set was also no slouch.

Man, it was ear crushingly loud at the back! And when tom morello came out it was borderline ear rape. I think being higher than the standing crowd probably helped a lot in that respect.

Interesting. It wasn't quiet or anything and the levels/mix were all very well balanced where I was (close to the b stage in the middle), a couple more decibels would have made it perfect.

I am on the short side mind so when I'm surrounded by a crowd of people I do notice a difference 😆lay

One thing that really made me smile was being stood next to a couple who had been fans since BHaR yet had never seen them live. Their faces lit up during TaB, lovely moment.

  15. Belter of a gig.

Proper enjoyed that. Going in blind was the best thing. My last gig before this was SBE so I had already made peace with the fact I wasn't going to see a show on that 'level' but overall the performance was excellent, the crowd were really into it (where I was at least) and I thought the set catered well to all types of fans.

+ the ST songs all translated really well live, especially Algorithm (good lord that piano) and Break It To Me. Only Propaganda fell a little flat, felt it got a bit lost in the big open space.

+ Tom Morello coming out was amazing and you could tell how much he and Matt were enjoying the moment.

+ the production/visuals were stellar throughout, I wish it had been dark the whole time!

+ Great to hear Hysteria, PiB and SS as I wasn't sure they'd be played. Bliss and Take A Bow (which sounded great a half step down) were exactly the kind of songs that I wanted, fan favourites and they really fit the feel of the tour. Good set length too.

    - I felt the sound could have been a smiiiidge louder on the whole. I've noticed that a few times with the Etihad in general though.

    - It's becoming more noticeable that Matt is showing wear and tear on his voice. Not his fault by any means and he still gives 100%, it's just a shame. Quite evident from the number of breaks he has as well.

    - Think I would have preferred The Void/Blockades over Propaganda but nevermind.

An easy 8.5/10 for me :)

  16. It feels good to be back here. Shame it's so quiet :(

Absolutely no idea what their sets have been like since the RAH gig in December so it'll be good going into things relatively blind. Not expecting anything in the way of rarities as I imagine it'll be ST songs and 'the hits' but something mid tier like a Map, Bliss or TaB (which would fit perfectly) would be ace. Hope the Assassin riff is still part of the medley as well. Hid Muse from instagram as well so I'm unspoiled on the stage production as well.

Genuinely concerned about the weather though, I work in Rainhill which isn't too far away from Manc and we had severe hailstone, thunder and rain the other night. 100% gig cancellation weather.

Why my name changed? Why am I no longer Cyborgninja? :(

  17. I'd be more than happy with a Bliss/Map rotation again like in 2012/13 as both are class songs and it's probably the most 'fair' rotation they've done.

Not sure how much it'll show up this time round but I hope they have piano rotation slot this tour :)

  18. I reckon rotations will be extremely minimal on this upcoming tour, even with two nighters I think it's only going to be one or two different songs this time round. Seems like they're really doubling down on the production side of things and like you said, additional performers are going to keep things pretty static.

Edit: then again...maybe they'll just keep the performers for new songs?

  19. I have to say, forcing myself to take breaks from the album is definitely paying off. Even songs like SH and TC are randomly popping into my head and nagging at me to listen to them. I only wish I'd had this level of self-discipline for the LP 2-4 trifecta, they might still excite me the way ST does now.

I've been doing the same and fully agree. I had Drones on non-stop in the months following its release and totally burned out, same thing (to a slightly lesser extent) with T2L.

  20. If you care to look through all Niall's posts, you will pick up on the mistakes.

Anyone can make mistakes, we have all done it.

But Niall has made too many stupid mistakes and stupid comments.

As pointed out to me by some serious collectors, who also use this Site.

If your an Amin on the Official Muse Site, you should not guess on authenticity of items, if you do not know for certain.

And sadly Muse management, think He is the person on the Site too contact regarding Origin of Muse.

And I and a few other members, do not think His opinions about other members, should be posted on the Site either.

Once you make inaccurate claims about members, it's too late, and trust is lost in the member criticised, even if they can prove Niall is wrong.

If He does not like someone, either keep it too Himself, or criticise them in private amongst His friends.

As I have said before in this thread, do not trust His opinions or false claims.

Muse management should contact the real collectors, if they want help with Origin of Muse.

You sound so narked about someone casually helping out with a project that is still very much a long way off. Calm yourself down, there's really no need for all the rambling.
