  1. DID SOMEONE MENTION SCOTT PILGRIM?

Man I was so annoyed when I was told that it would be shown in Singapore while I was there, and it never did end up being shown there. Or here. :( So I had to give in and buy a fake DVD. I've watched it so many times! Not as good as the graphic novels imo but Edgar Wright/Nira Park combo. :awesome: And never did I expect Wallace Wells to be such a fox while I was reading the gp's. ;)

  2. Yeah Singfest should step up a notch and be bolder to have a proper festival. But minus the camping of course, because we've nowhere that's so isolated that you can't walk out to the main road in 5 minutes. :p

Chemical Brothers are coming here during the F1 week and boy, that sure sounds interesting.:D

Yeah, bit gutted that there isn't enough space here for a full-on outdoors festival here, or even just a small one. Baybeats wasn't bad though.

Yeah, I think we discussed this on Twitter. Grrrr being underage. :indiff:

Miele I'm not sure if I interepreted Liz's message wrong but are you expecting!? Congratulations!

  3. Yeah I don't know why we're deprived of A&W. I don't want to know what legal issues they're having or whatever .

It's safe to say that Franz Ferdinand is your most favourite band of all time in this universe, or if there's a multiverse, they'll still be your most favourite band? :chuckle:

I just saw my friend's photos of Fuji Rock this year. Man, I have to be at one of these festivals soon. :(

    Ohhhh yes. :awesome:

Fuuuuu I wish that Singapore had a PROPER festival like that. Three (?) days of top notch bands, and it's done like a proper festival! Singfest = three nights of regular gigs, just with more opening bands and two major acts co-headlining.

  4. Oh pff, come on Singapore! Even Bali has one. :p

I didn't get the Pumpkins setlist, just took a pic. :( But the bassist of Belle and Sebastian personally tried to get a setlist for me. :awesome:

I had a great experience at Singfest indeed! Though I don't think it was one of the most memorable gig experiences of my life, unlike Franz. By the way, it's Saturday the 14th. Last time that happened, I saw them. :chuckle:

Ooh happy birthday kak Faz! Hope you have a great one.

  5. Don't they have A&W in Singapore? I only ever go there for rootbeer anyways heh.

Nice pics Nut, how was Singfest for you? :D

Singfest day three pictures here, but you have to scroll past heaps of Muse and Franz pictures first. :p

And if there's any Belle and Sebastian or Broken Social Scene fans, I took pictures at both gigs and they would be here, at the bottom of the page. :)

  6. I laughed at the "friend" as well. Yeah, mega disappointed with the unreliable facts and countless grammatical errors and just plain typos! I hardly ever read NME but all the issues I have either have Muse on the cover or a big feature on them inside, so pretty much all of it was something I'd already read, word for word. Even the older articles that I hadn't read before didn't contain anything I didn't know though. Oh well. I wished there was something on Hullabaloo in there!

  7. Tee did you feel like listening to Showbiz and watch those old gigs again after reading the mag? I sure did hahahahaha.

A bit yeah, but I've not really been in a Muse mood lately. :erm: How inaccurate were the ratings of the songs on each of the albums? Resistance with five stars and Guiding Light with three stars!? PFFT. And to add to the insult, they rated MK Ultra and Unnatural Selection the same as GL. The other albums were more accurate, though I thought some of the ratings were a bit off (i.e. Feeling Good better/the same as Darkshines and SMBH better than Take a Bow) but those are just opinion so meh. But the GL/MK/US all being three stars I really did not understand.

  8. Aww. :chuckle: It was great to read on the flight back because there were no good films to watch (on the flight there I watched Avatar. Halfway through I paused it and went to sleep :p), but I was hoping for something a bit more in depth. I dunno, they just reprinted heaps of articles that I already had and there wasn't anything in there that I didn't know about. There were heaps of grammatical errors, typos, etc as well, but ah well. It's a nice thing to have as a fan.

And thanks everyone for the birthday wishes!

  9. Don't worry Nut, I think it's hilarious too. Though I don't care about their personal lives and who they're fucking, so ah well. :p

I found the Muse NME Special in an HMV in Hong Kong for only HKD35. :stunned: So cheap! And there were a few copies. I bought heaps of music stuff there. :awesome:

  10. Oh, it definitely sounds worse than Gaga. :p

Yes, and it was horrible. I don't find them attractive and the video was just them playing in plain backgrounds, so overall I'm just going to give it a miss, save my ears when the full version comes out and not waste my time watching a boring video.

  11. I love that they put in the effort although sometimes it could be cheesy haha.. like when Jon Foreman tried to say "Mari kita rock sama-sama" he ended up saying something like "Mariquita rock summah summah!" despite writing it on his palm hahaha.

That is so cute!:LOL: I loooove hearing their horrible pronounciation though, it's so aww-worthy. :p Imagine Tim Wheeler trying to speak in Malaysian or Indonesian? :eyebrows:

I actually really like The Fame Monster. A lot more than The Resistance, actually. :chuckle: Anyways, who's willing to bet that Neutron Star Collision is going to be one of the worst Muse songs ever made? Meh, oh well. I find it disappointing that all the Twilight soundtracks have amazing artists (as well as really shit artists) either producing new, terrible songs for it or older, amazing songs that don't fit in with the movie. Though Beck and Bat for Lashes are collaborating for a song on the soundtrack. That should be pretty amazing.

  12. Eee, I love it when bands say things in the local languages! Alex Kapranos made several attempts at saying things like "apa kabar!" and "terima kasih banyak" that night. :chuckle: Ooh, and Imogen Heap said "talk cock sing song" and "steady bom pipi." I'm ashamed to admit I dunno Singlish though. :$

  13. Did you say they printed my Mono review (in which they rightfully omitted a whole paragraph about the cellist's hands LOL) in the magazine too?! I had noo idea I thought it was only for the website!!! Thanks for the heads up though <3 wow, Muse and Andrew Bird in the same magazine edition tooooo!! :D

Noooo no Imogen Heap for me, or even Stereophonics in SG :( No A Thousand Trees again sigh (although I hear that an announcement for the KL Stereophonics gig is on the brink of being announced! but let's not get our hopes too high up). Imogen would be one helluva entertaining gig... I hope you make it! Did you get to catch Kings of Convenience? I'm so jealous my friend will be in NYC April 3rd to catch an Ash gig. Sigh.

Yep they did! Oooh, I wonder what you could have said about the cellist? :eyebrows:

Oh, noo. :( Unfortunately I didn't get to see KOC. Ash are coming in April for a one-off Japan show. I'm going for Imogen Heap!
