It will be a great to meet up!!!! We can catch up with each other lives and fan rant about Muse as well :D haha.....I'm fine with 3 Nov or the week after ^^

Hmm since Deb's only free after the 12th, would 13th be okay? It's Deepavali :) Unless every one's away for the holidays. Or if things are easier maybe we'll just meet up during Urbanscapes?

Did you have a good time at BB's concert?

  2. I miss Paul the Cruiser.....:'(

    Miss Paul like kiapppp. :(:supersad:

On top of missing Paul, I miss you guys! I don't even know if Miele have kids already or not. Hehe.

Can we have a muser meet up? Would everyone be okay with November 3rd? It's a Saturday and a week after Raya Haji. Everyone's invited!

I sangat the suka Isolated System. Also, Muse made me listen to Skrillex, and actually enjoy it.

Have fun at the Big Bang gig this weekend Kak Faz, I'm sure you'll be there. A lot of my cousins will be there too!

  3. Foo Fighters and Death Cab only 5 days apart! :(

Did anyone see the lineup for Coachella this year? It's insane.

HOW WAS FTP? Review please and thank you!

It's already year of the dragon... Suddenly I feel like having a midlife crisis this year T__T

I feel it too lol. In fact I think I am living it right now. Kinda having a slump where I can't seem to move forward. I think it's just the idea of this year being our year.

Maybe we can do a meetup close to any of the gig's date? Then we can chit chat and talk the whole day :D

    This needs to happen! :D

aduh Faz, breaking dawn part 1. Takkan tak tahu?:p Yeah, I feel twilight movie is getting better and better ^^ So hopefully the last one is the best. Honestly people always say the first one is romantic(buku romantic la, movie.... tak ada la) but I feel the breaking dawn part 1 so far is the most romantic although Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson is still a bit akward onscreen o.O

Part 2 shouuuld be better because of Lee Pace (who will be playing an American vampire nomad)! His hands, unf. Lol. Story wise though, gah the last few chapters of Breaking Dawn was so frustrating.

Oh ya, Happy Belated Birthday, Nut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Why fort canning can't be sold out?

Happy belatedness Nut! Have fun in New Yorkk!

I can't imagine Fort Canning to be sold out too lol - that place is huuuge! The area's a bit like our college's great hall area - up on a hill and everything ;)

  4. Hi everyone! You've been deeply missed. My last post was in February?! Hope everyone's been fine and dandy! It's good to be home

Thank you Debbie for reminding me on Twitter and oh happy belated birthday! <3 Are you really 21 already? Seemed like just yesterday you were worried about not being able to go to Muse's Singapore 2007 gig! Time flies, only two weeks left in 2011. Insane.

Joelyn! Yes to Dashboard!!! Have you guys got tickets yet? I am somewhat tempted to go for Laneway fest in Singapore too (Fiest! Larua Marling!) but a tiny bit cash strapped at the moment sigh.

Oh another Muse-related note, so who was surprised (or glad hmm) Muse didn't make the cut for Twilight:Breaking Dawn's OST?

Edit: Am loving the Muse 2011 Advent Calendar! I actually forgot the boards would usually come up with one, and now I have 17 days of goodies to sift through :D

  5. Hi Joelyn! I think we were all secretly waiting for the 25th of Feb...

HAPPY MUSERVERSARY FELLOW MUSERS! *throws confetti*

Now, wouldn't it be awesome if we all got shirts like this? >Click<

Hope everyone's been fine, would love to hear an update! :)

  6. Glad you won tickets, and had fun at the Flaming Lips gig Nut!

Hope you guys are all excited about MGMT playing in March 2011! :)

Anyway, was watching this trailer from a new Johnny Depp/Angelina Jolie movie and all of a sudden bam! I hear Map of the Problematique :D Movie's called The Tourist, looks like a pretty yawn-worthy plot but eh, I'm sure Johnny Depp (and Muse) will be able to change that ;)

  7. Miele, wah I had no idea Javarockin' would be so cheap! Must've been suuuper worth it eh.. and that's weird that Stereophonics didnt speak to the crowd, because when they were here Kelly Jones spoke to us quite a bit actually! He was like.. describing the songs or something, I couldnt really listen because it was noisy and his accent is so thick

Liz, oh gaaawd that Lifehouse Medley was so awesome! Must be fantastic to have seen it live.. and ooh what happened that was the highlight of your night? Now I'm intrigued... :eyebrows: I cant stop clicking on other medleys Lifehouse did btw. They did one with Simon too!! I almost died. Simon is one of my favourite ones haha. What songs would you have requested for? :D

and dayumn.. closeup pictures of brandon pls? :chuckle:

Maybe coming back to South East Asia reminded Kelly of that shoe-throwing incident in Singapore earlier this year :(

My highlight from the LH gig (apart from meeting the band post-gig, and talking to them about Inglorious Basterds :$ ) was actually hearing Wash live. Two words for that song: LIKE. SUNSHINE. ;) During Spin, I *think* Jason messed up the 2nd verse but because the crowd was singing along so loudly - even overwhelming the band during the customary bridge pause - it was quickly overshadowed. Simon's my favourite too, but I would've loved to hear Eighties, Anchor, Cling & Clatter or Fool. That would kill me. Then again, after hearing Everything live, I have no regrets. It feels like I'm done with life lol.:stunned:

I know you're having your exams at the moment, won't give you reasons to procrastinate further with pictures of Brandon ;) but I can't resist posting this picture...and vid.

    7pWTf.jpg

Lelangit lol! (Pic not taken by me)

Not sure if I mentioned in my earlier post, but Brandon dances a lot on stage! If you guys have watched his latest vid (not the one with Charlize Theron), you would notice Brandon's signature snap dance in this vid! ;)

That smile of his, he's so dorkily gorgeous. I can't stand it.

Any vids to share from the Paramore gig? :) How was the opening act for Paramore? Heard they won the chance to open through some twitter contest!

  8. ^ No encore from SP? :s Perhaps it was getting really late by then? I'm glad you liked MuteMath though :D

Liz! good to hear from you! how was LH?

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA. I gotta say a lot of people I've met who are into music here are not exactly huge fans of Muse. How disappointing :( I've joined my local uni radio station, hopefully they'll assign me to attend gigs and interview (small local) bands hahaa, that's a start though, no? :)

LH was :awesome: :awesome: It was a very solid performance, one that cannot be rivaled to the set they played in Singapore exactly 2 yrs ago. Perhaps it was the crowd that drove them, or them playing at the same exact venue 7 years ago and not returning to UK after that. Mid way through the set, Jason&his acoustic allowed the crowd in London to pick songs they want to hear. We got to listen to a medley of

. (Love that part where Jason said the record label told him that Breathing was a radio flop in the states ) Hard to believe, but that wasn't the highlight of my night  Come to think of it, there's really too much to say that won't exactly be proper for Muse msg board. Link to a proper review up soon (along with the overdue Placebo in KL review)! :X

Allllso, earlier this week I finally got to see Brandon Flowers in person. I swear, his show was such a hand porn fest :awesome::$ Pity he wasn't wearing a watch, but he was easily forgiven every time he flash that goddamn contagious smile of his. I honestly can't believe we didn't get to see him earlier this year :( :( Definitely missed out an experience of The Killers live. I wanted to talk to Brandon after the gig about another Singapore/Malaysian gig but cheesus christ, I think I had a complete culture shock while waiting backstage for Brandon after the gig. We all know Asian fans can be a little crazy sometimes, but at least we're crazy shy. The dickheads here on the other hand, they were totally harassing Brandon to the extent there were idiots banging on the tour bus door and sticking their noses on the windows to peer inside. For such an advanced country, you'd expect the people to behave better but no, with alcohol apparently they have every reason to do that. *shakes fists* If you stand back and let the man breathe, you're definitely going to get that 30 seconds of precious time with Brandon but if you mob him security's just gonna whisk him away! I felt so embarrassed I left the venue early with a taste of disdain in my mouth. However, even that bad experience post-gig could not affect how birlliant his show was. Brandon sings with a tinge of mystery and as he looks into the crowd flashing his smile, you know he's hiding a faint memory that the fans will probably never know. I loved every moment of it :)

Ash and Jimmy Eat World in November...but contemplating right now if I should skip class and go for Jonsi & The National in London!! Whatever happened to studying?! :(

Mel & Deb, how was Paramore!

  9. I miss eating keropok lekor!

Wow, JavaRockin'Land! Are you going for all three days Miele? Smashing Pumpkins and Mutemath! Have funnn! Dashboard Confessional & Stereophonics on the same day too. You're gonna have a blast!

  10. Sorry I hv no time to reply to all but that "songkok" made me rofl.:xmas:

Too bad I only arrive in UK two days after Wembley :'( Oh and only Kak Faz tends to appear in Muse videos ;) so I'll have to stand next to her if I want to be featured lol!

SELAMAT BERBUKA PUASA TONIGHT and HAPPY HARI RAYA! :D

Can I just add that I love shopping for baju kurungs? They're so darn comfy!

  11. Is today link-various-youtube-vids day? That's a lot of youtube videos in one post! OK, I'll join in the fun :D

Every time I see loop and pedal in the same sentence I think about the story of

That was very nicely executed! I think the first time I was truly aware of the powers that lie in the loop pedal, was after watching

    ! He also did a
but if I honestly want to link a cover of Kids, it definitely has to be this full blown orchestral version. SO. EFFIN'. EPIC.

I wish I can watch The Album Leaf on both days, cos I hate to find out that they might've played
    .

Oh man, that would suck! Have they not announced the location/tix price etc yet?

The meet up sounds like so much fun! Wish I could be there. But I'll be there

Eee. I love Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle. Of course, there is a hidden agenda as to why I love it too lol. Cookie for anyone who knows why ;)

Yeah Baybeats was not bad but I think this time round it wasn't as good as previous years. But I hope it continues to be free. That would be really great.

Missed this year's unfortunately, but this is definitely one festival not to be missed. I mean, it's free!

Years ago they had Sembawang Festival at the Sembawang Park. It was a bold move but it kind of failed. Tickets were too expensive, and most of the acts were unknowns.

    Sembawang Festival should have served

    .

I think I have an idea about this
    ! :D

    Hahaha. I

    ed at this!

P/S: Some of these links just don't make sense...Heh.

  12. Lol oh dear, noo! ... at least, that wasn't what my wish was for :X I'm not sure honestly cause the last time we met during the Sterophonics gig we weren't able to catch up! Congratulations could be for a job promotion etc ;) Okayy maybe I should restructure my sentence :$:$

  13. I'm going for The Album Leaf :D Although I have a recent obsession with loop pedals, I'm glad there'll be a full live band for this tour. They'll play KL Sept 7th, and two SG shows 9th and 10th. Nut are you going for both (sg) shows?

We're planning to have a muser (+Placebo) meet up of sorts this Saturday. :) Faz I do hope you can make it, we could celebrate your belated birthday! Miele, you too coz congratulations are due ( ;) ) and I still have your Rolling Stones magazine  Tim, perhaps you could join us too? :) Joelyn! Mel! Lya! I haven't seen you girls since our lil SG-Muse trip. Kay-a, Debbie, ibelieveinmuse (you have free time after graduation, yes?) musiclover85? etc.

Basically if anyone can spare a little time this Saturday, we'll be berbuka-ing puasa together lol. Place has not been confirmed yet unfortunately, so hopefully someone would clear this up soon? Heh. Fingers crossed for this to work out.

  14. the time has come to make things riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiggghhhhtt

Indeed, it is time to frequent this page again! :D

ibelieveinmuse, no worries I've been unemployed for about a month too lol intentionally... Haha. Have fun during your convocation though! Well after spending 15 years straight studying, for sure a gap year (or in this case a gap month haha) is necessary.

    Hi queeney!

Nut how was ze soul fest? ;)

  15. ^^ Durrr, sneaking out of eateries? That's not good news.:noey:

I'm not one to judge, however... but eh, it's all about the muse-ic! I suppose we should just wait and see how this pans out...

    BAHAHHA  or Jesus.

:LOL: I was going for Noah, but that works too! :chuckle:

  16. I have a little less than a week left for my finals, and I can finally reply to all backlogged posts after next Tuesday lol but, this Kate Hudson/Matt news is too fun to pass! (Not that I'm into gossip hurr)

I heard this rumour when Neutron Star Collision was announced, with that same pic. Perez Hilton recycling news? Hmmmmm. Matt clearly went to US for the tour and not "just to see Kate" and I'm sure they only met up to discuss floral printed jumpsuits and striped pants. Until I see pictures of them canoodling I'm gonna let this one slip for now. I think this was slightly discussed by some other musers and there was one particular comment that made me laugh. Here's another UK rock star hooking up with a blonde actress from the US. Chris Martin x Gwyneth Paltrow much? Let's hope Matt and Kate don't name their child Banana

  17. ^ you are such a geek  but I do prefer your version to the usual one, only thing missing is of course, a little bit of humour in the vid from Dom and his silvery uh, dress?? Haha..

For a little shameless plug of my own... :$

My review for the 'phonics gig can be found here. (Placebo's review still a work in progress!) It was my first assignment for the awesome team behind MTGH who have kindly chosen me as their rep :awesome:

I promise Maybe Tomorrow and other songs requested will also be uploaded here eventually so just keep checking back ;)

2011 sounds like a good year already (assuming Muse will be playing here after Christmas) :D

Speaking of well, rumours... and I stress on "rumours", please don't quote me my sources might not be reliable at all lol

there's been talk of Metallica coming to this region really soon and of a 2nd version of MTV World Stage in Malaysia, with the likes of Tokio Hotel (again) and Katy Perry.

 What do you think of the 3 acts in Malaysia before the end of 2010?

Sorry I didn't get to reply the previous posts yet. I'm making this a quick one!

  18. Eee, I love it when bands say things in the local languages! Alex Kapranos made several attempts at saying things like "apa kabar!" and "terima kasih banyak" that night. :chuckle: Ooh, and Imogen Heap said "talk cock sing song" and "steady bom pipi." I'm ashamed to admit I dunno Singlish though. :$

I love that they put in the effort although sometimes it could be cheesy haha.. like when Jon Foreman tried to say "Mari kita rock sama-sama" he ended up saying something like "Mariquita rock summah summah!" despite writing it on his palm hahaha.

I'm new to this thread. I'm Malaysian. I did contact Galaxy (the company that brought Muse last time) and asked them about this year. They replied me. It's posted in my group on Facebook. If anyone would like to see I'll just post the link here.

    Cheers

Hi Dylan, welcome to the M'sian thread! So glad you could join. Awesome job bombarding Galaxy with emails. I recommend we expand our targets to other concert organisers here in Malaysia as well, for example This Feeling KL maybe who just brought Stereophonics over! Promoters are usually very coy about their replies, but keep up the good work I'm sure someone will hear us eventually :]

Don't worry, the muselivers have admitted it's fake. Thank God.

Hahahaha but Matt kinda likes Lady Gaga right, he has nothing against her, only perhaps when they were up against each other for NME worst dressed

Oh and hi Lya, how're you doing? :D

  19. First thing's first :)

    Muse -

BBQ set has fancy spot light functions too! ;) New song May 17th, can't wait. Lead single for Twilight:Eclipse at that, gonna be interesting to see how they work things out alongside Paramore and Death Cab For Cutie (first and second movies)!

Incubus - I know some of us were at the 2004 Incubus gig, under the cut I'm gonna post a lil info regarding that :)

Well, we all knew that Incubus released a Live in Malaysia 2004 bootleg for their Make Yourself Foundation but I've never personally heard the WHOLE set before because I just thought it was impossible to find since it was rare and so many years ago. Was almost content with the Malaysian version of Circles that was officially released in the Incubus Alive at Red Rocks DVD, but then THIS came along... !!!

The full set!! All 19 songs!!! I never thought I'd get to hear Brandon Boyd saying Terima Kasiiiiiiiiih right before Warning the way I remember it... but ahhhh.

About the Malaysia concert, Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd remarked, "This show will always stand out in my mind as one of the more unique concerts we've played. I can't even remember a show that I've been to that offered such rarities on an experiential level. The audience was one of the more animated that we had ever seen and proved to be so until the last note of our set. I'll never forget seeing all the girls in the crowd with their veils over their heads and dancing as hard as their Chuck Taylors would allow! It was a cultural paradox at it's finest! We'll never forget Malaysia! Thanks."

    Keeping it short for

Stereophonics - Requests coming up real soon  Debbie, awesome pics! Aida, didn't Stereophonics used to open for fellow Welsh Manic Street Preachers back then? I wasn't aware they were in a "spat"...

  20. 24 songs - totally worth it!! But the wait was reaaaaaaaaally long, they started at almost 9.30pm! And finished around 11.15pm...so unfortunately Miele had to leave early to catch the train. She missed Dakota!

Kelly is erm, small. He was sooo funny when the band were about to leave, he kept raising his cup, and the crowd would scream every time he raised it lol!

I had no idea Kelly would be this good looking :chuckle: his drummer was pretty cute too! I didnt realise how small he was though.. until I looked properly. wow, he's pretty short. But thats okay! ahhaa! Yeah I loved it when he kept making us shout and praise while he was just drinking from his cup like it was nothing

Hahahha, Kelly is not as .. ehem, small, as Brian Molko  sorry, I wasn't trying to take that out of context or any thing!!:p I found that last raising cup part hilarious too I had part of that on film hehe ;)

Crazyyy that they made us wait for so long, starting only at 9:20pm. I really felt bad for those who had to leave early, or left transport-less by the end of the gig! The two girls I met in the back door excursion literally couldn't head back to PJ any more because it was close to 12am! They had to take a cab :( but considering the fact that they got Kelly's signatures and every thing, I guess it was worth it :]

Liz where are you??? Share the details of your encounter with Kelly & Richard yesterday!!!! Where's the backdoor anyway??

Super sorry this came in late!

Ok ok moving on to that very random post gig meeting... After saying my goodbyes to Aida and Iris, I climbed in my car and sat there literally not moving because I was so exhausted. Let's just say I was in there for quite some time, made a few phone calls before stretching my legs ready to drive myself back. So as I was making a turn towards the exit to Jln Perak (I think tht's what it's called), I saw two vans parked at the corner and there was a staircase nearby... I was so distracted at first that I didn't notice it was Kelly Jones himself sprinting over to the van. There were two girls who approached him and when I saw camera flashes going off, my mind just went blank. I knew then. I killed my car engines, pulled up the hand brake and literally scampered off to where they were standing. Richard was just standing there not sure what he was supposed to do because the two girls were blocking his way as they were standing near the van doors to get Kelly (who was comfortably seated at the back of the van)'s signatures.

While Kelly was busy, I mustered up what courage I had left and tapped Richard by his shoulder literally whispering "Richard?" from the back because I was so so nervous :p You'd think after all these F1 encounters I'd be a little less nervous but gahh everything just went down the drain. I put out my hands and shook his very sweaty hands lol I can tell they were most definitely not going to wear any leather jackets in Malaysia haha. This was when I got to ogle at his tattoos XD There were so many all over his hand and forearms.I told him they did a great spectacular show, but he seemed a little shy himself not knowing what to say. Perhaps just overwhelmed by the response and every thing (or maybe he freaked out I was looking at his hands for longer than I should hahaha) I held up my camera and smiled at him then and he instantly knew what he had to do. Man, this guy must have camwhored a LOT to get such a perfect shot

    d5f9d4a1.jpg

I think I gave him a half hug after that and thanked him before the two girls went to get his signature.. AHHH. Kelly Jones is now ALL MINE  Well, the guards and organisers were getting a little pissy by then and when they saw I was walking towards the van to talk to Kelly, they attempted to slide the doors closed and while I understood that it was their "job" I figured I won't want to further stall them so I stopped fumbling for the marker pen I had ready in my bag. Instead, I just called out to Kelly because that was the only way to get his attention... The moment I said, "Kelly!" I regretted immediately because not only Kelly himself turned his head towards me, but every one around including Richard looked at me as though I was going to do some crazy fan girl attempt to get into the van. They all looked worried for a moment, but of course I'm no crazy fan girl... At least I try not to be ;]

I've had this line practised out for years, heightened when I found out Ewan McGregor and Kelly Jones struck a deal between each other where if Kelly wrote an opening theme for Ewan's Long Way Round/Long Way Down tv series, Ewan would hv to act in one of Kelly's movies! So when I said, "You should've played Long Way Round! since you came all the way here!" you could literally see him lighting up, grinning and laughing, approving and asking Richard why didn't they.. Richard got up the van then, and the guards took no notice that we were about to talk and he just slammed the doors shut in front of me and Kelly's faces :stunned: Owell, I shrugged and waved at him and he returned with a sympathetic wave.

This was where it got a little ... awkward lol. Not sure if that's the right word to describe. So because there were a stream of cars paying for the parking, it was a little jammed up so the van was still in front of us even after 2-3 minutes. Kelly decided to wave and give us thumbs up then through the (vaguely tinted) window and after about 5 waves, he finally pressed his hands against the van window... I was so bloody tempted to put my hands against his over the window too lol but hving what self control I had left, I resisted the HAND temptation  The other girl went by and pressed her fingers against the window as well, and I don't think this is a scene where one can describe by writing it down because it's actually hard for me to believe that it even happened in front of my eyes. With that cheeky look in Kelly's eyes (akin to the one he had while raising his cup a thousand times) he started moving his hands around and the girl started tapping against the window to meet Kelly's hands ??? I'm not sure how to explain this, but at one point the both of them were just making funny window tapping noises and with one final wave at us Kelly looked up and smiled just as the traffic eased up a little and they managed to drive away.

I talked a bit to the girls and they said Javier (drummer) ran in to hide in the van [there were two vans] and they didn't see Adam at all. We relived the window tapping scene and laughed for a bit before deciding it was really time for us to leave too because it was getting really late. Well I'm glad at least I brought up

    =D

So much for keeping calm and carrying on. I was paralysed once again when I got back to my car lol.

i hate the lighting la.. tak puas tengok muka diorg. could only see their silhouettes! but Dakota was major, super, fun tahap gaban haha. peeps, share yr pix ya.. i forgot to bring my camera! :(

I'm with you on that! I tweeted about the silhouettes and demanding we want lights from the front lol. I guess it's all part of the set though :(

    image-629D_4BD9FEFA.jpg

Yes, Kelly, we all know you have glorified (but relatively short) hands

Edit: Eh lupa pulak. I've uploaded four tracks here.

    http://drop.io/phonicsdown

Request away if you want a specific song up! :] I'm working on the review and a little surprise.

  21. Hey everyone I finally got my internet back!! 8 minutes ago. I'm in a rush now though to catch Iron Man 2 later so I promise tonight after the movie I'll come back home straight to pour everything out, heck maybe I'll even write the review, upload bootlegged songs asap so I don't procrastinate lol.

  22. A reply to the Placebo spoilers very soon, and a review! ;] but before that...

Btw Did you bring your mom to Tom Jones Liz?

We didn't catch Tom Jones in the end :( Maybe Lionel Ritchie lol

Featured artist of this month that's going to end soon.

Despite coming home over the weekends to watch MTV, throughout this WHOLE month, I still haven't seen any of the interview snippets with Matt/Dom! The only time was when I was playing pool on a Tuesday night and the tv at the pool centre was tuned to MTV, kebetulan they showed the clip and immediately after that it was Undisclosed Desires.. (right after that it was Placebo's Bright Lights! :D) I swear, my pool/billiard skills got slightly better with awesome music background ;)

Liz, I saw your review of Mono's gig in Junk! I bought it just for Muse :chuckle: But gahhh, I saw the Andrew Bird review and photos too. :'( Are you or anybody else on here going for Imogen Heap's gig at the Esplanade on Monday?

Did you say they printed my Mono review (in which they rightfully omitted a whole paragraph about the cellist's hands LOL) in the magazine too?! I had noo idea I thought it was only for the website!!! Thanks for the heads up though <3 wow, Muse and Andrew Bird in the same magazine edition tooooo!! :D

Noooo no Imogen Heap for me, or even Stereophonics in SG :( No A Thousand Trees again sigh (although I hear that an announcement for the KL Stereophonics gig is on the brink of being announced! but let's not get our hopes too high up). Imogen would be one helluva entertaining gig... I hope you make it! Did you get to catch Kings of Convenience? I'm so jealous my friend will be in NYC April 3rd to catch an Ash gig. Sigh.
