Ok, I've been dancing around saying this, statement: when discussing a state of fact with regards to, say, what Dom uses to play certain songs, what you "think" is no concern. You must have evidence.
OK I'll put some sound clips up from a concert later.
EDIT: OK the following clips are both from AOL sessions

I think you can hear from that.

There's no need, those drums aren't synth, they sound like the drums in the rest of the performance.
I don't think so, they sound a lot more electronic.

K, so he either uses triggered drums, trigger pads or the ribbon crasher. Which is it (are there any live SBH videos)?
EDIT: Having just watched the TOTP video I'd say that the rim of his floor tom has got a trigger in it
Also I think the snare is triggered in SMBH aswell

live, he hits the rim of his bass drum.
but its not mic'd up - so it must be a backing track....for the second part of the verse he uses the hats.
If you wanna play it JUST like him - then its on the rim of the bass drum.
if you wanna get a NOISE out of the drums then stay on the hats! lol
Actually its a trigger

The whole of the main beat is using the gong bass drum or whatever it is and then the little fill is done on the toms.

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I wondered if anyone can help with this:
What is that thing Dom uses in concert, between his mounted tom and ride cymbal, it looks like 3 bent metal bars, uses it in TiRO.

No that was someone else, my point was that the drums sound different in SMBH.
