Dom i think you were. he was the only pink wigged man around us... that area was the place to be muse fan wise it seems...
Simon those songs are awesome! Dark Passenger is very Screenager. seriously good voice.
Thank you means a lot to hear things like that. Been really working on my singing this year
-
Where've you been good to sort of meet you at reading!
Liked. Cool music!
Living in a cave, drinking red wine and getting fitted for pink wigs Oh and writing music! Hehe same to you fella. It was intense, that gig.
Thank you for the likes chaps, hoping to get some non-acoustic full band recordings of some of my other material at the start of the new
year!

Long time no post my kittens..
May I take this opportunity to plug my tuneage:
Disappear.

If you feel able to 'like' it I would be super appreciative and happy.

nice one dude.
I think it's the first time you do a gig that feels "new" that gets the nerves going. I've done loads of gigs, but my first time drumming with a hip hop band a couple of months ago had me absolutely shitting myself. I had to beg my girlfriend to come and give me a lift back 'cos I needed beers badly.
Yeah I've done band gigs with covers, even open mic nights where I've done a few acoustic sing, strum jobbies, but this was massively different. But I've got a taste for it now!
(Much beer was had, in fact there was much mixing of drinks)
-
It went well guiiise cheers, tiny crowd (well it was snowing ) but well received and I got a free beer out of it from one of the bar wenches
-
are you playing with a band or just on your own?
My own...
It's a 20 minute long solo piano piece that I've composed
-
Dutch courage? Immodium plus (lol)/Travel sickness tablets?
You playing in a bar? Buy everyone a drink, no-one'll dislike you then
I'm sure you'll do fine, Everyone gets nerves and ususally they help to make sure you dont faff about...
Good luck mate
I think some scotch and immodium tablets may be a formidable combo. Possibly some Diazepam as well.. Yeah it's a bar.. cheers man. I will post and update how it goes even if it is a disaster!
-
live stream?
Only stream will be coming from my arsehole in the toilets for about an hour or so before I go on. Too much info. But. Nerves! I has them.
-
For all and sundry who may care or live near enough to attend my sonata will be getting its first public performance tonight sometime after 8pm, barring MAJOR disasters at The Hop, Granary Wharf, Leeds.
I am shitting it!
-
this is a lot darker than it looks in real life. theres been a bit of a run on the shoulder where the burst is so after flatting it down a bit tomorrow i shall have to redo that part of the burst
Good god man.
-
got the burst on. once the clear coat goes on it will look a bit more subtle that it does now.
I don't usually like this type of guitar but this thing has had me soiling pair after pair of pants.
-
I cannot wait to see this thing finished man!
-
And I thought your songs on youtube were great That was amazing, I'd definitely be interested in hearing more!
Thank you dude!
All in good time, I've been playing around with guitar rig too much this evening!
-
Yes it reminds me of the "mood" of some of Beethoven sonatas like Moonlight Sonata or Pathetique... not sure how to explain I just get the same vibe when I listen to yours. That symphonic piece sounds really interesting I hope you get it finalised and recorded.
Classical music <3
I do love the more melancholic or darker tones of a lot of Beethoven's Sonatas. Nearly everything I write is quite melancholic or tragic sounding..
Ohh I will finish the orchestral piece eventually don't worry and could probably send you snippets to listen to soon if you wanted
-
Wow thats incredible si, nicely done!
Thank you man
I'm starting to get some real aspirations for this piece (as a whole) I've poured four months of my life into writing the sonata, I'm just not sure what to _do_ with it now.
-
No worries, just being honest. It has some great "Beethovian" undertones which for me is a very good thing! Is it your first classical piece or have you composed others?
I've been working on a symphonic piece for about 5 years now, but this is my first solo piano piece that I've written, a lot of my other songs have some very classical influences either in terms of chord progression or string/piano sections. Classical music is my favourite genre at heart
Beethovian undertones! I'm flattered!!
-
please tell me the finished piece will be available 1) to listen 2) for download.
Thank you, that's definitely what I would hope to achieve. It's very, very nearly finished now, I put together a rough draft of the 3rd Movement last night (a whopping 10.5 mins long!) so now I just have to tweak and refine a few passages in that and then make a decent quality recording of the whole thing.
-
I really enjoyed listening to it, lovely piece. Hope to hear the complete piece one day
Well I've just finished writing it - so you shouldn't have to wait too long!
The whole thing comes in at just under 20 minutes!

First movement of a sonata I have all but finished writing, complete piece is 20 mins long. Apologies for shoddy recording quality. Vote if you like

You are so talented, I have no idea what the competition is like, but this has got to be seriously major guitar magazine worthy once it is done..
-
while im (still!!) waiting for a top to come to inlay all that stuff into, i found a pic that i thought would be good for an inlay
its a nudey!!!!!! Im shocked and appalled.
I photoshopped what it would look like (this is without the etching obviously). The main body is white m.o.p, the shadows are black m.o.p, and the hair is abalone.
but iv only got some m.o.p so i couldnt do the rest. I did have a little tiny bit of abalone left from years ago but as soon as i started cutting it it fell apart.
So this is all iv been able to do. Shes about 55mm from head to toe
moar!
Mooooooooaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!
-
that must be incredibly delicate work, you must be really skilled. Maybe you could get in guitarist mag or something like that? Get some decent orders in.
+1 there can't be many people in the UK producing stuff with this kind of finesse surely?
-
Patience, you have it!
That's really impressive, I'm looking forward to the finished result!
+1
-
just to give you an idea - theres a 10p to show how small they are. and it took me 55 minutes to cut out those 15 little flowers. and thats what i have left to do
I do not envy you the task!! What are you using to cut these tiny inlay pieces?
