  1. I'm pretty sure that's the second one. Unless he had the pickup replaced in the original?

It did look fairly beaten up like the first one though.

Also, was surprised to see that he didn't use a single matt black (as in his usual tour spec guitars) last night

He used a kaoss guitar for the medley at RAH which was weird. I'm glad he's stopped using the plain matt blacks so much, just got boring. Also, the tone is immense on that song.

  2. The last two minutes of it are absolutely gorgeous. The beat and piano might be repetitive but the stuff going on with the strings, choir and synth at the end is one of the most beautiful things Matt has ever written.

Don't think I'm gonna convince you but I would urge you to give this another look

100% agree. The ending of The Void has a similar vibe, but it comes nothing close to this. Also, did Matt know he was writing this for WWZ or did they ask for the rights to it afterwards?

  3. Hardcore fans are too harsh on Muse live, and that’s not me being elitist or getting on a high horse ‘cos I used to be just as bad.

A lot of what they get criticised for is actually pretty understandable and we often create our own disappointment by hoping for ideals (just ‘cos of how much we like them and their music tbf) and following every set. Hearing them talk about the live shows and individual songs, you can see how much care they put into it and I actually feel bad seeing some of the levels of criticism that gets thrown their way a little too easily, including stuff I used to say.

    this

  4. The Groove absolutely not, Showbiz I’d say 97% a no as well :chuckle: I wouldn’t hold out hope for any rarities tbh, I think it’s gonna be hard for them to squeeze the new songs and greatest hits into the set with much room left over but they do tend to bring around a couple of fan favourites for stadiums. In the past we’ve had CE, Bliss, B&H, Dead Star, RBS, Unintended and Blackout (and freak cases of Yes Please and Agitated) so maybe think around that tier - old and uncommon but generally not mental. If owt does come back though, Manchester usually gets a decent set.

    How do you mean ‘big’?

It'd be good if CE could become a more common song in the sets like it did on the Drones tour. Blackout always works out well for the stadiums.

And big- Mental stage size, cost of the production with actors, massive fire chimneys :chuckle: and huge lighting.

  5. Maaaaaad, feels like I was just a wee babby for my first Muse gig.

Would imagine you’ll enjoy it, it’ll mostly be new songs + greatest hits but that’s usually what you want from your first gig. I remember being buzzing for PIB, Hysteria, Supermassive, Uprising, TIRO and Knights at mine. If you get within the front third of the standing crowd, it should be pretty good in Manchester.

    soft at the core?

Can't imagine not enjoying it, haha! Really excited for SMBH and Pressure too. Hoping for a couple of rarer songs like The groove or showbiz to turn up, it just makes the setlist a little less predictable. Do you think it'll be as big as the Unsustainable tour?

  6. So, anyone else here with any experience on the Mooer Tender Octaver? Personally bought it as a bit of an impulse buy and just to play around, but with enough tweaking I've started to notice it's a real sweet octaver for bass. Can hit that Starlight-type growliness when paired with OS-2 without getting muddy all day and is still pretty versatile. Also freakin fantastic for splashing ontop of some fills in heavier stuff.

Yeah it's a sick pedal, we have one in the shop are and it's real good for Jack White kinda stuff as well. Think i'll be buying it soon haha
