It depends whether we're considering which of the six is simply the best song or which one is best suited to open its particular album.
Which one is best as album opener. Might be that you like X better than Y, but you consider Y to be a better album opener.

OMG, we have different opinions! We must alert the church elders!

By the way, does anyone else think that Uno should have actually been the opening track for Showbiz? I think it would have been a fantastic choice. The intro is perfect. The way it kicks after Unintended makes little sense to me. Plus Uno means 'One' in Italian, so...

Hard to say, New Born is indeed tremendous, but Take a Bow and Supremacy too. Fun fact: BH&R was intended to open with Knights and close with TaB but they changed it in the last time.
Interesting. I can actually see that work, but I'm glad they opted differently. Knights of Cydonia is kick-ass as closer.

Apologies if this has already been done before. I tried searching for it, but I couldn't find anything.
Anyway, my vote goes to New Born. Not only a tremendous song, but also a fantastic opener.

It's not that hard to understand. The lyrics are shit, the vocals are annoying, the riff's generic/boring and the whole thing sounds like it was written by a 13 year old. Probably doesn't help that it's horribly placed on the album as well.
Well, I disagree. I'll give you that the lyrics are nothing special, but the rest of the song is good ol' rocking Muse IMO.

Alright, this is a daring attempt. I've only recently started re-listening to Muse after some time, so a few things here and there might change. Haven't listened to The 2nd Law in its entirety yet, so maybe I'll add it later.
Green - great
Yellow - good
Red - poor

Totally serious sonny. I've been skimming through this thread, and apparently there's a general dislike towards Overdue, which I simply can't understand.
-
Totally serious.
-
Wow, I'm quite amazed at the sheer amount of great tracks mentioned in here. Especially what's with all the hate towards Overdue? That's classic Muse.
-
Stockholm Syndrome. Didn't really pay much attention to it in the past, now I think it's one of their very best.

Seems a neck and neck race between New Born and Take a Bow.
