  1. Forced In.

The spooky vibe and atmosphere of the track reminds me of something like Climbing Up the Walls by Radiohead. It also has a kinda post-rock feel to it in some ways. I especially love the noise ending in the last minute of the track. It would be awesome in a live show for What's He Building In There to be an outro, intro, or maybe even overlapping Forced In. Not that the live instrumental intro version they've played wasn't awesome but it seriously has the potential to be such an amazing live track even if I doubt that's the kind of thing Muse would ever do again.

Edit: I just tried playing What's He Building In There and Forced In at the same time and it really is amazing. You guys need to try it like right now.

Yeah. But for some reason I really doubt we'll ever hear forced in live.

  2. Why would you wanna hear their old stuff if you don't even think Matt sounds good doing it?

True. But first of all, I like their old stuff TOO much to resist. And secondly, I think there are songs that could sound tolerable. Like... No Micro Cuts obviously... They perform New Born quite well... I can no longer hear Plug in Baby and Bliss. What about Citizen Erased? Hyper Music? Screenager... Ok. Not sure about Hyper Music... Futurism was quite ok at Zepp... It is difficult with Showbiz though... I cannot imagine it with his voice as it is today. Unintended, may be... May be Uno, may be MM, but those would probably sound strange nowadays. They are sort of adolescent... And I'd want some b-sides, definitely. The Groove? Eternally Missed? I think this one may sound.

  3. So you're saying that Matt's improved vocals are results of adapting to mass consumption? Now that makes sense!

No. Moving towards the most conventional style of performance is a result. Improved vocals are all very well. But when it simplifies your own style, makes your voice sound less expressive, do you think this is a choice an artist should make? This is was my very original point. Ok, I agree that technically his voice improved, even though I don't appreciate this. The other point was if the only way in which they improved it's Matt's new technical approach to his voice (what is not the only thing that makes a performance work), does it mean they are getting worse?

  4. I like this

I love these too. But, when I mention "old performances" I don't neseccarily mean this kind of ancient stuff ( although I love I can understand why people say they are technically weaker than more recent ones). When I compare I actually mean most of the performances up to 2010. However, this new kind of voice has been gradually emerging since 2008, I guess.
