  1. The Globalist is one song where I find Matt really digs further into the subject. It's not profound writing, but it covers the motives and conflicts of the human side of it all. All the lyrics at that level (at the least) could have made for something closer to the actual game changer we joked about.

I hold what I said back at Psycho's release that it's more disappointing when it's a topic that I care about and find more important, rather than something ridiculous like The 2nd Law's premise.

    thank you.

  2. That feel when, like, that's just like your opinion man. Drones killing people/being controlled isn't that complicated

It is very much so. It's not just about some semi automated machines killing people. It's about the state of not being in charge and loosing control over your own destiny. It's about the loneliness associated with this state and the love/hate paradox that both initiates it and is caused by it. I can clearly see the intention of multilayered meanings and feelings which is what makes me really sad as I really like the idea and intention behind this 'narrative'. But unfortunately unimaginative and cliche lyrics have ruined it.

  3. but why do you need depth? why cant a song just be for enjoyment?

twist and shout doesnt have any depth and if it had depth it would make it a worse song

because when you label your album with a rather complicated concept, some level of depth is the least you should offer. why is this so hard for some people to understand?

  4. I was thinking, they said they lost money with the last tour, maybe is because of that they are changing the touring routine.

Maybe they want to start with festivals this time to secure some cash and expend it later in flashy lights and deathly explosives in arenas and stadiums.

I doubt they're getting more cash in a festival than their sellout shows in europe. it's just the timing. because they're doing all these festivals it doesn't make sense to start with europe.

  5. you guys are over processing it. I think it's simply the story of the opposite side (of the protagonist) infused with strong feeling of loneliness. To me there's more link with MOTP than it is to CE.

  6. I very much like Mercy. I don't have any problem with "pop and catchy" I remember first time I heard UD, Madness and Follow Me my impression was "I don't like them a lot but they are still pretty solid tracks' Revolt is just weak no matter which angel I look at it from. If it was done with the same production and arrangement as whats on charts and sung by Bruno Mars or someone like that it might have been better.

  7. So you'd be okay with Muse just giving up playing live at all for their 8th album?

with a fifth person (2nd morgan) they can achieve a lot. (not that I'd like to see them going down that direction)

  8. If you remember that a band doesn't write music for its fans it's completely logical: they haven't written songs like aftermath and revolt before. They also want to explore different sides. I don't think these songs are 'beneath' their capabilities (aftermath is really good), and even Drones is musically very well written. It might just not be what you wanted it to be, or what you prefer to hear.

I don't have problem with different sides. I still support TR and T2L. My problem with the second half is not its different side. it's just boring and both musically and lyrically terrible.
