Maybe not,but I´d say they might tell you a lot about your current state of mind if you pay attention to the details.For example,you can dream of,say,apples,meaning you forgot to buy some yesterday.Which links with your "Past" theory.It´s all about knowing how your tastes and brain work.

Whta happened to you with Gene happened to me some years ago (thanks,Dream Diary!):I spent a week dreaming of System Of A Down because they were about to release a new album,and I was eagerly awaiting it.
