Yea, double bass in that context is just noise. Painful on the ears! But you can't discredit everyone who has a double pedal because of those extremes.
Fits the music, good groove, not constant noise. If you want to limit yourself by not trying to learn more drum techniques, thats your business, just trying to point out the better points of double pedals.
