  1. Pretty sure he got the modded 1959 during the recording of BHAR. I think he started out with the DSL for absolution, but then switched over to the VH4 because of Rich Costey

and yeah, the DSL was stock as far as I know, except he seemed to run it at 50 watts (I think the orange ones were only sold as 100 watt models, so he pulled two of the EL34s for some reason - at least on the OOS tour)

What is that weird amp at 4:07? VH4 prototype?

There aren't a whole lot of amps in these videos. There's one other amp head which I haven't identified, and also the soldano decatone. Haven't spotted a 1959 yet.

It's a Marshall Mode Four Proto at 4:07.

  2. Prolly because of the complex circuitry coupled with the fact that there aren't a whole lot of people building them. IIRC the Liquid Foot guy prettymuch builds them all by hand.

Pretty much this, first thing to realise is that midi controllers are not all born equal. The liquid foot controllers have such sophisticated programming ability which makes them incredibly efficient compared to any other midi pedal. The hours Jeff at lf put in to program and design all these features and build a top quality unit all come into the price when compared to say a behringer or even a voodoo lab ground control which can only do a fraction of the functions the liquid foot can- hence the premium prices.
