  1. eBay didn't really make an effort when it came to RAH tickets? That's charity. It makes me sick that people were selling charity event tickets for double+.

Oh yeah 'cos of there fucking absolutely disgraceful fucking rule about 10% of the takings go to the charity. What a fucking pile of crap!

Sorry, I don't mind when people sell on tickets too much, it's always happened, but when it's a gig for the TCT or any bloody amazing charity it makes me mad.

  2. It's banned for football matches to prevent opposing fans mixing and causing a whole heap of trouble, and it's generally only banned for one off concerts, or charity events. Not that I'm trying to burst your bubble, I'm just saying that that's the reponse you might get.

Yeah it's the FA's (or FIFA's) rule not to sell on tickets that you have bought (technically even my Dad isn't allowed my season ticket on the days he goes) as you could be selling to banned fans or rivals. So if there's even a hint of them on ebay they/you are punished (especially if your details are anywhere).

It is the music industries and the promoter's fault that gig tickets can be sold on ebay as this is one of a few ways of reselling unwanted tickets as used to be the way when ebay started out.

  3. Probably. Have just used his name for an email address though and sent my revised letter that my class worked on with me today when doing writing to persuade...

    Lol!

I hope you started the lesson with "Touting is bad"

Start telling all youngster's this and hopefully it will stop, just like underage drinking... Oh

  4. I have ordered tickets through this website. Is it OK or have I been done?

looks very like ukticketfactory.co.uk in the layout sort of thing

i'd be very sceptical off buyin from anywhere that wasnt viagogo/getmein/ebay tbh - all these are protected and some are run by the ticket agencies

  5. Don't play their game!

Use the touts and you only make the situation worse. Besides, you are likely going to be swapping your genuine ticket for a fake one. If the tout seems pleased about the swap that'll be the giveaway.

it all depends how many dont sel before the gig - i mean ive seen gigs where touts are still walkin around offerin tickets and acceptin below face value prices cos they just want them off their hands - and whats better than makin a tout lose money

  6. That is an appalling story, but I'm sure it only counts for a small % of tickets bought by touts. The fact that a lot of good (Level 1) tickets end up on ebay when loads of us get "server busy" messages must mean that touts have a "back door" in to the ticket buying process. It stinks.

I agree - Do NOT BUY tickets from ebay. If we get any spare sell them on Musebay.

On the other hand how do we know touts arent buying them from musebay?

cos if its musebay u can easily get a tout uninterested... meet at the gig? meet in person? talk to the regularly thru email/on here before you send everything as the tickets wont be around for a while

even just mentioning stuff like this can make touts just bored of waiting and give up on them

EDIT: but yeah sadly this is common at box offices - im pissed i didnt go down now a couple of hours early

  7. Nobody cares about people selling above face value

The promoters don't care. It helps build up the hype of "sold out" events

The ticket agencies don't care - they have their cut anyway

The bands don't care - or their record labels won't allow them to care

The fans don't care - given a choice a large number would rather pay a premium then not go (and that includes me I'm ashamed to say)

The Government doesn't care - nobody is injured or has died.

    Sad but true.

    very true sadly

i have paid over the odds for certain gigs but wudnt for a normal album tour

  8. Exactly! The only reason people buy from touts is that they have no other option.

When asked many make the excuse of 'oh I can't go now but I thought I'd stick 'em on eBay to see how much I could get for them'. Yeah right.

i hate it when i see that - especially when its from geniune ppl cos they just get snapped up by touts if theyre face value

i mean every band no has a fourm and altho most arent as good as he for stuff like that u can always make a thread offerin tickets at face value - ive needed to do this and got good responses back

  9. Hello Gemseh of Win,

Thanks for letting us know about tickets.

The sale of tickets on eBay is legal, however I appreciate your concerns

    about touting.

I would like to briefly explain the difference between ticket touting

and the auction of tickets on eBay.

In the spirit of our worldwide community, when someone bids for an item

on eBay, they do so by their own choice. Every buyer can choose the

price they may be willing to pay and from what seller they prefer to

    buy.

I know this may not have been the answer you were hoping for, but I hope

I've at least been able to explain things clearly.

    Kind regards,

    Susan Jacob

    eBay Trust & Safety

Haha that's the loopiest of loopholes in the loopiest of universes ever!!!

So they're pretty much saying that they are just an advertising site that doesn't care what is advertised on it's site and it's up to users to sort out what's on it

There is no difference between that and touting btw, with touting you choose what price you are willing to go up to and if outside who you are willing to pay

  10. I have to say it's fecking disgraceful that ebay is full of Muse tickets for the tour, it's the same with other big acts as well not just Muse. It doesn't happen with football tickets so why the feck does this happen with concert tickets.

I tried to get tickets this morning at work in vain, unfortunately I couldn't and I was too busy to keep persisting. I got tickets in 2006 for Manchester and was really keen to go again.

You'll have to excuse me if other posters have mentioned this already, I haven't had time to go through the threads.

because footie tickets are tret very seriously in this issue due to fakes and banned ppl gettin in

the rules were brought in after the tradegy of '89 and the taylor report

i wudnt mind if they brought in the same rules like - i just hope it doesnt take the same thing

  11. From my experience sometimes they leave it till the last minute which is pretty stressful as they send them recorded delivery and I'm not generally in during the day! Fingers crossed this won't happen this time.

i have had this - and also had to take days off work to recieve them the day before

it is especially bad if they use royal mail - who you would think would be decent at mailing stuff

but dont worry they are normally good it has been an exception compared to most gigs

EDIT: not that ticketmaster are much better (unless you use that new nifty print off thing they have for some gigs)

  12. just remember not to rush into buying tickets if you decide to pay over the odds on ebay - tickets usually drop down in price after a few days once the adrenline of missing out on tickets has died down

also remember some tickets for most areas are held back due to production reasons so don't rush at all on ebay

plus if you wait you can always strike it lucky on musebay

  13. haha i was just about to say showbiz was on hollyoaks; i think whoever does the music for that show is a huge muse fan cos since they've started the thing where they open each ep with a song, muse has been used loads! i dont remember which ones now....the very end of Falling away with you was on a few weeks ago, i think over the little clip at the end after the credits.

and just when we thought hollyoaks had good music it goes and plays radiohead - c'mon bring on the backlash
