  1. The ugly truth. When it got played in Chicago (my first resistance tour gig) I was kinda underwhelmed. As opposed to when I heard it during the BHaR tour.

I have to say the first leg of The Resistance tour that they played (saw them at MSG and in Philly) was underwhelming but the 2nd leg (saw them recently in Long Island, then Newark) blew me away like the old Muse used to. Maybe I enjoyed it more because I knew I wouldn't see them again for quite some time, but I was blown away by their 2nd leg.

Wish the set was different though.....

  2. Now I'm afraid I will miss out a big part of the concert if I don't go in the pit :supersad:

But I am a weak, calm, 5' 4 glass-wearing opera-goer and I am too scared and shy to deal with the crowd of a pit :$

I am no longer sure what to do :erm:

Hang out in the back of the pit

  3. Yeah, things only tend to get crazy in the the front, or if some morons try to actually mosh somewhere. If you are lucky enough to be tall, you may want to consider staying back a bit, and leaving the rail to us vertically challenged midgets :p

I'm not that tall, but I'm not short. I'm 5'8'' and I'll be wearing my boots which will give me another 2 inches probably. I'm stickin towards the back anyways because I really hated being stuck in the front. You can't enjoy the music when you can't breathe and are worried about getting hurt. :(

  4. I think it should be mentioned that even if you're in the pit, it doesn't mean that you have to stand in the very front where you get beat up and groped etc.

I've seen Muse from the very front (one person behind barrier) and from the middle of the floor (with minimal pushing and showing), and from seats, and though I truly enjoyed each time, my best memories are probably from the time I was in the middle of the floor where I got to really enjoy the music and the jumping without worrying about being hurt by the crowd around me, and the view was still good.

That being said, I still plan on switching it around, depending on who goes to the shows with me.

:) lol I'm glad you said that because I was starting to doubt my past experiences reading all these post. I've been in GA plenty of times and I was only mauled once. That was because I wanted to be up at the front and didn't realize how people were going to act. In the middle/back of the GA is a lot more tame

  5. The pit is a very large area. The way it was described sounds like how it is much closer to the stage (I know this because I got stuck in it once and wasn't prepared for it). I've been in the pit for half of the Muse performances I went too but learned to stand in the back. The whole entire pit isn't a mob from what I remember. There was ample room for the people that didn't want to be mobbed in the back. :)

Edit: My experience is for Muse headlining concerts only, I'm not talking about festivals where multiple bands take turns on stage.
